Episode 1: Aang grapples with the guilt and shame of his failures before burning his staff, something very precious to him Episode 2: Aang recreates Footloose
Fun Fact: When you see all of the Fire Nation kids wearing "headbands", seemingly pulling them out of nowhere, it's because they were actually wearing them all along. Allow me to explain; if you look at all the kids in the school, they are wearing the same thing Aang uses as a "headband", but they are wearing them around their waists, because they are actually sashes or belts. So, when they disguised themselves to look like Aang/Kuzon, they simply just took off their sashes and tied them around their heads. And this is the same reason some of the kids were looking at/treating Aang/Kuzon weird when he first showed up at the school; it's like if you saw some new kid walk around school with a belt around his head.😅
It's also upside down-- when Aang wears it, the symbol is supposed to mirror the shape of his arrow, but the belt/sash is meant to have an upright triangle symbol that resembles a flame. Symbolically this makes the whole headband movement so much bigger of a rebellion against the Fire Nation teachings, if you think about it!
Sad fact: The reason Iroh is silent for the first few episodes of season 3 is that his original voice actor died in between seasons 2 and 3. Him staying silent was one of the ways they paid respect to Mako.

Yeah I actually think this was one time that Azula was genuinely looking out for Zuko. It’s hard to tell because we don’t expect it but her voice is so uncharacteristically soft here. She even called him dum-dum (affectionate) instead of the name she usually uses to get a rise out of him, Zuzu.
I always got the feeling she does love him he’s her older brother, and the later episodes show that a bit more, she’s crazy, but there are a few times we actually see her care, plus the comic where they bond a bit. It’s Ozai manipulating her, and the few times she’s genuinely nice is the times that she’s with Zuko. Idk maybe that’s me reaching but I just felt like she was made into a soldier from their dad and Zuko was the only person she really could care for when she felt like it
Aang say he learned fire nation slang from his friend Kuzon 100 years ago. But Aang told zuko that he and Kuzon were little trouble makers back in the day. So my personal head cannon is that Kuzon was just messing with Aang the whole time and told him a bunch of made up slang just to fuck with him
No, there was nothing genuine about that; she didn't want him getting caught and punished for that because she wanted to be the one to expose him at the worst possible moment, and hurt him as deeply as possible, because she's a P.O.S., disgusting, vile creature (I'm not even gonna give her the respect of calling her a human being) who should have been aborted, and so is anyone else who acts like her, or encourages and supports that kind of behavior by saying abominations like her are "cool" in any way.
it's actually the second time. The first time is in the flasback when she makes him play with her and set it up in such a way that he would end up "saving" Mai.
@@vericulum6810 There’s also the moment where in the midst of taunting Zuko about their dad wanting to kill him, she suggests he run away and offers help to find someone to adopt him. It’s still extremely cruel, but it says a lot that she actually doesn’t want Zuko dead. At least, at the time.
It's telling that nearly every other instance people bring up, typically involves mocking someone. Sure, maybe she helped her friend get with her brother, but her main goal was to mock Mai. This time, at BEST, she gets to keep Zuko around to manipulate him, as opposed to doing something that can get him killed. I feel the need to point out that every time Zuko sees Iroh the angle of the camera always depicts Zuko as being behind bars. To symbolize how even though he is physically free, he is mentally and spiritually more trapped than ever
There are several reasons for Iroh not talking to Zuko, but the one I like most is that Iroh had always helped and provided Zuko with answers and guidance, and in the end Zuko still chose wrong, so Iroh remains silent so Zuko understand the consequences, but also Zuko can learn and make decisions fully by himself, which will help him grow as a person

I don't think Zuko's reaction is just him being hurt. Zuko is in conflict with himself. His own moral compass is telling him he's done wrong, and rather than face himself, he wants Iroh to tell him that it was the right decision so he can put his guilt away. The irony being that his guilt is the result of Iroh guiding him. Iroh is disappointed, but he also knows Zuko knows better. He taught Zuko to be better, and he still has faith in him.
Not to ruin the cute moment but watching the dance scene now made me thought about something. Ok hear me out. Sokka and Katara went to school to pass as Aang's parents, and to do that they had to walk in and out of the school and the principal's office while in character, right? Which means that it's pretty probable that some of the kids in Aang's class saw them. Can you imagine being one of those kids, getting invited to a party by the new kid, Kuzan, but then you go and it turns out he lived in a cave and when the party gets moving you see Kuzan breaking the dance floor with is mom who's not pregnant anymore for some reason and they are clearly giving flirty looks at each other. And then they run away, never to be seen again. That shit would keep me up at night by how confused I would be.
Well given that she was non longer pregnant, the hair was different and her breast smaller, they could have probably thought she was his big sister... which doesn't make it any better in their eyes...
