MKBHDs Blind Camera Test Dropped a few hours ago. Top 3 phone were Pixels, unsurprisingly. But I was impressed to see the OnePlus Open took 4th. Since the 12 shares similar sensors I hope it performs similarly. Very impressive work from OnePlus.
If only the computational photography improves. Then this phone is looking EXTRA incredible
@@WHITEPERSUAS1ON I personally have the Pixel 8 Pro and the OnePlus Open. Have had every Pixel and go back to the Nexus days but always kept another phone around for performance and used Pixels for photography.
The Open is the first phone I've had that doesn't make me reach for the Pixel anymore when I'm heading to a party or event. It's 3x portraits are better than the Pixel and I don't feel like I'm going to miss a special moment anymore by using another phone.
The computational photography and hardware was a generational leap from what we had in the OnePlus 11.
@@marcochavanne I agree with you. I have the same set up as you but constantly reach for the OnePlus Open, the camera holds its own and is comparable to the Pixel 8 Pro. So much so that I'm considering selling the Pixel 8 Pro and using the OnePlus Open as my full time daily device. Was contemplating buying a OnePlus 12 however aside from the SD 8 Gen 3 there's literally no justification in buying it. The device is virtually an unfoldable OnePlus Open.

Ended up selling my Open and ordering the OnePlus 12 and a OnePlus Pad. It turns out while I love the cameras and just about everything else on the Open, I mainly used it unfolded at home where I could get a better experience out of a tablet and will just use a candybar style phone for a daily driver.
Will probably be selling my Pixel 8 Pro too if the cameras on the 12 are as good as they were on the Open.
I've never had a tablet before but I think it will give me the experience I'm looking for.
The Open is still an amazing phone and will recommend it to anyone that wants a new foldable.
Great video! I wish you had talked a bit about the speakers as it's hard to tell how they are, hearing them over the own speakers.
How is the volume output balanced between the upper and lower speaker?
Really like the 12, but I am still mad that they did away with the pop up camera from the 7 pro. Wish they still had those on the new phones. I hate seeing that camera keyhole on the screen. My 7pro was a $699 device and came with that unique feature along with 1440p screen resolution with 90hz refresh. 8gb ram and 256gb storage. So in 5 years the 12 now has same 1440 screen with a tiny bit more height. 7pro was 3120x1440 this is 3168x1440... Base cost is for a phone with 12gb ram and 256gb storage. Price for the new phone is only $30 more than mine, which is not bad, but it also lost the best feature which made it stand out from all the keyhole flagships the rest were making. My phone is still in daily use and that camera has never had an issue, so not sure why they removed it for an ugly keyhole one. Seems that OnePlus has stopped innovating, but at least their price is still relatively cheap for what you get compared to the flahships from samsung and apple. S23+ is more expensive and on gen2 snapdragon and only 8gb ram. Also has only 45w charging compared to OnePlus 100w.
Unfortunately my 7pro needs another battery replacement. This will be the 3rd one for it in the 5 years I have had it.
I'll be buying this OnePlus 12, but I've had the Oppo Reno 2 with the pop up camera for years and I'll definitely miss that feature! I bought it for £150 in 2020 with 12gb/256gb!

It depends in what respect? If you can buy the s23 ultra on invoice and the price is the same, the s23 ultra is a better choice. When it comes to comparing price, quality of features, Ooneplus 12 wins.
OnePlus 12 is the half the price of s23U and better than Samsung
Op 12 is ofc superior than s23 ultra in every aspect due to superior camera processing,performance,smoothness of ui,battery life,charging speeds,display etc

It looks sooo gross so extremely gross curved screens are extremely terrible... Oneplus to me now seems like crap. Phones look so terrible, their flagship always have curves screens and that's the most horrible terrible thing about a flashing phone, it's soo gross. It's so off putting this alone will never let me buy the phone even if it was at 70% off. It takes soo much away from what you watching and how you try and use your phone.
I think it's the best looking phone out there! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.
