Well spoken Sumit! I teared up when I saw the score last night. Couldn't watch it live unfortunately. So proud of you man. Keep going. I know you have it in you to beat Rune. Grind your way to victory. Never give up. Enjoy the match.

What a year for Sumit, hope it gives inspiration to the Indian Tennis team, management and sports authority/ministry. Hope Indian govt pour more resources into Tennis now. They have a great tennis legacy, now time to review the culture of this great sport in a great country.

Wish sumit got deeper in tournaments i remember him taking the first set from federer a few years back in one of the majors. He had defeated bublik and today lost to rune in 3 obviously he has potential but lacks consistency!! Watching his game i sometimes feel he rushes through points i really hope he continues to improve and achieve better results in future 😊
Im often happy when lower ranked players win cause they also are in need of money. With his recent successes Nagal should be a little bit out of trouble financially. Thats basically the thing, you dont win much on the challenger tour. You need to crack the top 120/100 to have a chance entering ATP tournaments without always have to play qualy.
I hope India has courts, it’s interesting to know that he lived in Canada and Germany for many years, which I’m sure their better infrastructure allowed him to pursue tennis. Now India will own him and give him the love but it would be nice if a lot more of Indian players are made in India like the Rohan bopanna mahesh bhupathi Leander paes and Sania Mirza
India deserves a tennis champion. I thought it was going to be Somdev Devvarman, especially after he beat John Isner in the NCAA Finals. Hopefully Nagal fills the gap. Sadly even the great Indian doubles champions are retired or near retirement including Paes, Bhupathi, Bopanna.
Sumit wins…Will popularize tennis in India ❤🎉
tennis is already pppular, its just very expensive sport
People have won before it never got populariser, our tennis association is super corrupted
Tennis is not meant for India to be honest - its too expensive. Should focus on football or general athletics. Sania Mirza could not popularize it.
