So many memories! Waking up that Saturday morning with my little brothers and playing this. Then my pops walks in the living room and wants to play too. Comic book family.
This was the game my parents bought me first as a promise that one day they would get me the Mega Drive to play it on. Got this as a birthday present and I remember holding the box as a kid and imagined how cool it will be when I got a chance to play it for real. Then a few months later, they got me the mega drive and I enjoyed how sweet it was to play this game. For some reason, over the years, though my Mega Drive still is home with the folks and still works, this game and several others "Splatter House 2, Another World, Flashback, Mega Six Pack, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 had been misplaced and possibly thrown out by my brother, to which I have once again started a new collection and will only buy this game once I know I have lost the original birthday game. But either way, it feels like I lost a part of my childhood with that game gone that will never be replaced even if I buy another version.
I remember playing this in 1993 when it came out, I was 10. Definitely challenging, Apocalypse was a pain at first and Ahabs world or whatever was not fun... The music is still so memorable, especially the Shi'ar levels.
This was my first ever game on Sega Genesis when I was 4 years old. I never beat it because of that damn soft reset requirement during Mojo's stage. I always played other games and came back to this game to try to finish it; since it never happened my childhood was never complete ahahah. Then lol when I was 20 years old, I was like oh how do you beat this game anyways, I looked it up, found out about the stupid soft reset, downloaded an emulator on the laptop in pretty much one go. It was one of the most rewarding things considering the years of suffering and not figuring out the puzzle was within the hardware, not the software itself.
Legit would get pissed get to MOJO stage and literally just wait until the timer ran out, one day I pressed the Reset button and a bunch of X"s and 0's fill the screen = LIT
all i can remember about this game is playing the xmen arcade and being stoked when this game came to genesis. begging my parents to buy it. finally getting it. cutting it on and in the first 2 minutes being like what the fuck is this.
Loved this game when I was a kid. Holding down + A button and C button during the title screen and switching controller ports would allow you to access the cheats
+Joseph Bentley I saw another video where the guy did the Same Thing. that also Blew My Mind lmao. I was so young and always playing with my brother I never thought of it.
At 24:27, I would destroy that window to the simulator and then nothing would happen. Time would run out and the game would be over. Not sure what you did differently here.
kitty pride, mystic, emma frost, spike, colossus, rogue, jean grey, multiple, lord mentalist, lady letal, pyro, magma, petra, push and pixie haved caster at playplace that's board of options at players in game.
the shi'ar phase one music has parts that remind me of an old Genesis song. And not Genesis as in the gaming console I mean the music group with Phil Collins.
I honestly feel that the genesis version is the black sheep of the two, but damn it, I prefer the genesis version. there's something about the music that just doesn't feel right on the snes, its too clean on that system. the genesis gets a bad rap for being weak but I dare anyone to play Comix Zone or Mutant League Hockey and call that bad. hell, play spider-man Maximum carnage and Separation Anxiety. two different systems, two different versions, same damn game. this whole console debate is just...let me be clear: you can say Nintendo won but Sega handed them their own asses early on, kept releasing hit after hit and while probably not the first, introduced a CD based Add-on. that was unheard of. I would've killed to have that in 97. this system getsa lot of crap. and its for all the wrong reasons
able2ful1 The Genesis was NOT weak when it came out. Remember it came out 3 full years before the SNES Genesis had better arcade/Action games. SNES had the RPGs
That and the fact that this version had villains the snes version didn’t have! The fact that mijo was in the game is awesome, not a lot of people know who he is!
The genesis was amazing. First console I bought with my own earned money. Bought everything I could for it. Many games just had a more mature western focus. The SNES felt like a toy at times.
+David Thomas Tap the reset button on your Genesis, that's what they mean by resetting the computer. Don't hold it or you'll reset the game, a simple tap of it and you're off to the next stage.
[Been meaning to reply to this] Oh ok. Kinda thought so after seeing the comments on here. Man, if only I knew that when I had my Genesis! Sure could've used this advice!
24:31 I believe this is where you’re suppose to reset the game… which is what kinda turned me off from playing this game. But then again, X-Men 2 is still so hard to play😅
Hours and hours of my childhood playing this game....
I know right!!!! And this guy did it with just Gambit in 35 minutes XD
Me too played it so much I can beat it under 9 minutes
So many memories! Waking up that Saturday morning with my little brothers and playing this. Then my pops walks in the living room and wants to play too. Comic book family.
Your blessed to have such good memories man. I do my best to cherish mine.
Sega Genesis, at it's finest! !!!!! My older brother use to play this all the time. I use to sit back and be amazed at this game.
Is it me or is this music bad ass???? WOW... I'm really like digging the music :3
music is definitely bad ass.
The forest level to me always had a sick beat.
Hell yea haha 🤙🏿😂🤣🎧
#classic lmao
The nostalgia 🙌🏿
Gambit has the perfect strut for the music. Like i could watch a level just of him walking through it while blasting the music.
This game was so hard
And still is, because of bad hit detection and lag controls.
I bought it for $90 when it came out and literally couldn't play it
@@retroworld8090 Ouch. 90 bucks? Where the hell did you live Alaska? Even new Sega games were only, hah only 60-70. hard to believe now.
SNES Fan89 hit detection is fine. Each boss opens up for split second of when you can hit them otherwise you can’t hurt them
only hard game is rihanna sex game.

