Fun fact: Easy is the only difficulty where Peach can't be saved. That means when she says "It can't have been easy for you to get here" she means it literally.
I don't know how streamers get so many tame levels but everytime I play super expert I always get the most impossible ones: 160sec frame perfect speedrun with midairs, speedrun level 3 tiles high that requires 80 walljumps for speed strats, impossible cape midair regrab 5x, find the falling hidden block after 20 seconds with key in it to clear level, Desert Bus 2, impossible precision spike jump 10 tiles from the flagpost, level that requires deep knowledge of item teleportation to clear.... it's so rare for me to get 5 consecutive levels that look remotely what is shown in these 100-man runs.

Personally I prefer the endless one, you always want to beat your record. The only stupid thing is the 30 lifes, 100 lifes would be perfect for a good endless mode
There's fewer hot garbage in smm2, and you can always set a goal as a real ending for yourself in endless, like thabeast does. His is 8 levels. Then you can keep playing if you win towards another goal, which is your personal non-skip best or just start another run, it's just a mentality thing if your own set goal is a real ending to you or if you need the 'credits screen' peach ending. The only thing that super expert smm1 has, in my opinion, over smm2 is the amount of lives. 30 lives are too little because you're still bound to find quite a few levels that are trial and error, blind jumps, trolls and so forth. That's just a life grind that takes plenty of the skill out of the equation. I say plenty, because you still have to able to perform the required inputs after going through the grind. So more lives are insurance against such levels.
I'm watching this super tired right before I go to bed and this is really bringing me back to when I used to watch these no skip runs before bed, Mario Maker 1 no skips just have this magic to them that Endless can never hope to have, this tension and an actual goal and everything. So thanks for doing these again!

SMM 100 Mario Super Expert has a beautiful tangible end goal where you beat the sixth stage and get big for Peach. I like that better than SMM2 Endless Super Expert
Hey Ryu, love your content, been recently getting into more kaizo and super expert levels in SMM2, when you are performing a shell jump do you hold the jump button or let go of it? I have heard and seen both are better, and just wondering what the real experts are doing!
LOVING the MM1 content! I feel like MM2 just doesn't have the same soul, you are 100% right when you say it's a different experience - much better content for viewing. It's always stressful to wonder if you'll make it during some runs, but with endless you know the player will die. The ending of every video is never a surprise - the player dies. You never get the same sense of victory as is possible with MM1 content. This makes for a repetitious viewing experience because there is no "larger story" to follow like you can when the run has a beginning and a end that can vary video to video, there is simply the gameplay of each individual level which was never the most interesting part. Hope you keep making MM1 content, I truly do enjoy it. You're awesome man!

Please PLEASE continue the MM1 videos, I've been so psyched when they pop up on my phone. Watching u play this game is what got me back into Not just mario, but back into games in general. MM2 is great but it doesn't offer the hot garbage we love sooo much!
I personally think the reasons why MM videos and streams are doing well are both the nostalgia factor and the refreshing experience, which has a positive impact on you and hence on us (you get pumped up, we do as well, we are here for you in the end). I think making those videos a regular thing would take away those factors, and it would diminish the fun and hype over time. Knowing that MM2 is not going to recieve any updates is a bit tough and almost put both games in the same level of stallness. But ultimately MM2 is the game that is going to keep evolving, new good levels and good creators will appear and be found, so that's why I think it will always have the edge in terms of content creation. Just my point of view tho, we will love your work anyways, so keep up and thanks for it!
Keep the MM1 stuffs coming until the server dies. At a quarter Million views each for these MM1 Videos i think it speaks for itself. And after they bake in RUclips for a bit i'd imagine a million views over time will start to prop up. :)
I don't know why but the funny softlock moments the true garbage and the utterly defeated face of Ryu sometimes make me laugh so much harder then any mario maker 2 super expert no skip runs he did. I don't know what it is but this so much funnier somehow.
I don’t know what time Ryu actually uploads where he’s from but for me he always uploads hella early in the morning and he the only one of my subs that uploads when I wake up way too early. Which I appreciate

It is absolutely beyond me that Nintendo decided to essentially put out 2 or 3 major patches to MM2 while it feels like so much more was added onto in MM1. The other weird thing about to me is them ended support for it feels unlike how they've been lately; they usually keep adding updates into games for a while.
@@Cheesehead302 is that a joke?. The SMM1 patches only add like 5 imprtant things, while in SMM2 they added 4 different game modes, 7 minibosses and 8 power ups and a world maker. The SMM1 patches were things that should be on the game already and when they introduced them into the game was very game changing

I agree a lot of the Mario Maker 1 things should have been there to begin with, but compare the change to the game with something like checkpoints in the first game. Sure it should have been there to begin with, but it changed the game significantly. I'm not trying to antagonize anyone, and I do think on the whole Mario Maker 2 is a better experience all things considered. But I really don't think its updates felt as game changing as some of the stuff in those Mario Maker 1 patches.
Honestly 100 lives and a definite finale just works so much better for RUclips videos. There's an end goal in mind, and 100 lives allows for some more difficult/janky levels to be included. If Mario Maker 2 at least had a super expert mode with a finale I think it would be a lot better.
Get the 3ds version instead, much cheaper and altho it doesn't let you submit your own levels, you can still enjoy others levels and it is useful for keeps
Never sell your old systems! I still have my 64, gamecube, and wiiU. Unfortunately my mom sold my snes at a rummage sale when I was like 13 a loooong time ago and I still dont let her live that one down 20 years later. I had all stars, jurassic park, tetris and dr mario, and a bunch of other great games. She sold it all for $10.

Then literally a year later I regretted it terribly lol. Ever since I keep any game I get, even if it's trash because who knows, one day I may have some purpose of it. Succeed or fail, it's just more enjoyable to watch 100MC... Though I still watch MM2 ofc.
It should definitely become a regular part of the lineup. As you said, the game is very different than SMM2. And being able to do 100 man runs again is awesome. Just not the same as endless.
