I am a loner by nature. I use to think that something was wrong with me, but I learned to embrace it. And as I have gotten older, I have learned to embrace it and celebrate it, even.
It took me a long time to realize being a cog for the status quo was something I am simply incapable of doing. "if it aint broke, don't fix it" is one of the most absurd fallacies in the history of mankind. It works so accept it? No thanks because I KNOW whatever it is, it doesn't universally work for everyone.
In my junior and senior HS years, my oldest brother would mock me for staying at home reading and eating ice cream, instead of doing what he did which was going out and getting drunk or high every single night. My pattern of separation from others continued as an adult as did my brother's behavior of being drunk all the time. He died 23 years ago by suicide and I'm still me.

I realized when I got betrayed from all sides. How I handled it was not the norm. I found out it wasn’t normal. I let it happen. It was unfortunate but the lessons are the only thing that can stick. No issue not looking back at all.

Now long retired, the Sigma path explains a lot about my career trajectory in always seeking jobs that provide for maximum independence and creativity. Possessing an overwhelming drive to explore new things and to continually improve myself, I have always felt my ability for self-reliance and deep introspection gave me the freedom to fully concentrate on those values important to me. Being aware of existing social structures, but indifferent to them, gave me the latitude to deal directly and honestly with everyone I have met, regardless of their self-determined status in life. Having the self-confidence to learn from one's mistakes and improve oneself accordingly is a necessary part of life once one realizes that we are all solely responsible for our own lives. I sometimes would mention that I would be just fine existing alone on a desert island and it was quite rare when anyone would realize that I was being quite serious. Being a Sigma is evidently quite rare and often misunderstood, but I wouldn't trade a second of it for anything in the world. Seriously.
Been this way my whole life. Even in sports I was always self motivated. The whole team could be rowdy and I'd be quiet and still go out there and give it my all.
I agree the ehole social media wave is a turn off for me. I grew up during a time were friends actually met face to face and pkayed and hung out.
I never saw myself as a sigma male, but many of the trades are spot on. However, I'm not really trying to grow. I'm just trying to live my life as I want 🙂
What I find frustrating, hilarious, stupid, yet useful is the fear many females have of me. Knowing I am no one to fear, it only reinforces my beliefs. Of note, the women who tend to be unsettled around me are the very ones I want staying away. You know, the "modern" woman who literally seeks out the actual creeps. Some are beautiful, outwardly, so their attitude toward me makes it easy to resist such temptation.
I feel this on a personal level. I was the person that everybody was friends with but never fit in into any structure. As I’ve aged, I’ve been more reclusive working on what truly matters to me. I feel society is going down the path of partaking in pointless things that quite frankly “won’t matter when we die”
Yes, the future matters. It matters FAR more than our own lives. I could abandon all hope and care for the present if it didn't determine the future. One thing I'd like to note as inspiration from watching a movie. Is about being a creature of habit. Because I do in my own personal time like to have a set routine.
And the inspiration I got about it, is that being a creature of habit makes your every move easily traceable and trackable. Which can be dangerous if used maliciously. But at the same time, when you do the same thing every single day, nothing ever changes. So when something does change, even something a normal person wouldn't spot, it's made quite obvious to me. When everything is how it should be I know it. And when something is even a slight bit off, it's like moving it entirely for a normal person.
Having a routine is quite beneficial. Because it keeps you punctual. You know exactly where you'll be and when. So it makes it easier for planning around that.
Although when it comes to planning around that routine, it's easy to be spontaneous when not constrained to that routine. Being unpredictably predictable.
Knowing that it's going to happen. But not knowing what will happen when it does keeps people on their toes

Sigma males often find me interesting at first. I'm not alpha, beta or whatever you're used to. Two sigma types have told me, before walking away, that I'm the only person that they felt afraid of, not me, but what I am. Not because I threatened them in any way, but because I am thoroughly unpredictable in thought and action. I make them nervous. The one sigma that is my friend told me that were I not his friend, I would be his worst nightmare. No idea what kind of man I am, but I'm quite happy.

From my point of view we are all interchangeable, some are born alpha, some are born beta. An alpha can stay alpha his whole life or can have a downfall, depending on others characteristics of his personality and how he handles circumstances of life. A beta can become alpha or sigma. The strength in sigma is that it is very unlikely to have a downfall since you don't rely on anybody but yourself and don't need external validation which makes you highly resilient which in turn builds up your emotional intelligence with each set back that life's throws your way.
Again this is just my perspective, it doesn't make it truth
