If you want to make E4 mafia a permanent way of life you must apply to become a warrant officer.
Only the best Shamurai are accepted into the ranks of the warrant officers.
Warrant police
Yup
Or come to Tennessee and become a police officer in any of our finest (corrupt) pds
@@MosEisleyCantinaStories been to Tennessee, Ft Campbell. What's corrupt? Them arresting dummies firing off blickies in actual neighborhoods.
Or how about on patrol live, meth head trailer scumbags.
Sorry, but unless in some rural ass town, I see them doing their job.
Though, I agree there are a**h*** cops everywhere, but not all are ..
E-4 is not a pay grade, it is a state of mind
Cup Noodles, Amen
Hooah...
Only real *gamers* will understand
I was ready to kill by the time I got promoted!
If you want that as a permanent state of mind and career you need to become a warrant officer.
The E-4 Mafia is the world's most powerful secret organization...
Two time member here
Ahhhh memories...🤣
Amen
@@chrisberrymanalo wait two times? What happened?
And you don’t speak about it 🤣😄 kinda like being stationed in the middle of the Mojave Desert, Edwards AFB, if one see those flight line lights get shut down at night, you hear a jet land, gets it’s go go juice… boom it’s gone. Flight line lights come back on. But, no one will say a word 🤣😂
Rule #1 about the E-4 Mafia: There IS NO E-4 Mafia.
Welp...I just commented same, before seeing this.
Exactly
😂 💀 💯.
"Don't ask me, I'm just a specialist" I missed that so much.
❤😂 me 2.
My buddies and myself would party, climb up on the roof of the barracks and shoot potatoes from spud guns at the mp station, rappel from the roof, super soaker wars in the barracks, (it was the 90s and super soakers were a thing then), intentionally drive each other's military vehicles into shit in the field, and I personally enjoyed driving my nco's crazy. I loved being an E4 so much I got promoted to it twice.
Lmao that’s hilarious. Love how everyone picks on MPs however I’m sure I won’t love it for long since I just enlisted to become an MP 🙃
Me too! US Army MP 1987-1995.
That sounds like Para-Rescue Jumper (PJ) training at Lackland to me.
Haha you werent at drum were you?
Being E-4 was totally different from my experience. Since I was the highest ranking in our billets/barracks. The powers that be designated me the "room commander" but I was the one that swept/buff the floor most of the time. The Privates, PV2s, and the PFCs are the ones that have mafia mentality. When you delegate them they tell you 'you're not my NCO attitude.
He is 100% correct. When I got promoted to Spec 4, you'd think I was an NCO with all the "responsibilities" I now had and privates weren't gonna listen to me.
@@illxtra They LOVE to dangle the promise of getting sent to the board in front of you to try to rope you in to more "additional duties"
Had one teel me that on a detail Top put me in charge. As soon as it came out of his pie hole, Top walked up behind him
As a member of the E-4 Mafia 23 years ago, it was a bit different. We handled the disciplinary issues before the Sergeants got wind of the issue. We squared away the other Soldiers and kept them in line. Plus my standing rule at the RTO for my Section Sergeant was if he needed something I could get it; he knew not to ask me how or from where I got it. Once we needed a minefield during a JRTC rotation. We had no support from our CO or Supply Sergeant so I took the band of merry men out to breach our sister Company's Field and put it too better use. The next morning as Stand too approached we heard the engines of the OPFOR coming towards us. My Anti-Tank section held a Tank Company for Half an hour before they sacrificed a BMP and turned it into a mine plow. I miss my Infantry days. When you become an old crusty broke dick your forced to become Signal Corps. You are correct though I have seen many manifestations of the E-4 Mafia in my 26-year career.
No. Things are still like that. E4M is like a family.
E4 mafia is all about putting that sham shield to use 😂
I was Infantry. Worked in the Battalion S3 shop as the Driver/RTO for the BN S3. I was also the default "clerk" as well so that gave me plenty of access to information. Inspections, Training Rotations, Deployments, etc. Also got in tight with the NCOs in the shop that had me do all of their paperwork for them on the new "computer". This was back in the early 90's. So yeah. Me and the S1, S2, and S4 E4s were like a mafia!
I was flight medic in USAF. In the MEDCOR, there wasn't much difference between rank. Including officers. I did everything with my Capt - Lt Cols. We all treated each other the same and shared living space/transport/food etc. Officers tended to call the Enlisted by their first names (sign of respect). Medical Core and MED EVAC in USAF (as a flyer) was prob very different from the rest of the military. If you had the red cross and wings on your flight suit - you were treated like royalty. I remember we'd get $80 perdiem and the hard air conditioned Billets with our own bathrooms and showers - when the Army Cols had to sleep in the tents, had to share bathrooms/showers and were only allowed to eat at the chow hall.
