They burn a hole in your wallet and your spirit. You don’t leave feeling like a proud RE owner-you leave with regrets. And trusting the local mechanics isn’t an option either; it feels like playing Russian roulette with your safety and the bike’s longevity. Compare this to owning an iPhone. Sure, replacing a screen at an Apple service center might cost you a fortune-40 or 50k isn’t unheard of-but at least you walk out with a sense of pride and reassurance. That’s why I keep buying iPhones, despite the Samsungs of the world offering better specs on paper. With Apple, it’s not just a purchase; it’s peace of mind. But as an RE owner, there’s no such peace. Instead of feeling like I’m riding a legacy with every kilometer, I find myself longing for the reliability of a Honda CB350 or even a no-nonsense Activa 125. No matter how many new 650cc models Royal Enfield churns out every year, they’ve failed to fix the one thing that truly matters: customer trust. Owning a bike isn’t just about the thrill of the ride; it’s about feeling secure, respected, and valued. Sadly, Royal Enfield seems to have missed that turn entirely!
Watching this video sitting upon my 1979 RE in which today morning the kicker spring got cut and the gear is not shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Just pulling the neutral rod up with my hands to get into 3rd and 4th gear. Still it runs 😀😀 HAHA.......

Dear Arun, The most expected 650 twin from RE by me too like many others. But... The quality? I have been always dreaming about quality(real) and premium(real, not expensive or highly priced). I was expecting a high quality premium Scrambler for this price bracket. RE could have shed the weight with lightweight alloys in the frame, swingarms, wheels(with spoked tubeless tyres), handlebars, nuts and bolts, and, other possible parts; carbon fibres in possible parts to have the least possible weight to give birth to to a REal Scrambler, unlike the present heaviest Interceptor even with single exhaust. The unnecessary heaviest engine and crank must be designed minimalistic to scrap the weight for all models and variants of RE like the recent Himalayan 450 engine(only engine, all other parts needs to be in quality lightweight strong alloys). RE is really cheating us especially Indian bikers at this price with filmsy colours, design and marketing. And, regarding exhaust for a Scrambler, this single exhaust looks better. But again with premium alloys, it would have been much lighter. RE could have tried twin raised exhausts as in Triumph Scramblers (900 and other higher cc bikes, not like 400x). 1) I don't understand why RE is stressing too much on the history of naming which no one cares about. Almost 20k extra just for 249 numbering. Why? 2) 210kg+ kerb weight on an off road trail will work? Off road is where you drop it pick it ride again. I can't imagine dropping this machine and lifting up each time 3) I hear from Shumi' ( Motor Inc) that rear suspension is to stiff. I am quoting Shumi because he is a one we can all trust upon. Why would theh make a too stiff rear. If I want a perfect cruising machine Interceptor is a Right choice. For off road Himalayan is a perfect machine. Why would they make a machine in a halfway which it can't do both properly. I feel RE is missing out Indian market and expectation by trying to go globally fit. This machine may go well in Californian roads but Indian roads? RE has created a benchmark by making the best motorcycle the classic 350 series for Indian roads, but what are they trying to prove now? I think they should learn from Triumph a global maker trying to adjust themselves for Indian standards, our roads. They should bear the criticism of Bear with optimism and come back properly. Actually yes they have resolved that issue in this model as it gets the himalayans tft ... And surprisingly i have been using the fuel range it shows and it works amazingly

First let's understand this is not a scrambler at all, it's a mix of and a few upgrades of, with slight market people up that's all. RE has never called it a scrambler
jus remove the brake pads and check for scracthes, then check how the disc plate is(in case there is disc brake for rear). then check wheel alignment if alloy wheels or check wheel truing if spoke wheels.
I recently purchased a Meteor 350 a few days ago, and unfortunately, I've been experiencing the same issue. After an extensive argument with the service team, they finally replaced the rear wheel bearing, which had a slight movement causing the brake noise. Now its working fine

Not lubed properly, that's all. You can see Rust in any 650 chain if you wash it, and leave it without lube for more than 5 hours.
