    I bought an Alter71 on the basis of your earlier video. I now have an Atrex, quite a big improvement, target IDs more stable and better overall depth. Thanks for bringing an unbiased review 👍

    Thanks for the video Sid ,great job as always,cant wait to see more as I am learning my atrex as well. Only complaint I have is the glare also on the screen.

    As a result of your original Alter 71 video, I bought one. I am now going to upgrade to this. Thanks for the test/video.

    Swinging the Deus 2 for about 4 months now, but I wish it had the dual tone option from my Rutus Alter. The extra Non-motion all metal channel just makes it easier to predict size and depth. Still have my Rutus Alter 71 and will keep it because I just love the machine.

    Very impressive and a nice review. Looking down the hole I was expecting to see Ayers Rock. It's got nice tone as well, not too scratchy. As usual thanks for sharing.

    Hello . I have had Rutus Atrex for almost three months now and I don't regret my choice. A very good detector. I am using Multi 1.1.9 and I have my own settings. Regards. Good depth test.

    This is why these detectors have all these different modes. Many soil types and many different type hunters out there. If 2 detectors are relatively equal at detecting I'm going with the machine that sounds the best to my ears.

    Excellent video as always, good depth with that new machine, I know the XPD2 with a few more Tweaks would improve the Signal on that 16 inch coin 😀😀😀

    Great to see your review so soon after the Deus2 and Legend videos. I have the D2 and Atrex...both great machines but the Atrex screen is so poor in any sunlight..great display when you can see it......but it can be a nightmare to see the sweep results and I dont think any updates will be able to sort it. Drives me bonkers. Keep em coming sir ;0).

    Thank you for this test. I think it would help in being able to see the screens on the detectors if you used a polarizing filter on your camera to kill the sky glare.

    Nice to see different machines, be nice if the deus 2 could combine full tones and a tone for targets past 9” so you get the benefit of full tones and the depth of a 3 or 5 tone program that stops you in your tracks

    do you think rutrus can be deeper than deus 2 without using relic or goldifeld programs?

    Would be good to see the Gauss MD on that 16" target L3 or H3 I think it would hit it easy from the depth I hit tiny silvers at :)

    Interesting test, thanks Sid. I just joined the broken Nox 15" coil lugs club and am thinking of cutting my losses and getting a Deus II but now you've made me wonder if I should be looking at other (and more affordable) options, particularly that Rutus Atrex. Just out of interest, if you do a similar test with dry soil in future, how about pouring a bucket of water down the hole and soaking the plug to see if that has an effect? It would make digging it up to recover your coins a bit unpleasant though.

    • @hptcollete1957

      I'm sorry to hear of your lug loss, was contemplating a Nox 800 but this fault seems to come up a great deal. Not sure if I should proceed with with this machine if build quality is not up to scratch.

    • @mojo1737
      @mojo1737 2 года назад

      @@hptcollete1957 it will only require the purchase of a coil stiffener for the lugs to be fair and the nox is good to go .yes its a pain but for the sake of £8. Will thinking about .

    • @stefkuna
      @stefkuna 2 года назад

      @@mojo1737 That's true and the problem seems to be mainly with the 15" coils. I beleive Coiltek recogised that and their's are stronger. In other respects the detector is very well made if perhaps a bit heavy and less well balanced compared to say the Deus.

      @@stefkuna I agree Stefano I have been a staunch minelab user for a good few yrs . I myself use a nox 800 and have had many good results over the 4 yrs or so of using it .I must say I have had to replace coil 2 times under warranty due to co lug issues but since using the coil stiffener I have had no issues .thankyou for your reply

    ... personally I don't own the atrex, but the alter71, but what I don't understand is that reading the comments of the enthusiasts, as I am, they take sides for or against a car comparing it to this or that ....... ........ to understand, it is a well-known legend that the main defect of the rutus is the screen, which with certain lights it is difficult to use .... if the machine is not liked for functional reasons, for example it is not deep or maybe it is not reactive, it may be fine, but if one comes to doubt a machine for trivialities like the speech of the screen, I dare to say that when you judge anything you should at least know it.
    the expert detectorist should go by ear, which means that those who know the machine know that the rutus (like other metal detectors) is a multitone .....
    go with headphones because they offer you a variety of sounds and then rely on the screen ....