You're never supposed to talk about the E4 Mafia
Omerta the code of silence
I like this new segment! From my experience the E-4 mafia was just a fun little thing the specialist would do since the E-4 specialist is the most common military rank in the US Army.
Miss my sham powers.
My memories of the "E-4 mafia" are a bit different. I can however definitively appreciate your perspective as an NCO.
Nice channel you have here.
Be a shame if something happened to it. You know what I mean?
E4 mafia when you need something but you do not want to how
Keeping fresh E5 egos in check.
You gotta make the E5's feel like they're in charge while they're actually not.
E-4 Scroungers make the mission easier. Working smarter rather than harder.
I was the S3's clerk in an Infantry BN. Yeah, E4 mafia for sure.
Keep up the great videos Chris!
Hey Chris. I recently found your channel and I love it. i was wondering if you could do a video on Special Forces Officers. I know you covered how to get into special forces, so I thought maybe you could make a video on the officer side of things
SOF Officers tend to be pretty badass in my experience. As a PJ and IDMT - the officers did the same missions we did (MED-EVAC) - but then had other leadership and paperwork responsibilities. Officers in SOF tend to have to be very sharp, intense LEADERS. People that def lead "from the front". Leaders strong enough to keep their enlisted troops in line as well. Unlike most in the Officer Corp - that "lead from behind". SOF Officers need to "do it all".
I was in the marfia,we knew the ropes on how to get things done. Our buck sgts. Were useless and always shaming,we always watched out for the "kids",wish you made better mention of it in that way but "Kiddos".
Its that fine line between getting promoted to E-5 and getting an article 15
It is a state of mind, I constantly spread false information to fuck with the e-1 to e-3 eg: “I’ve heard that lower ranks are on details for the 4th of July”
My last week in, I got switched from Security dept back to my old division, which I hadn't been in 3 days. The only people I knew were the 3 people who got to the ship at the same time. I stretched my checkout process to the very last day, with even a two day period in the week where I didn't show up at all. E4 Mafia #4life.
Love your vídeos. Keep up the hard work
Now, CORPORAL! That's something to be respected!
Nah thats the most pissed off of the nco's those things are to be feared..very feared
I was the Caporegime of the E4 Mafia Ft. Knox MP Company crime family from 90-95. Joined up in 87 did my first stretch in Schweinfurt Germany from 88-90 with the 981st MP Co. Loved being an MP and loved even more being an E4. I watched the bullshit the NCO’s had to endure and decided early on that I didn’t want any part of it. Seen an E5 get a bad NCOER because one of his soldiers went home on leave and got a DUI and somehow this E5 was responsible for that. Also the points for MP’s to get promoted to E5 were astronomically high like in the 950 range and rarely dropped. I literally saw E4’s go through all the bullshit to become promotable and never make 5 because of the points and they wound up ETS’ing. But mainly I had zero desire to be responsible for shit I had zero control over. That was the deal breaker for me. Fuck that! Yessir 8 years of being a full bird private, command private major! So to all my made members of the E4 mafia I say to you all, SALUT! 🍻🏴☠️💪🏼
I heard someone refer to the sp/4 as a 'full bird private'
In the ASA, the largest number were sp4. Once a newbie was sent out to find a fallopian (sp?) tube. All over the post, he was sent to other places and at the end of the day came back empty-handed. But this could be made up.
When I was at FS Augsburg from '73-'76, we would send NUGs out looking for ST-1s, GU-lls. One of the guys on the mid-trick made up a "Security Leak Detector" that was a box with lights and a fake antenna on the outside and wiring inside that would make the lights go off periodically. The NUG was instructed to notify the Watch Officer if the red light went off and when/where it happend.
@@johnyates670 In Schweinfurt, FRG 88-90 we sent the FNG’s hunting for boxes of grid squares and bottles of squelch oil! 🤣
Jeez you old timers are too nice..my nco's sent me for the box of grid squares range fan chemlight batteries and a pricky6
I can remember when I was in AIT how emphatic the Specialist were on trying to differentiate themselves from everyone else. Laughable!
It used to be called "re-appropriating".. I never stole anything. It was for the common good. Like Robin Hood.
I fucking love this
My son made me laugh today.. Said that I was part of the E4 Mafia back in Bamberg. I won't get into what we did during the AIG's annual inspections.. but it was fun.
