The reason that the keys no longer work is because of the type of screen that new devices have. Back then the screens were made of two layers and when anything (including plastic) made the two layers touch it basically activated that spot but now it’s one layer of glass and it only works with a finger because of chemistry that I don’t want to explain right now because it’s complicated
Also I think you missed it, but Frankie, Clawdeen, and Draculaura (unsure about Clawd) actually came with mini invitations for the dolls that were attached to the same cardboard cutout as their gifts! It’s a small accessory but not something to throw out :(

I had the Draculaura doll i took her to school with me my mommy told me to put her inside my backpack but she was so pretty i didnt wanna put her away then i tripped and fell and her leg broke and i was really sad im super happy that i can look at her again by just watching this video :D
If you haven't thrown her away yet You can fix the doll! If she has Elastic holding both of her legs You can always get some elastic from a craft store or anywhere where they sell them and some tweezers and you can search up a tutorial

I thing that the 'suprise' thing was not on the website, but rather in some sort of dedicated mobile app that isn't available anymore. I know because I have her, and I remember using the key on my phone's screen to unlock something in that app (though I don't remember WHAT it was that I unlocked/tried to unlock 😵)

I've had Clawdeen from when the sweet 1600 line was new and she is missing both hands, the stand, the invitation, the "dress", the coat, the shoes, the earrings, the pants, the key(broke and my parents prolly tree it away) and both hands.
