Just binge watched the whole in a nutshell series so far and I'm extremely happy that this video touched on a topic I've never conciously thought before. Keep up the good work, these are great ^^
Great video, thank you! I have one question about macro movement in low ELO games. I find that after a lost fight, teammates often run back in too early, so you end up with two allies running back into a 2v5 (often with neither of them being a tank). If I'm already alive and have the option to either go with the suicide squad or wait for the tank to revive, how do I assess the better choice?
Can you get any benefit from participating in that fight without dying? If you can safely gain ult charge and potentially get a lucky pick without dying, that might be a reason to join in. Consider how to escape beforehand as well, taking into account which heroes the other team is using. If you know Winston is just going to murder you after your teammates die because there's no escape route from him, then just stay back.
sooo....if tank jumps out who does everyone anchor around? its like a never ending "no, you go first" cycle. Bastion runs to his ana, ana runs to cree, cree hugs the kiriko, kiriko ports to tank lol.
A dive tank requires a dive comp, you want high mobility characters that can stay with the tank. Eg go Moira or Kiriko or Mercy with DVa or Winston, go Ana or Baptiste with Sigma or Rein.
If your tank is Dva, Winston, Doom, Hammond then it depends on your character. Generally dive characters (Kiriko, Lucio, Genji, Tracer, Sombra) have high mobility to keep up with their tank so they can jump in and jump out easily. Low mobility characters should stay at the backline and provide support from afar (Ana nade sleep, sniper long range damage, etc) so if the dive characters are jumping out, low mobility characters are still safe and not alone in the middle of the enemy team. In this case, divers anchor with the tank while low mobility characters anchor with each other in the backline. Think of divers going from A to B. Low mobility heroes stay at A. When divers go from B to A, low mobility heroes are still safe and can retreat together. Your team comp in this case is pretty bad since the only people who can reliably support the tank when they jump in is Ana and Kiriko. Bastion needs very safe space when he goes turret but the tank creates volatile space, same with Cassidy.
Like he says in the video, low mobility heroes stick with each other. In your example, Bastion, Cassidy, and Ana stick together while Kiriko mainly supports Doomfist. Ideally the frontliners would always stay in sight/escape distance of the backliners, that way when they get in trouble they have a "home base" to return to.
I really like playing Ana with Dive tanks. When Doom jumps ahead, it becomes difficult for enemies to turn their backs on him and come towards me, so I can use heals and pressure to keep a space safe for him to leap back to.
I’m a new overwatch player and these short videos are really transforming how I view the game. Big thanks man. 👍

As a bastion player this was extremely helpful for knowing when and when not to play bastion. Thanks a ton!
These videos are great. Thank you very much!
3:19 I'm assuming you made a mistake here by switching Winston & Reinhardt here? Otherwise very helpful video!
