Beautiful cherry tomatoes, looks easy to grow. Thank you for this video. I usually grow in 5 gallon buckets, but I’ll try couple 3 gallon this year.
So refreshing to know that you guys are truly grateful and thankful for all that the Lord has blessed you with. How wonderful to hear you say a prayer of thanks at the end of this video. Worship Him in all His splendour and majesty!
Hollis & Nancy! Thank you for being so thorough! It takes so much time to make videos like these! I greatly appreciate your time!
Fantastic video! Big help for me getting my containers started. Greetings from Greenville, NC.
I Love watching plants grow from seeds! God Is Amazing!
Lord my brother!! Those tomatoes look so good!!! I wish I lived in a climate where I could grow Year round like you and Nancy. I grew some carrots over the fall and never could get my greens to take off and grow so going to try them again this spring when I get my raised beds up and going. I raised my tomatoes last year in containers and going to get me some blood meal this year to miss with my bone meal. The Epsom salt really does work, I took tums last year ground them up and used those for my calcium and it worked amazing.
I have loved watching your channel for years! I was so happy to see your new place a few years back I know it is something you and Nancy really wanted. I have learned so much from you both and would love to come and visit this summer if you would be willing?
Thank you for the beautiful content of the progression of the tomato plant life from seed to harvest.
Without a doubt, you and Nancy are my favorite to watch on YT. God bless!
Thanks for sharing this video! I’m a gardener too and I’m researching all the things I can grow in containers. I’m happy it led me to find you. I’m so happy it did your channel has so much to offer! This is very helpful. Thanks for teaching me something new. I hope we can learn more from each other as we grow our gardens and our channels!
You're the best. Been watching for a few years...best cherry tomatoes I've ever grown. Love your videos!
Wow, thank you!
Hollis, you rarely talk about maintaining garden plants and the pests and diseases that have to be felt with. I would like to see you add pest and disease control, especially organic gardening methods to your videos. Thank you to you and Nancy for all the wonderful videos you do and for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.
Just saying you 2 people seems so nice, Thanks for teaching me
Just got my Johnny's catalog in Ill keep these in mind when Im making my seed order, I grow a lot of plants in grow bags and buckets these would be perfect, good to see you Hollis and Nancy!
Thank you. I love tomatoes more than anything! I love in Old Town. Going to grow my own. I always ate Ruskin tomatoes when I lived in LAKELAND. Miss them.
Great tip on how to avoid blossom end rot.
I usually take the bottom leaves off and bury abit deeper.

I’m really enjoying your videos. I’m a new gardener, very small scale on my urban balcony. Thanks for the tips! ❤️🌱
Just ordered some Washington Cherry tomatoes. I will plant the seeds the day I get them. I will grow them in as much sun as they will take. It is April 30th but giving it a shot because they are determinate and maybe harvest by Mid June. I can move them to shade as needed. I am harvesting lots of other cherry tomatoes right now so no problem if they don't make it. I'll do ten plants for this year and save the other seeds (250) for cooler weather. I'm excited to see them grow. Thanks for all your help.
A couple of years ago..I learned from Jess at Roots and Refuge to put a cracked egg in the holes when planting tomatoes...best harvest I've ever had..
Hollis Thank you so much for Sharing❤️ I have learned so much from watching your videos!! god bless you both!!
Thank you so much for this video - it means spring will be coming eventually. Here in midwestern Ontario, Canada our temperature is to get down tonight to -35 degrees C. (-31 degrees F.) and we have about 2 feet of snow on the ground. You harvested your tomatoes May 26 and that is just about the time we are able to plant ours. But we get them eventually. I will use your tips for planting our cherry tomatoes this year. Thanks again.
Oh my! Keep the fire going tonight🔥 Thanks for watching. Spring will be here before you know it even though it may not seem so right now. Until then, hope our videos will help you enjoy your time of relaxation beside the fire❤️
Tomatoes are my favorite garden food! Will have to try the three gallon containers this year. Thanks for all the helpful information. God Bless.
Saves on the soil. I only do this with determinate small patio cherry tomatoes.
Thank you again Mr. Hollis.👍
Love all the videos... it takes a lot of determination to put that much work into each one of your videos..God bless you too
Do you remember if you had to water the plants throughout the growing season? I recently moved to Idaho from Florida. There is so little rain here!!! Loving your videos. Subscribed today! You give info for the person with OCD for sure! Thank-you! God bless you.
Thank you. God bless.
Good day Hollis and Nancy..

It’s still cold here too. Thanks so much for sharing our videos!!! Enjoy your garden this spring ❤️❤️🐶
Do you do any further fertilizing during the growing time or just the initial blood, bone, epsom salt, and lime?
I'm praying for you and Nancy 💗💗💗
Thank you for the prayers. We are going through some struggles right now. We place it all in the Lord’s hands🙏
Best place for it to be. One thing we know is He knows and He sees. Keep the faith brother.

