I expected Shenhe to be either an adventurer or part of Liyue qixing and not a waitress but since she needs to train her murderous impulse of killing someone while trying to fit in the society, being a waitress does makes kinda sense.
I imagine her interview goes like this
Chef Mao: So why do you want to be waitress?
Shenhe: I'm trying to integrate myself back to society
Chef Mao: Interesting.
Shenhe: While also trying to supress my impulse to murder people on the spot.