Classic, man this brings me back miss the 90's
Nice touch using Rogue to finish off Magneto.
awesome
it all started with this game.. damn great memories
I remember buying this game at Toys r Us the week it came out with a jar of change I had saved up.
I remember playing this in 1993 when it came out, I was 10. Definitely challenging, Apocalypse was a pain at first and Ahabs world or whatever was not fun... The music is still so memorable, especially the Shi'ar levels.
Really? I was just born that year 20Feb1993
The part two sound Track of shi'ar kicks!
@@papabird4425 Fuck yes
Best game on the Sega genesis!! Why can’t developers come up with a similar game? It had pretty much all the major villains and was tough to beat!!
9:23 When the beat drop!
AnTra23 no bullshit got damn lol
Aww, all Magneto wanted was a hug!
I remember when you had to hit the rest button after fighting mojo.. To get to the next stage🤦♂️🤣
The teleporter glitch with Gambit works on some cartridges.
this game used to kick my ass as a kid. love it now though
Those beats are so FRESH!!!
Some of the music in this game is like a precursor to dubstep.
Was going to say the same!
Bryan Claybaugh
Lol not at all. Dubstep sucks
Bryan Claybaugh get the fuck out of here with that stupid shit
The mojo part confused the shit out of me.You literally had to push the reset button on the system!

