My Pace is one of my faves. This is the song that keeps me going and assured me that it is okay to take a break esp. when I decided to stop for one term in my fourth year in college. I still graduated together with my classmates but at that time it was anxiety-inducing knowing that I need to stop for one term because my mental health is declining. For new STAYs: Stray Kids/스트레이 키즈 is an 8 member South Korean boy group who debuted under JYP Entertainment on March 25th 2018 through a survival show which is also called “Stray Kids”. I never realized until now how much this song relates to Stray Kids career and how it’s progressed over the years. The lyrics say that it’s okay to go slower in the beginning, stop comparing to others, stay in your own lane and you’ll find your way in the end. This is SKZ, they weren’t all that popular in the beginning, so many ppl looked down on them for not reaching instant success since debut. So many ppl compared them to other JYP groups. People talked bad about their music and called them weird for trying out experimental concepts. But they continued to do what they wanted, they stayed in their lane, and now they have grown so much. They bring in a lot of numbers and are one of the fastest growing groups in kpop rn. They won Kingdom and are breaking personal records left in right. They are 4th gen leaders. I’m so proud of SKZ.

And I don’t know if you’ve listened to some of their other songs, but they do have many different types of songs and even though this is like their 2nd most popular song, some of my favourites are very different but less popular. I’d also recommend reading the lyrics, because Stray Kids honestly have some very meaningful lyrics.

My Pace is one of my faves. This is the song that keeps me going and assured me that it is okay to take a break esp. when I decided to stop for one term in my fourth year in college. I still graduated together with my classmates but at that time it was anxiety-inducing knowing that I need to stop for one term because my mental health is declining. Stray Kids you really is such a gift of safety to me. ❤

Stray Kids/스트레이 키즈 is an 8 member South Korean boy group who debuted under JYP Entertainment on March 25th 2018 through a survival show which is also called “Stray Kids”. Their group name says it all, it means they aren’t restricted at all; they can do any genre or concept that goes well with the theme they use. It’s been over two years since their official debut, and the first song they have written was “Hellevator” during their pre-debut in October of 2017. They have three subunits within the group, 3RACHA, which is made up by the main rappers and producers of the group. There were also the first three members of Stray Kids and they all currently write and produce all of their songs. DANCE RACHA, which consists of the main dancers of the group and they contribute to making their choreography. And last but not least VOCAL RACHA. VOCAL RACHA consists of two of the main vocalists, and they also happen to be two of the youngest members. Stray Kids is known for their Hip-Hop, Rock, Rap, and EDM style music with unique structures. The leader, Bang Chan, was the one who chose all of the members to be on the survival show.
3RACHA is a Hip-Hop/Rap subunit that consists of Bang Chan (CB97), Changbin (SpearB), and HAN (J.One) who debuted in early 2017 under JYP Entertainment before becoming a part of Stray Kids. The song “Hellevator” was written, produced, and choreographed by themselves as part of a mission on a survival show, also called “Stray Kids” which was also during their pre-debut in October of 2017. The track itself means that since they’re already in hell, struggling and in pain, they keep going and get on the elevator that will lead them to all their hopes and dreams just so they can get a better future. So technically, the elevator is the way to Heaven.
All the members can sing, rap, and vice versa. They have a lot of Hip-Hop, Rock, and EDM elements in many of their tracks. One of the members, HAN is one of the youngest producers in the entire K-Pop industry who’s worked alongside Bang Chan and Changbin on all Stray Kids songs/albums. They were often referred to as the next BTS, but not in the sense that they are the same as BTS, in the sense that they all wrote and produce their own lyrics that discuss dark topics that aren’t talked about/taboo on South Korea. Those are other people’s words, not really mine. Stray Kids’s songs often mention mental health, and only a select few of K-Pop artists do that nowadays. They have gone through many struggles that they have experienced throughout the course of their lives, and can be relatable to many people.

I never realized until now how much this song relates to Stray Kids career and how it’s progressed over the years. The lyrics say that it’s okay to go slower in the beginning, stop comparing to others, stay in your own lane and you’ll find your way in the end. This is SKZ, they weren’t all that popular in the beginning, so many ppl looked down on them for not reaching instant success since debut. So many ppl compared them to other JYP groups. People talked bad about their music and called them weird for trying out experimental concepts. But they continued to do what they wanted, they stayed in their lane, and now they have grown so much. They bring in a lot of numbers and are one of the fastest growing groups in kpop rn. They won Kingdom and are breaking personal records left in right. They are 4th gen leaders. I’m so proud of SKZ.
