Thanks for the tip on raising the rod when the lure enters a shallow bottom until the lure returns to the location being fished. The tip to place the rod into the water on the turn will be helpful too. The weeds were killing me on Pine Lake last summer, I will try your weed removal system instead of all that reeling in to clean the lure. Thanks Jim, great video.
Trolling a weedy lake can be very discouraging for a new or even veteran troller. You want to troll the weedline. If and when weeds get on the lure, most of the time several quick shakes of the rod will clear the weeds. It will take practice to get a good feel for it. Good question, I think I'll shoot a video next summer on trolling a weedline.
the camera angle(from the front of boat) you're using to show the rod ---shows the rod bouncing somewhat -- but if you could show it from your right shoulder I think it would be a better demonstration---keep up the good work--
Come on man, speed up that boat. You gotta' make them fish STRIKE. Your speed is too slow. You know all this...make it happen. Increase that speed. Don't worry about the skeptics saying "you're fishing too fast"....they're not going to believe a thing you say anyway.
I really enjoy all the instructional spoonplugging videos. You have inspired me to get me some spoonplugs and give this kind of fishing a shot. Keep them coming!

How do you deal with weeds and keeping the lure weed free?

Thanks for the comment! I plan on releasing several "classroom" segments during the winter.