Tell me about it
Same here!
How are you even supposed to know to reset the game physically 🤣. Interesting touch though.
Yup
@@Yo_Velly Professor X is telling you "Reset the computer"
Didn't know you could bypass the Juggernaut fight by using Iceman!
Yes and the trees too, as long as you don't touch the ground to trigger the fight. Same with with Sabertooth.
Omg i remember playing this on my uncles sega game like 17 years ago.I was 4 playing this and had no idea what I was doing😂😂
the nostalgia 😀
Totally! This brings back memories from when I was a very small child.
all i can remember about this game is playing the xmen arcade and being stoked when this game came to genesis. begging my parents to buy it. finally getting it. cutting it on and in the first 2 minutes being like what the fuck is this.
Inspiring playthrough. Difficult game.
I never knew you could ride that dragon thing across the water. I always toughed it out jumping across the moving platforms. Aww man!
leroypowell3 I also was amazing to discover that.
That's a pterosaurus of some sort.
@YTCensorsMe Poop But Sauron is a supervillain. Why would he help Gambit cross the water?
@YTCensorsMe Poop Yeah, I already have read it.
God I feel like I'm 13 again. Ugh I miss 90's games
Damn why does it look so easy watching it on here. I know if i go and try it will not be quite the same result
LOVE this classic amazing game!
Classic! This game used to stress me out
I like playing as Gambit! He's was my favorite
A remake of this game would be so fucking dope... updated and done right of course.
Agreed!
Gambit was on of my faves just for style.
Played that game like a boss. I remember playing that game and had trouble on amateur mode. Wtf! Lol 🙏🙏🙏
Childhood hardest game this guy made it look like putting your foot in 2ft of water 🙃
Loved this game when I was a kid. Holding down + A button and C button during the title screen and switching controller ports would allow you to access the cheats
This game was hard but I managed to beat it. Gambit is my favorite.
you totally owned! awesome job! i was never that good!
Awesome run.
I even learned something new at 26:15
One of my top 5 favorites.
I miss this game.
Ah... This takes me back man..awesome
Wow and only with Gambit.
Whoa, I forgot about that Juggernaut trick, I was hoping you would post how to beat the juggernaut without this awesome trick.
what's really crazy is how you bipassed juggernaut. like wtf...who knew! 😱😲
You sure? Me and brother thought it was Sabertooth that was to fight.
+Shawnyell Backus he skipped sabretooth the same way he skipped juggernaut aswell. completely blew my mind
+Malik McCoy oh damn, I must have missed it. Okay, thanx. That was mind blown!
+Malik McCoy I could do that and get to apocalypse with nightcrawler fast, but could never get passed 4th level...makes it look easy :p
+Joseph Bentley I saw another video where the guy did the Same Thing. that also Blew My Mind lmao. I was so young and always playing with my brother I never thought of it.
You win!!! GAME OVER PRESS START
Miss this stuff
I had the super nintendo and was jealous as hell of my friends who had this and the sega.
awesome play
This games difficulty would destroy my soul as a kid
Back when I played this game, I had to fight sabertooth instead of juggernaut on that New England style level.
Just like Chakan Forever man
oh my God this is too Classic :D
my memories i have this game once
When games we're based on the amount livess, not health like the current games 🤦🏾♂️
We need another one of these...
These sounds bring back so much fuuuuck it’s crazy. Never beat this shit though..
This game is pretty hard but badass
Nightcrawler on Magneto boss fight = Easy Mode
As a kid I always laughed when I would beat s boss because it sounded like a toilet flushing lol still does xD
or when the water drains away after you release the sink stopper
I remember me and my little kindergarten friend would try and play this Hahah!
At 24:27, I would destroy that window to the simulator and then nothing would happen. Time would run out and the game would be over. Not sure what you did differently here.

I just got to the computer and I can't reset my system. I'm using the retron 5. There is only a hard reset button >:(
+Ralph macchio pirate port! In childhood i met this!
Using the retroarch emulator you can reset the game via the menu screen. Pretty nifty I must say
The Sound reminds me of the *Spiderman game for Sega*
this where the matrix came from
The Acolytes are noticeably smarter on Asteroid M than they are on Avalon in 2 I must say. I didn't get this far that often though.
this is nice, but can any of you do it with gambit with no backup?
Aaaaaand Anna Paquin got the final punch on Ian McKellan.
Rogue and Magneto used to fuck in the comics.
the shi'ar phase one music has parts that remind me of an old Genesis song. And not Genesis as in the gaming console I mean the music group with Phil Collins.
The song from the movies (2 and DOFP) slightly resembles this intro song. I wonder if whoever did the music did that on purpose.
Gambit is the best xmen
Aew capixaba kkk tamo junto

I could NEVER figure out how to reset the computer! I always ended up destroying it and time would run out! Still don't get what u did!

David Thomas I remember resetting and beating this shii
Does anyone remember the warp in the danger room?
I used to wear this game OUT!!!
Didja ever figure out the warp in the danger room
My first Game :D
All this time i thought the last stage was magneto
I can’t figure out how to jump on my x 12 playing this game frustrating as hell
Loved this fucking game
Ahabs world is the only stage that's keeping me from beating this game😣
...Before my time...Looks great though!
Better than Nintendo version lol😅
Who remembers the cheat code for unlimited life and mutant ability
24:31 I believe this is where you’re suppose to reset the game… which is what kinda turned me off from playing this game. But then again, X-Men 2 is still so hard to play😅
Had this game as a kid but NEVER got past the 1st level smh
Too bad u didn't know the warp in the danger room
How the hell did you do it !!!
Only for da true 90s ppl

Love this music,Loved to play Sega when was younger, but games are looking too boring in the 21 century.
Waste of money.
I can't jump lol
Lol
I still can't beat the first fucking level of this shitty game.
Richard Nevarez
Great game. You suck
Sorry Wexenhex but that's your nine to five job to do. Go back to catching hot loads on your face.
It's a good game it's just that some areas are really hard.
Dear god this game sounds *awful* :x
this game suuuuuuucked