Footloose: Avatar Edition One of the most interesting parts of this season is that it really tries to humanize the Fire Nation citizens. That's always been a thing, but it is important to remember that basically all of the citizens we see are Fire Nation, unlike previous seasons where they have been Earth Kingdom and Water Tribe citizens with small exceptions, like in Jet. It's easy to think the Fire Nation is bad, but these kids have never hurt a soul. And we will slowly come to understand how this all started and why the citizens support the war.
6:34 - Reminding me of our kid when we would swaddle them into a little burrito baby. Like, you know, intellectually, that babies are small, but I never grasped how small they could be. I could lay mine out on my forearm like I was cradling a football.
Why would a group of school students learn about a secret river that goes straight to the palace? I've always thought surely this was an Aang lie. Anyway..... SECRET RIVER! SECRET RIVER! TO THE PALACE! SECRET SECRET SECRET SECRET RIVER! 😆😆😆
Princess Alicia, Jiggy and Jiggly; There is no time skip in ATLA, but the sequel series, Legend of Korra, fills in a lot about the Gaang's later lives and heavily involves their descendants.
Imma argue Azula warning Zuko about seeing Iroh was genuine sisterly concern. There’s literally no benefit to her other than keeping him out of potential trouble, trouble which wouldn’t affect her.
I really love Jin and think she was the right girl for Zuko, May does redeem herself later and have always like Zuko but I can help myself think Jin was the one for Zuko, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks that
Imagine being Jin and learning that the city you live in is now occupied by the fire nation because that awkward Lee guy you dated once, who is actually the fire prince, killed the fucking avatar
6:33 - Putting a little much on your expectations, aren't you. If you ever have babies of your own, be aware that clothing are actually limited, especially for boys. Most of the baby fashion out there are for baby girls and if you look closely, almost every baby boy is wearing the same/similar items of clothing...
Because the clothing industry is EXTREMELY sexist against men. and promotes a culture of misandry (a hatred towards men for just being men; the opposite of misogyny). This is the same reason that, when you go in most clothing stores, or even department stores that carry clothing, women's and girls' clothing takes up about 75% to 90% of the areas dedicated to clothing and is displayed as one of the first things you see when you walk into the store, and men's and boy's clothing is relegated to a few racks and a couple of shelves in whatever small space is left, usually to the far left or right of the main aisles, or all the way in the back of the store.
If she watches the Legend of Korra after she finishes this. I bet she will cry in the first 10 seconds and go all baby talking in the first minutes after certain characters appear
Winners aren't the only ones who get to write history. For example, dont you think its kind of weird that so much popular history comes from memoires of Nazi commanders? Who got to choose what went in their own books? History is written by those who write things down.
it is that some but i've always seen it as iroh has said EVERYTHING that needs to be said, Zuko knows what the right thing to do is, iroh doesnt need to say it, Zuko has to choose to return to the right path, so there is no point to iroh continuing to waist his breath telling Zuko what he already knows ;-;
After watching several of your reactions and learning about your baby rabies(that’s what I call it), I can only wonder how long it’s going to take for your dream to come true. Once your factory is cleared of pests, that is😊.
In a year if my cancer treatment goes well then another 6 months of healing I get to start trying. But that’s only if things go super well otherwise 2-3 years
@@aliciaxlife Well that sucks. Still I wonder if you’re cured of baby rabies with one bundle of joy or if it will take several? But until that time comes I’ll enjoy your reactions for as long as your health and schedule permit. Then later on, if your responsibilities of a parent permit.XD
Quick question Alicia: “If you were to be a bender, which element would you bend? (And don’t say ‘All of them’ or anything like that) (Also, depending on which one you choose, you also get to use there sub-bending, such as; ice, snow, lightning, sand, metal, etc)” Personally, I’d be a fire bender because of my short temper. Ik this is not a qeustion for me but I would love being an water bender becs of my personality and becs that my fav season is winter and I love water, Ice and snow And I would love helping others through healing
Personality wise, I know I'm not an earth bender. I am way too distractible and flighty. I can get angry, but probably not enough rage or passion to be a fire bender. Not chill enough for air, so probably a water bender. If I get to choose, while being a human flame thrower/tesla coil is cool, but not useful in day to day. Waterbending is quite useful, especially in winter, but I feel like Earthbending would have potentially the most utility.

Me: *used to being heavily bullied my entire life, ignoring them*
In short, don’t let a-holes get you down. Be like Aang in this episode and be yourself in a world that wants to confine you
I never noticed that onji roles her eyes when her boyfriend is talking to aang for the first time
I don't think Zuko's reaction is just him being hurt.
3:13 she got that same energy of katara trying (and failing) to be funny in that one sword master episode
Aang got that PhD in Quantum Rizzics
Sokka over here titledropping like "Aang, I've taught you all I know. You've really become the Avatar: the Next Backbender"
WOOOOOO YEAHHHHH!!!! So Happy to See You Back with Aang!!! Love your Reacts to This Show!!!! Thanks Alicia for comin Back to Avatar! ❤
Aang would try to save the world with dance.
