very inventive! i'm always looking out for a better minnow pattern. and this is perfect. i'll bet this will work on a number of fish species here in New York. can't wait to try it out. i'll let you know what i catch. thanks.
Barry does it change anything as the braided mylar comes unraveled from teeth? I do something very similar with several patterns, but I unravel the tubing a bit more. It may even help that pattern become more effective? I find it sparkles wildly and seems to attract them on a sunny day. I think if I put a black and gold felt marker stripe on it, this will work for Northern Dace imitation. Thanks Barry
Excellent pattern Barry, that should do well now at ice out and throughout the spring when the minnows cruise the shallows... followed by all the bigger predators. Yum! Thanks! PS, I forgot, I'm not familiar with that hook. Is it similar to Mustad's C47SD? I think the finish may be different. Thanks again.
Hi Aiden, I don't see why not. There is a trend now to tie huge pike flies, but I have caught some serious pike on small nymphs and sea trout streamers.
The feather bender I did a google search and it seems a lot of other people are having the same problems. I tried again fly tying, today, shows videos that a 6 - 10 years old hahahaha.
The feather bender the only video I get that’s from today is one of davie’s videos from 2hrs who the rest are from years ago. I really like this fly as well and I’ll tie some up and try them this week. I have a pattern you could try out, minnow pattern fly has to be 3in long, jig hook size 1 or 2, oversized tungsten bead, body EP fibers white underbody and top chartreuse. And if you add that Mylar it would be even better as the tail would get even more action. The fly has to be on the slim side as well Deadly as hell on browns and bows and I would say it would work on sea run trout as well. I call it the domin8tor.
Sounds good! @@flydryriver4966 I have asked 100 subscribers about the notification and over 70 have replied and say they have got the notification today, so maybe its something your side? I can't check further my side until I post another video.
I will be tying some of these up. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks James, good luck with it.
Brautiful! I’ll try this one with the cutthroats when the salmon fries start appearing. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Felipe, good luck with it.
Very nice, thanks, Barry.
Thanks Gordon.
I really like the look with the mylar shimmer. So fishy looking. I am going to tie up a bunch of these for next trip in big water.
Danny
Thanks Danny, let me know how you get on.

Hi Kerry, the mylar does work better when its been fished a little and becomes a little more scruffy.
Very cool pattern - will be trying this for salt water I think.
Good tie Barry, where did you get the eyes from. Merry Christmas
Owen
sorry only just got this comment from You Tube. The eyes are from Funky FlyTying.
Крутой Малек получился.

@@Thefeatherbender I will. But what about your hook, is it similar to Mustad's C47SD? Thanks
Hi Joe, yeah not too far off, its actually a carp hook with a black nickel finish but the C47 in a # 2 would do the job.
@@Thefeatherbender Cool. Thanks Barry!
would you tie it in a larger size for SALT?
Hi Diana, you could do if you wish, but this has worked very well in the salt for me, in this size.
what for a miracle a bait? I will surely connect such in the collection. Thanks!!!
Thanks Andrew.
I say that be a good fly for pike???

👍
Here in Ohio I think that would make a great Smallmouth bait
Interesting to hear if it works Mike.
Something’s wrong with RUclips as I am not getting notifications on any ew videos, plus, you can’t do a search for today’s video’s either.
Hi FDR, Thanks but I have just checked and nothing wrong here that I can see, just did a search and it came up right away!
