Came back to this video after Zekken was just the best duelist in the VCT Americas Kickoff. Obviously VCT is a lot different from ranked but his entries in VCT were *so* clean and his fundamentals were nailed down like you explained here. Good stuff.
"He did not go for hero plays or clip plays at all. I thought this was pretty interesting because after watching how other pro duelists like *proceeds to name 3 PRX members* played it was much different and they would overheat a lot."
really enjoyed this. i would like to humbly request an analysis of suygetsu's playstyle, who i think has a very unique playmaking aggressive style on a role normally treated as a passive one. we all know his aim is absurd but deeper observations like the ones here would be great :D
Great video! I really like the chapters, and text on screen. I was sad to notice the text seemed to go away as the video went on. Maybe the text could be used to emphasize a point, or a mini paragraph to explain a divergent thought. (That way it keeps viewers engaged with pausing or rewinding.) Thanks for the top tier valo content
this was actually very informative. i really liked the no-util contact up playstyle that lets me have util left for when im in postplant. seems very viable
This is crazy good. Can you do the same thing with nAts or Suygetsu? They are undoubtedly the best sentinel mains that play ranked regularly. I love watching Eggsterr (I'm a yoru main) but his playstyle is so dynamic that I don't know how to incorporate it into my own gameplay. Sometimes he's peek early, and sometimes he's playing back, and I can't identify when to do what. If at any point you get to Eggsterr, it would be much appreciated.
Key takeaways: 1. Make simple but vocal callouts for your team 2. Play off teammates and util while pushing an area, trusting your mechanics 3. (Playstyle exclusive) play behind buildings and on backsite in early rounds to act as a fast rotator
Great vid, great editing, great analysis. I watch a lot of Jinggg and Ray4c and being a firecracker myself (redheads, amirite?), I definitely look to take fights and space, so it works for me. But I've also realized recently my mechs are better than I thought, and so I feel a more reserved, but aggressive playstyle valuing my life more ("it's a video game, who cares if I die?") Could be huge for me climbing
Tbh in the haven clip with the drone he waited for it to clear too short because people (like Jett awp) peek at the last second to catch someone running up that lane with drone on the split clip he’s just taking space with the dog
Players like sinatraa(on raze) and zekken find their most value in retake scenarios on defense, people like jingg dont value util later on in the round because he understands how to perfectly trade off teammates, he's just overly confident that hes util usage in the first 30s will atleast get him a kill, and depending on who he kills(e.g. kj with ult online) that kill could be of more value than hes own life, duelists should majority of the time have this selfless playstyle every game, zekken is just wayyy more cautious in the first half of the round than other duelists, but he understands where and when to take these fights, to get the type of experience to know when and where, it comes with trial and error honestly and depends game to game
The problem with "saving util" is the fact that none of us are zekken, we simply don't have that type of mechanical skill, esp. in lower Elo it's always better to just let the util clear for you instead of dry peaking like that.
As a Raze main I usually start with a more jinggg really aggro style but if I find myself dying too much move towards zekken’s playstyle or vice versa depending on their team comp
6:05 Well, I remember when he was playing against PRX in the afreeca tv, 1st match of the tourney , map 2(sunset), he insta-satcheled mid tiles and got punished twice. He didnt get a single pick off of that type of a play, and maybe why he likes to play away from the barrier . (Not questioning his explosive ability or him being unable to do that, just agreeing to dopais point and showing how maybe hes not used to those instant pushes.)
how many of his games did you watch to make this? Interested to know how much time it takes to fully adopt a pro players play-style. Great video by the way ❤
I love your review though I came away with one question, when it comes to his flood retakes (specifically his decisions not to) does that have to do if JohnQT is on site flooding when he is not playing more passive when he is? I don't know and I think it would be interesting to see how players of this caliber adapt there play based on known teamates skill.
i wish i could follow his thought process. but what it looks like to me, is he simply didn't want to risk his life. my guess is that if he "feels" it's risky, he'll opt for the safer play more often times than not b/c he doesn't want to take bad duels
the AMOUNT OF TIMES my duelist just randomly dash in without any communication and then die without being able to get traded is insane - hope they all see this and just call "i want a smoke here" or "im going in now, follow me", that would make them win sooooo much more games
I woudnt call him the best Player of NA even if he is consistently rank 1. He ist probably the best duelist but beeing consistent Rank 1 on other roles is just way harder because you need teammates to perfom aswell.
I dont know but his playstyle is dumb and rewarding because people are not ready for him in ranked to play like that. I'm not in favor with his play style he could be more cracked on other agents as well if he was that good...
i'm not sure if i understand. are you trolling? he's literally ended top of the ladder. Rank 1 4 times in a row. He also has good performances across all of the roles when he fills
@@mrploopy8189 Why do you think his play style isn't good for ranked? I agree they do have the aim to back it up. but i dont think i'd agree with "his playstyle isn't good for ranked". Jinggg & Zekken both play ranked with that playstyle because it's ranked, if you watch their tourney matches it's different even though PRX is known for running it down. it's still different.
@@Dopai I meant from a viewer perspective, or someone newer, or just looking for tips on how to play raze their playstyle is not viable and harder to find success. They can back it up with their inhuman aim thats because both Jing and Zekken are top aimers in the entire world :manshrug
woah i like this type of analysis, not just one vod, but a summary of his general way of playing
Dude has his eyes super wide open that’s why he’s so good.
zekken with eyes closed might be super powers
If we can get him sniffing the screen like subroza does, he may become unbeatable
Came back to this video after Zekken was just the best duelist in the VCT Americas Kickoff. Obviously VCT is a lot different from ranked but his entries in VCT were *so* clean and his fundamentals were nailed down like you explained here. Good stuff.
Now he's the best duelist in Masters Madrid!
this is lit, I would love to see more pro reviews like this one.
Nice breakdown / analysis. Zekken is just tooooo damn good.
zekken is the perfect example of disciplined duelist
"He did not go for hero plays or clip plays at all. I thought this was pretty interesting because after watching how other pro duelists like *proceeds to name 3 PRX members* played it was much different and they would overheat a lot."
Like this format a lot great idea + pls do more duelist pros