Aang had his main and his side in the same room.
Yeay, princess Alicia, clever and beautiful is fully back for season 3 :)
@Zuko are you okay buddy? You look a little sick...
@Zuko Because I made a callback joke to the last episode?
@Zuko42069 no.
@Zuko did u miss the joke?
I think only the disciplinarian saw Sapphire
Footloose: Avatar Edition
One of the most interesting parts of this season is that it really tries to humanize the Fire Nation citizens.
3:23 don’t underestimate the enemy birbs. birbs are government drones
"Have you ever seen baby shoes!?!"
Yes, my mom still has my old baby shoes from when I was just a wee bebe.
“Nobody shows my Angie anything especially MOVEMENTS” lmao that’s crazy 😂
Sokka the backbender... still makes me laugh
Imma argue Azula warning Zuko about seeing Iroh was genuine sisterly concern. There’s literally no benefit to her other than keeping him out of potential trouble, trouble which wouldn’t affect her.
If I’m gonna be honest, your baby craziness is entertaining to watch, hence why I subscribed.
13:23 the secret river might be the same river flowing underground Katara used to defeat Azula
Zuko: says literally anything
Alicia: 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
😭😭😭 THATS MY SWEET BABY BOY
6:22 Okay everyone. This is the sound estrogen makes in the wild.
Honestly, azulas voice actress really nailed the role. Everytime I hear her speak I almost get fooled into believing her. That's talent.
You’re talent!
Don't give hints about future episodes. Stop ruining the experience
Clothes. Do. Not. Have. Gender.
Cinematic note you'll appreciate: anytime zuko is visiting iroh, the bars will be between the "camera" and zuko never iroh
SECRET RIVER!!
Secret River!
Though the nation
Secret Secret River!!
Yes, that's immediately what came to mind when I heard "secret river" XD
no wedding episodes. but korra does tell us who has kids.
Favorite slice of life of the show.
21:04 I could just hear the old dial up sound as she tried to process that.
Man Aang really just said...
It Mr steal your girl...
Ooooh wooooo
alicia is a gem, and these videos are amazing
I love that this whole episode is a footloose reference.
The most painful thing is to watch sweet old uncle Iroh crying😢.
29:45 I'm Spartacus!
If she watches the Legend of Korra after she finishes this. I bet she will cry in the first 10 seconds and go all baby talking in the first minutes after certain characters appear
Fire Nation Katara is here, and she's cute as hell.
I prefer Water Tribe Katara
Fun fact another reason iroh wasn't speaking was I believe this was the transitions into itoh's new va.... I think
finally the ultimate villain Sparky-Sparky-Boom-Man has been introduced.
Iroh was never hurt by Zuko, he was hurt FOR Zuko.
I love that this episode is just Footloose.
Aang. The Kevin Bacon of Western Anime.
The fire nation is like a prominent group in ww2
Change my mind
Winners aren't the only ones who get to write history. For example, dont you think its kind of weird that so much popular history comes from memoires of Nazi commanders? Who got to choose what went in their own books? History is written by those who write things down.
My mum keeps my baby shoes in her car hanging from the rear-view mirror.
This episode be like:
Gotta cut footloose! Footloose!
Kick off your Sunday shoes!
it is that some but i've always seen it as iroh has said EVERYTHING that needs to be said, Zuko knows what the right thing to do is, iroh doesnt need to say it, Zuko has to choose to return to the right path, so there is no point to iroh continuing to waist his breath telling Zuko what he already knows ;-;
Avatar developers "so what if we just make a footloose episode?"
Our princess Alicia, clever and beautiful, just felt the power of the flamey-o.
"You sick show" lol... She should have known by now
Just wait Zuko and Mai's relationship gets better and kinda tough and hilarious.
Fire nation Katara O.O like dang..
During that dance scene Into the Night by Santana should have been playing lol
Sokka the backbender got me dying
Quick question Alicia: “If you were to be a bender, which element would you bend? (And don’t say ‘All of them’ or anything like that) (Also, depending on which one you choose, you also get to use there sub-bending, such as; ice, snow, lightning, sand, metal, etc)”
Personally, I’d be a fire bender because of my short temper. I think you’d make a good water or air bender due to your kindness.
Ik this is not a qeustion for me but I would love being an water bender becs of my personality and becs that my fav season is winter and I love water, Ice and snow
And I would love helping others through healing
Personality wise, I know I'm not an earth bender. I am way too distractible and flighty. I can get angry, but probably not enough rage or passion to be a fire bender. Not chill enough for air, so probably a water bender. If I get to choose, while being a human flame thrower/tesla coil is cool, but not useful in day to day. Waterbending is quite useful, especially in winter, but I feel like Earthbending would have potentially the most utility.
