Stephen Hoy plays the Courtois 420BT, Bach 42B and B&S Stolzing MSK14 Trombones. Listen to the difference in sound. We have all these and more in stock.
I've always played on a (restored 1981) Bach 42b (closed wrap), but I'd love to try out the AC....it seems to have a smooth "creamier" sound....some have described it as fitting people's idea of what a trombone should sound like... George, Canada
This test/comparing would convince me more, with 2 more pieces of another character and different loudness played as example and short. Also played in the high register and in the low as well
I agree! My issue with horns is how they sound when you put a lot of air through them. Does the sound get too focused? Does it get hard to play on certain partials? Is the sound complex and full or bright with less core.
The Courtois gets ugly after a few years because of the varnish, so Yamaha has always been my favourite trombone manufacturer, you can feel the quality.
I’ve always used bach but I’m really in in love with AC sound. Much darker in high register, and it’s easier to pull out big air through the horn. Good feelings and incredible projection.
My favorite is BACH 42 tenor!

Very intersting try out! Would love to try the Bach! :-)

All trombones in this video are great horns!
B&S for me
About Courtois, is it the French or the German made trb. ???
This is very important because there is a HUGE difference between those two productions.