I hard agree with this. I dont really call myself a suy fan, but I really enjoy how aggressively he gets value on support roles

great video as always
how do you know????
I think itd be dope to do this for all the consistent top 1 players, s0m gets it often, jinggg and the other two prx usuals, curry
'He values his life so he doesnt force anything unfavorable' I'm taking that for life

Sick video overall mate, love the style and the info
THESE VIDEOS ARE REALLY GOOD DOPAI
Great analysis and breakdown video!
this should be a series
amazing vid, would love to see this for other roles too
liked this editing style quite a bit! really easy to digest

Very good vid it was clean and to the point
3:19 the consistensy of his peek... its identical lol
this is so helpful tysm!

Yes. Dopai. I would like to learn to play like SEN Zekken.
GenG Super studying this rn to find the weakness in his gameplay

3:32 transition tho... perfecto
this is great tutorial keep going bro
I love this type of content. Can you make some for APAC players?
JohnQT is such a monster - to have a duo like him is a true dream :D I wonder how Sentinels will do in 2024. As always Dopai - great vid :)
I know this is a late comment but I'm glad they won VCT NA play ins
aged well
This is helpful!
rly good. nice

can you do s0m and aspas?
one of the first people to watch this video thanks
yes def more of this

i find it funny that when talking about other duelists not playing disciplined in post-plant he named three paper rex players
8:20, why don't you think most people can follow his early rotate ideas? is it a skill gap with how to capitalize on it?
he's playing in rad lobby so his teammates know how to delay site/fight site
more of this pls
Very informative! Would love to get a video like this for sova/skye/yoru
great video, im getting out of bronze with this
MORE MORE MORE MORE VIDS
Thx for the viedeo
can you do the same for aspas? (as he was the best duelist for almost 1.5 years)
this so good analysis can u for s0m ?
i like this video a lot
Could you do a video on asuna?
6:21 he got 2 kills, why did the kill counter show only one?
Can you break down how suygetsu plays
thx bruv
sick video
i wanna know ur rank im just afraid of false guides but u sound legit
When are u coming live
wait MOXIE is his alt?? this kid is insane
Good video

Music? Sounds epic
Don't compare NA ranked with APAC (singapore server), it's different
Yo can u do zellsis plz I love this video thanks a lot
Do Aspas! and his movement pls
Lit content
Can you do aspas
Zekken has been playing in Tier 1 for a long time, most of the time, he would just follow basic protocols and just be good at it.
Average Wopai
I like the raze ones
pure gold
He played a lot of sova before so maybe its just how he’s used to play
great tutorial but NA Radiant
I thought Zek and Maxie were two dif people???
is it just me or his crosshair feels a bit blocky
do sinatraa next
lmao
zekken will be the faker of valorant mark my words.
lfg
its not rocket science he does the most basic stuff
I woudnt call him the best Player of NA even if he is consistently rank 1. He ist probably the best duelist but beeing consistent Rank 1 on other roles is just way harder because you need teammates to perfom aswell.
zekken is definetly not the best player NA. He's really good but certainly not the best
yeah but almost none of this applies to lower elo aka the majority of players