We love containers
Thanks Hollis! Nothing like a tomato right off the vine!
Man, I can't wait for growing season this year in Missouri!
Sometimes it seems spring will never get here!!!!
Thanks they are huge. I will order some seeds.
amazing set up
I'm surprised you didn't plant deeper to encourage more root production. Good info for enhancements to soil. Thanks.
It doesn't produce more tomatoes
Hi, I really enjoy your channel. In Maine, born and bred. It's surprising to me you are using our local Johnny's Selected Seeds way down there. I guess the word has gotten out how great their seeds are. My parents started buying their seeds in the '70s when I was just a kid. sending love to all, ~tjb~
I have used Johnny’s for years. Good quality seeds. I like their tools too.
Those look so good
Another beautiful video. Thank you
Oh yes started doing this last year. Worked out well!
👍
Yummy!! Those were beautiful!! Here’s to hoping mine turn out as purdy! ☺️☺️☺️
You can do this👍
Good info to plant and grow by...I have two steno pads full of your knowledge...gonna put it to use this grow season...thanks and God Bless
Enjoy your garden this spring ❤️❤️🐶
Big beautiful tomatoes! I hope our nasty southeast weather hasn’t harmed the crops or chickens!
We are in for record lows this weekend. Bracing for impact

your tomato sounded so good when you bit into it.. I can't wait till mine have there fruit.
I'm boosting my soil iny beds here in alabama, cabin fever, even though I won't be starting seeds for several weeks. GOT my seeds though. Bless and live uou,
Great time to do garden prep! It will pay off in the spring👍👍👍
Thank you for sharing
Good morning sir, I was wondering if the fertilizer blend you use for your tomatoes on planting is the only fertilizing you do to them while they are growing or do you supplement with something during the season. They look quite healthy!!
I did not have to add anymore fertilizer during the growing phase. However, if your plants do not look healthy and growth is slow then fertilize with a balanced liquid fertilizer
May God bless you for sharing your knowledge and love of Gardening with us. I havelearned sooooo much from your channel. How long did this variety take from seed to harvest?
About 70 days
thank you great video
It would be nice if you listed all those fertilisers you use in the descriptions below. Thanks. Great video.
I can't wait to get my tomatoes going 😊 I'm going to get them on the grow table soon ✌🏼 😊 ty for the video
You are very welcome ❤️
Hi Mr. Hollis and Ms. Nancy! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love for gardening with us. What zone are you gardening in?
Thanks for watching Patricia, we are in Zone 9A
Another great video thank you
love all your tips and that please show how to make your planting boards

@@HollisNancysHomestead the planting peg boards for spacing plants
Hi. Very informative. Thanks. Also, thank you for adding dates of planting !! Yes, I know there are different growing zones, but I get an idea of about when you start them. Hollis didn't have to fertilize during the growing season? Will Bing Bing ever get a friend to run around the garden with? Peace to you and yours
I didn’t fertilize these but if your plants show yellowing before fruit set then fertilize them with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Bing Bing has a friend that lives next door. He comes over every morning to poop in front of our front door then he and Bing Bing go rabbit hunting together. 🐶
@@HollisNancysHomestead oh Lordy 🤣
Thank you Sir
How long are your bamboo stakes in the 3 gallon cherry tomato plants ? Love all of the videos you both make.
24”
Thank you for the video! Epsom salt, lime, blood and bone!
Very informativo.🤗thanks
Can’t wait! Most definitely will try growing this year. Thank you Hollis & Nancy. God Bless you. ❤️
Enjoy your garden this spring ❤️❤️🐶
Amen bro lovely
Hello Hollis how much land do you and nancy own it look like you own a very very big land for planting.
Our homestead is 15 acres
Great video
Love your videos
Thank you so much for watching ❤️
hiii🙂👋💜 I love your videos. it's been so helpful. 😊 my question is do ever reuse your soil for other plants?
I sometimes save my soil from potatoes and amend it for reuse for vegetables other than potatoes or tomatoes. For the smaller containers I usually don’t save it. I use it to fill in holes around the roads on my homestead
I love ur videos 🥰
Do you add any other fertilizers to the plants while growing or only the initial feeding at the start?
If your plants are growing poorly then add a liquid fertilizer (Balanced)
@@HollisNancysHomestead Thank you for the quick reply. Not a big tomato eater myself but I'm wanting to try growing some for my parents and friends so will be following your video.
👍
Hollis, any way you can touch on your fertilization in between. You mention when you planted the plants but nothing inbetween to when you are picking tomatoes.
No further fertilizer was needed during the life of my tomatoes on these
My wife and I heard a bunch of purple martins in a couple of spots during the video. How big is your colony? Those are her favorite birds. Thanks for the tomato tips. Gonna give that a try.
They are wild around here. We haven’t tried to attract them
How do you keep stink bugs off your tomatoes? Love to watch you guys work together ❤
Hollis and Nancy, Really enjoy your channel and the wealth of information you present in each video. I have been gleaning from your wealth of knowledge and expertise for growing and producing excellent food! Enjoy the way you present in such a way that is easy to understand and use audiovisuals for each step in the process. As a former nursing educator I really appreciate your teaching and presentation styles. Most of all I appreciate the fact that you two are faith based and give God all the credit through our Lord Jesus Christ!! Don't change! I want to pick your brains just a second. I do most all of my growing in 40 gallon containers and as I prepare to amend my soil in these containers using the model you use Hollis, my question is when using the bone meal and blood meal can I use lobster/crab meal in addition to these 2 or should I use either bone meal or lobster/crab meal, not both? I live in rural south Mississippi.
I would only use one or the other, not both. The plant can only take up so much. Don’t want to waste it
@@HollisNancysHomestead Thanks, will do
Aloha Hollis & Nancy, do you top dress more fertilizer later? How long after if so. Mahalo, from Big Island, HI. 🤙🏽🥰
I don’t usually have to fertilize after the initial planting in the containers. However, if your plants do not look healthy and seem stalled, give them a balanced liquid fertilizer
Nice tomatoes
anyway you could tell us where you got the wire baskets?
Do determinate tomato plants get suckers? Do you pinch them?
I don’t bother with them on determinates.
Great video. I'll have to try this type BUT how do you manage horn worms??

