I LOVE lore videos like this.
Yeah! I am so glad! 😊
I found this connection just before I found the video and am so happy I'm not the only one making this connection! This is such a great video and a wonderful source of information for continuing my players' story now that we have just finished Wild Beyond the Witchlight! Thank you so much!!!
The Ravenloft Carnival is based on the 2e Ravenloft Carnival supplement which was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen for the setting. And 2e as well. If you can get hold of a copy, it's well worth having even if just for ideas.
The current lore for Isolde is completely different; the original lore had Isolde as an Astral Deva chasing a fiend into The Land of Mists.
Thank you! I will try and find it!!
I caught that connection and was so excited to realize I didn't make it up (I was first reading Witchlight immediately after ankle surgery while... not the most lucid)
Lol! Been there! Yes! It is a really cool connection!
Thank you so much for this. I am about to run the "Shadow" Carnival and one of my player sis DMing the Wild Beyond the Witchlight. I don't think that I will use the carnival as a portal between planes however there will be a full-length mirror covered with a cloth that allows Isolde or whoever is her wagon to spy on the goings on of the Witchlight Carnival
Really great video. Love how you drew the clear connections and then presented an awesome idea for an epic crossover adventure. So many fun things you can do with two carnivals that are twisted mirrors of each other. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much!
This is such a good video, and a fascinating connection! Thank you for making it!
Thank you so much!
By the pricking of my thumbs, something WitchLight this way comes
Thank you for the Macbeth reference! I didn't want to go full English teacher fan-girl! XD On the back cover it says, "Something wicked this way comes!" and that have NOTHING to do with why I love it so much...ok...maybe a little bit..
So D&D is doing crossover releases now nice. Building a larger mythos and developing that is so important to the brand. Now tell us what happened to the Circle of Eight and friends, like they did to the Baldurs Gate npc in the new Minsc and Boo Npc book
There are several little hidden Easter eggs in the newer modules! It is really great! Don’t get me started on Mordenkainen! That dude is EVERYWHERE 😂
@@HalflingHobbies I just bought Van Richtens guide to ravenloft and witchlight. My feelings on these are that they are two opposite sides of the same coin. Looking forward to finding Easter eggs. Got a hint? Is it greyhawk? What should I look for?
@@AAron-gr3jk I really think they are more connected than you might think at first…toys…look at the toys 😱
Thanks.
"You stole something as a child!"
"Could I have not stolen something as a child?"
"No."
That's my minor, tongue in cheek complaint.
I agree. I was not super impressed by the hooks either. I would rather use Fey connection and the warlock
I feel like they added that hook as a kind of "returning to Neverland" kind of feel, playing into the fairy tale inspiration, which I find more interesting. But I can see how that is not for everyone, and I am glad that they also added a more "standard" D&D plot hook.
@@HalflingHobbies
"Why can't I just choose my connection to this adventure?"
"Because."
"Fair enough!"
@@mattcorrigan2776 excellent point!
@@DannyBellTheAuthor not that I have ever used a campaign’s adventure book suggestions anyway lol 😂
