Exactly! Part of why this car isn’t as popular as it could be is that there’s no advanced series like with the MX-5. Some of the other tracks would be fantastic with this car, but unless the Vee gets an advanced series, it’ll never race there because they’re paid tracks.

Loved that race I have started I racing only a month ago and love the formula vee unfortunately I am using a joystick to drive so it's pretty hard with the throttle and brake either on or off but still fun, saving up for a Fanatec wheel and pedals then it will be even more fun! Did manage to win a race at Laguna seca though so I am happy, enjoy watching your videos, it's teaching me some of the race lines 😀

Formula Vee is hard to drive but if you get control of the car and learn the track you can get pretty good finishes ahead of all rookies who can't stay on track.

Hey Dave, after hours of your videos, I finally signed up for I Racing. I managed to race my way out of the rookie, and up to a D license today. I had to work my tail off for it, but I did it :) Got my first podium finish about 30 minutes ago, gonna call it a day before the luck runs out :) Thanks again, your videos have been invaluable.
Hey Dave, not that you care, but since I started this thing from watching your videos, I thought I would drop a update. 3 weeks in and I'm now class C with SR of 4.57, and around 1100- 1300 Irating, it bounces in between those . Got promoted during the middle of the season since my SR was above 4.0. Still learning every race, and every video. Having a ton of fun in the Skippies, Thanks again.
Way to go on the safety rating! That's the much more important number in my eyes. The Skippy is an awesome car if you get in a split with some decent safe drivers 😁

I did a race in these this morning, also with Cam Ebben, who led from the start and left the rest of us with an awesome battle for second. 2nd to 6th were all within a second! This little car and series is my new favorite.
Back off hols, had a very quick go in the vee, have to say you made it look easy. Great race! Always found aussies to be great to race with.
The iRacing version of FV is remarkably realistic. After years of racing FV at Laguna Seca on the old 1.9 mile track configuration, I finally got my first and second FV wins there in 1981. Would love to see you do the Sears Point/Sonoma Raceway track north of San Francisco too.

The offtrack has been removed in the season 2 release. I'm surprised no one noticed it in the release notes.
It was just some tracks. I was still getting off tracks here with just 2 tyres off track.
The incident timeline shows why it's a good thing that iracing added a rear engined car to the base content. I'd be right there with em at turn 5 lol.

The Vee's are tricky little suckers to drive Dave.
I also found if you let the throttle all the way off going into the turns you get compression lock-up's.
Absolute great fun to drive though.

Pretty nasty if you get compression lockups just from lifting off the gas, lol.

Dave, if I remember from the release notes for Season 3 is they have adjusted the "off track" for cars now so that it requires all 4 wheels to be off the racing surface to count. From the release notes..
"- - Our current off-track detection system checks for whether or not half or more of your vehicle has traveled beyond a racing surface boundary. The new four-tire detection system checks for whether or not all four of your vehicle tires have traveled beyond a racing surface boundary. Since the four-tire detection system requires more of your vehicle to be off of the racing surface before administering a penalty, this system is more forgiving."
I thought that was only at a couple of circuits? I still got off tracks here with only 2 wheels off the track so I guessed they had just fixed the last turn.

I think this car is a touch to difficult to drive for it to be Rookie class only. Would be great if it had a C-class series as well.

Bit cheeky Dave - you caused the crash into T2 @8:35 (we all make mistakes though) but didn't show it in the incident reel! C'mon man, warts and all in future please.
Cheeky? I just press ctrl and numpad 3 to cycle through the incidents and iracing shows me what it shows me. I never shy away and show everything there is to see. If I didn't as being sneaky I'd not show the incident at all 😳
@@davecamm Fair enough. I'm not familiar with the iRacing replays TBH but I did notice a sort-of similar thing in one of your other videos once where your crash didn't show up (I've been binging) and when I saw this one I jumped to a conclusion. Keep up the good work!

can you alter the gear ratios they seemed a little in the long side and not giving you enough acceleration.

Genuine question: wouldn’t that incident at T2 have been entirely Dave’s fault? The guy was along side him and Dave turned into the corner

Man, iRacing really needs to sort out their tyre physics... even without having driven this car, I can already see that it behaves wrong. Way too fidgety on the limit. Just like every single car in iRacing.
Worst car ever in iracing, mate you must be getting paid by iracing otherwise is just nuts that you keep promoting this car which has literally nothing to do with the actual car. Not just that but also the physics are like by far the worse in any car ever in this sim. Pls go test it in AMS2, they got the actual Formula V.
It's close fun racing in a fun car which I can get every hour. Where else can I get that?
