I did recive the new regular Vstrom 1050 few weeks ago. I did make my first short 300 km Alps ride and bike did great. Brakes, suspension quickshifter are great. Power could be a touch more, seat is on the hard side. I did order and still waiting for heated grips and Akrapovic as option. All in all a good bike since I did ride the new 2022 KTM 1290 SAS for a year before it got stolen and my expectations are high. Bike is extremly stable at high speed much, much more than the 2019 Vstrom 1000 XT that I also had.
Thanks for the video in English 👍
Why does this cost a lot more than the base Africa Twin?
That’s a great question. lol. At least in the US most Suzuki including this are usually heavily discounted. This list price for a 2023 1050 de was 1599. They are now being advertised as low as 11500 brand new. Pretty easy to find them in the 11500-13k range. Hondas don’t really get discounted at all.
on road,how it handles?changing directions fast,in turns?
It's not designed for fast change in directions its due to the 90 dagree vtwin engine and its on the heavier side tho its not as high up in ground clearance as the T7 or the Africa twin 1100 .
If it was me I'd go Africa twin 1100 adventure sport as it has a 24.8 liter tank with a tank range up to 460km from full to empty.
Id then take the Tenere 700 world raid next as it has the same ground clearance as the Africa twin . But the T7 has duel tanks claiming 23.5 liter with 460km claimed but more like 390km to 400km tank range .
Then I'd put tye 1050 de on the list at number3 .
So
1 Africa twin
2 tenere 700 world raid
3 1050DE
well, I can only compare the road version 1050 with my 2019 v strom 650 xt and I was blown away how nimbler and more agile the 1050 felt. Even at low speed maneuvers, although it's 25 kilos heavier. I would be curious about a comparison between the road version and the DE version ... see how much the raised height, 21 inch front and extra weight make a difference for road use.
First😃 Transalp also worth thinking about.
Suzuki is being stingy with Horsepower. So for those that wan't great power from their bikes, they have no choice but to be stingy with their money.