Chris Chaos: I AM Prior Service USMC and US Army (1987-1998). I have some questions: 1) Is the " E-4 Mafia" a 21st Century Military Phenomenon, or, did They exist in The 20th Century Armed Forces? 2) Do the other Branches of Service have such Groups?
The e4mafia had always existed, but with the changing in policy and procedures they have been more empowered and actually operate like sleeper cells....they stuck together more and know how to get out of trouble and how to get you into trouble...I've seen them destroy careers and make chumps out of leadership. I was a target a few times but because of my character and ability to document on counselings I was able to protect myself...we NCO's had a meeting one day about how to beat the e4 Mafia...it's paperwork... documentation
@@patrickburns4821 so you developed your own RICO Act? 🤣🤣🤣
I love the term "Full Bird Private."
Incorrect. 1975-1995, Infantry E-4s unofficially tasked to push new recruits to unit standards. Support MOSs didn't have this until watered down examples filtered down. Usually an Infantryman that changed MOS.
Ah damn, that sucks!. It sounded like a very interesting career move.😎👍
I worked very hard as an E-4, I guess because I couldn't trust anyone else to do it right.
Interesting video definitely a thumbs up!
My E-4 mafia is getting blood rank back in the days BRAVO’S 😂
In short, you automatically become E4 Mafia in the US military by keeping your head down and staying out of the trouble. It is the best grade in the military as they are not high rank enough to be a supervisor but treated as the highest ranking of the junior level grade and still get away with mistakes.
In the Nurse Corps, the equivalent "mafia" are the CPTs.
E4’s in my unit were the backbone of the company due to the lack of E5’s
You think we dont call meetings.
Is that just the Army or any branch of the service?
Sham Shields UNITE!!
Marine version: The Lance Corporal Underground...I think that's what they call it anyway
Ummmm... E-5 and E-4 would organize lower enlisted and "talk behind the scenes" or (what we called) "off-line" - ALL THE TIME.
The only thing more imaginary than the E4 Mafia is the rank of Warrant Officer.
I used to dissappear all Day right after PT, my fellow PT buddy was like, what happened to you? I showed up right before PT, and it actually wasn't really intentional. I guess it was just the Mafia?
Are you sure they are not planning hits?
Can certain CPLs be part of the E-4 Mafia?
@@MensaGiraffe
well I was a CPL before I got out and I never hold a leadership position because all of the leadership position in my company is full
Can a Cpl of Marines be a member?
Idk we didnt call it the Mafia we called them the sercert society in the uscg atleast
There's only 2 rules of the E-4 mafia:
1) There is no E-4 mafia
2) There is no E-4 mafia
Tracking? Carry on, my wayward son
the mess sec and supply rule!!!! do not piss us off or u will be hungry and s.o.l.
These are cool
I love my E4 mafia…this will defend…92F…
Security Forces
The E4 mafia run thangs. Watch MASH. Radar ran the joint.
Clear as mud.
I loved being in the SPC. Corps.
Promotion board? PROMOTION BOARD!?
Drip46 anyone?
Drip46 was/is the best badass,he needs to make a come back.
Rule number one of the E4 there is no Mafia. Rule number two of the four there is no Mafia
Love your video' s ☺ my future husband is american and he is also in the Army ✌☺
Why is everyone talking about something that doesn't exist? Y'all f**king everything up.
I thought E 4 was when the second baseman fucks up
You gotta know the ways of the sham.
I had to koalafy
Overpaid privates.... been around long enough to take over...too short/lazy too actually do it❤
He’s snitching on us
I thought the E4 mafia was about the corporal
Also first comment
It can be but it’s most commonly the Specialist rank.
When I was in the Mafia we always derided the lone CPL in the company for trying to flex on us...loll
You will not see too many corporals outside of infantry MOS'
@@fightsports66 Most corporals I saw were prior buck sergents (E-5), reduced in grade. Corporal was still a command rank, SPC was not. A spec-4 (or above) has a specialty and IN THAT SPECIALTY outranks any enlisted person of another specialty or a command rank. But you'd be a fool to challenge someone with a different specialty in THEIR specialty.
This was ASA protocol in the SVN era. I was a 98C Traffic Analyst. But over there we were a Radio Research Unit. There was no ASA in Vietnam. (wink, wink)
It died out in 2014
Don't listen to this guy. He doesn't know. 🤣
SIXTH!
You losing weight?
Third
My family comes from a real life mafia the e4 mafia is a joke
Translation: I come from a family of criminals and they are better then those who serve.
E4 Mafia is no joke.
The E-4 Mafia operates on levels you could never fathom. Whole other level.
Promise the group of which we do not speak has a bigger boomstick collection. We're pretty well versed in the deployment of them to.
