If there are positive programs in it, like "you are very lucky, things go your way, you make great money and love your work, you are fulfilled in life and know what you want. In New Orleans, we have a waterway "Bayou St John" that flows from the Lake up into the city (its NOT a Bayou; tiny little clean thing) One day: they went to check for a car for a missing lady from another part of town (wtf?! How did they think to look there?) Anywhose: I went by for the car pull and they'd already pulled out 12? 16? Other cars? In the middle of the city
So, there's things, even the most grittiest hard-core citizens (me😹) aren't being told about the neighborhoods we grew up in.

While not in this case, more often than not cops - even those not committing crimes - actively protect other cops. What makes this case different is the victim was also in policing. If it were a normal citizen and the police had any inclination the perp was a fellow officer it would have likely been handled very differently.

He eventually testified against the officers. He had a difficult time for awhile but ultimately he became a Sgt. and later a detective. He was shot in the line of duty years later. He survived but did retire in his 50s. Most police officers are good, honest people who take their jobs and their commitment to the public seriously.
