It should be clarified that the PAP plant wasn't there for 106 years, it was commissioned about 1980 to manufacture para- aminophenol by the Hydrogenation of Nitrobenzene, the basic ingredients for Paracetamol. This was at the time the lower cost option for manufacture of this product and closed down several other facilities in the UK. It was built on the site of the old Nitrobenzene Plant on Devonshire Works. The smaller and earlier of the two Centrifuges shown was built by Thomas Broadbent of Huddersfield and when it was commissioned passed through resonance and almost launched itself into space. The steel structure had to be modified to lower its resonant frequency.

It wasn't the site of the Nitro Benzene plant, it was between the Nitro Benzene plant and the PA Warehouse.
The Nitro Benzene plant supplied PAP for a short while until it was decided to tanker Nitro benzene in.
Part of the Nitro Benzene plant and the "Summit Sidings" were outcropped for the coal
IIRC there used to be a cell room there (Chlorate?)
I'm Tony Sneath and started there when the DCA was first manned up (17th November 1975)
To fill in my time before DCA started, I went helping out in the Diuron plant.
I have to admit that the Broadbent fuge scared me off from going to the PAP plant