I love your videos! I am growing tomatoes now and hopefully mine will turn out ok. I followed your video detailing how to plant potatoes in containers. I used your measurement markings also. A few days ago on April 22, 2022 I checked on my potatoes and discovered that leaves were growing on top finally! I was so excited! I checked again just TWO days later when the weather was warm and sunny and the leaves grew even more like crazy! Now I'm waiting for the leaves to grow over the top of the bucket so that I can add more soil. I can't wait to see the end results! I hope everything turns out well! This is my first time growing potatoes and just trying to grow my own food! Thanks for sharing your videos! 😀
You are doing a great job👍👍👍🥔🥔🥔
Do you sell any of these veggies?
I just use one stick then twirl yarn or thick colored string around it loosely but tight enough to secure the plant to stay and no fall or bend over going up to top and then knot it on top
I love it when Bing Bing helps out. I thought you needed a 5g bucket.
My trucking company has decided to delete the dedicated acct I'm on. Been on this acct for over 5yrs. I know when my hometime is. That's all gone now. Last day on account is Feb 25. So sorry about your account. Praying for God to bring an even better one your way. 🙏
Very good video! Let me pick your brain for a minute. My wife had bought a cherry or grape tomato from the store and is absolutely the sweetest salad tomato I have ever eaten. Of course, we ate them all and didn't bother to save any seeds. Can't no longer find them in the store and I was wondering if you might know what variety it might be. I grow a few Sun sugar and they are a good tomato but I prefer the other one if I find out what it was.
We have a video coming out in March on Gold Nugget Cherry Tomatoes. It was pretty good. We have a video coming out in April on 5 Star Grape Tomatoes. It was pretty tasty too
Thanks for the reply. I promise you that it's the sweetest tomato I have ever tasted. It's just like they fell off the face of the earth. Can't remember the name of them. Hopefully what you are describing is the one I'm looking for
Another cherry I like but must be grown in the ground is the Celebrity 100 Super Sweet (Indeterminate). It is a very sweet cherry tomato
@@HollisNancysHomestead I have grown them in the past and yes, they're a goodun but these were even better. Don't know if they doctored them up during the growing but they are some kind of sweet. If I ever do run across them again, I'll definitely let you know.
👍
You sure have a green thumb. Hollis, I was wondering what kind of watering wand and sprayer you use? 8 looked on your Amazon store but I didn’t see it. 8 might have overlooked it. Thank you.
Thanks for checking out AMAZON Storefront. Yep, it’s not on there. I got it at LOWES. It’s made by ORBIT. It’s on the isle with the garden hoses
@@HollisNancysHomestead thank you.
When did you move? Those tomatoes look great!
Yes sir, we moved to Florida in November 2017
May the Good Lord continue to make His face shine upon you and give you both pease.
How much does your soil cost to make? Also the additives like phosphorus etc.? How long do the additives last, do you have to buy some every season/year? Do the cherry tomatoe plants regrow the next year or do you have to make them from seeds every year?
What's with the deer fence. Also what is the shelter behind you

Have you ever tried dollar tree seeds? You get 4 packets of seeds for a dollar. I would love to see you try some for those of us that are really struggling to eat healthy with very little money.
What tiller/cultivator do you use? Has it lasted a long time? And if it has, will it go through tough, never tilled dirt?
I have a large walk behind deep tiller for working never worked soil. It’s a Troy Bilt. You can see me using it on our garden soil video. The small cultivator you see me using in a lot of my videos is a HONDA 1 HP. It is on our AMAZON Storefront on the About Tab on our channel. The last on I had lasted me 7 years. I have had the one I have now for 6 years and it is still going strong. ruclips.net/video/Wgiv8jhyFWs/видео.html
