This demo is to show you how to synchronize a drum machine pedal to your looper - in this case the BeatBuddy and the Aeros Loop Studio.
I'm going to show you what kind of cables to use, where to plug them, and all it all works to perform with both perfectly synchronized.
Here's the list of things I showed in this video below (you can get 10% off on any of them by applying my code ANTOINE 10 at checkout - *disclaimer, those are affiliate links):

Great video! More of this stuff for sure. Breaking the equipment down and showing how the pieces work together if fantastic! Keep it up.

    Thank you Antoine.
But this is the best case.
How can we do when no midi sync on machines?
For instance between a Digitech SDRUM and a TC Electronic Ditto+.
Have you some tips to share here?

I mean, if something doesn't have MIDI ports, it doesn't have MIDI functionalities/capabilities. The principle is always to use a MIDI OUT cable on the one you want to be the primary control, and the MIDI IN in the one that receives the MIDI signal. At a quick glance, it looks like the SDRUM doesn't have any MIDI ports on it.

Ide like to see what you could do with a Polyend step. It looks like a cool pedal

Hi Antoine, great video, thank you! Still got one doubt though. I assumed the AEROS song part 1 one was slaved to BB song part 1. Also for other song parts 2, 3, etc. But from your demo I get the Idea that the BB functions as the PLAY button on the AEROS. Meaning, when you arm the desired Song Part (any) on the AEROS with NEXT PART, and then a BB Song Part change (any) occurs, the AEROS commences play back of the armed AEROS Song Part. Am I on the right track (no pun intended)? It looks the Song Part number on the BB is irrelevant for which AEROS song part is started.

Thanks! What can get confusing is that there are 2 modes on the Aeros: 2x2 and 6x6. In the 2x2 mode, the parts are indeed ''slaved'' together on the BeatBuddy and Aeros as you change from one to another. On the 6x6 mode, they had to make it function differently, because you have 6 song parts on the Aeros, but not 6 different variations of the same groove on the Beat Buddy (usually 2 or 3 per groove). So in that situation, the parts are not slaved together. What's important is to arm the next part on the Aeros to signify that you are looking to change song part. If you do not hover over a next song part on the Aeros while pressing and holding the BeatBuddy switch to get the transition fill, the drum beat is going to change, but the song part will not change on the Aeros. I hope I described it clearly enough!

@@AntoineMichaudGuitarLooping Wow, Antoine that is a crystal clear explanation. Thank you so very much. I must say, the last video's you have published have revitalized my enthousiasme to make music with the AEROS and BB. Thank you once more !

@AntoineMichaudGuitarLooping I know you’re trying to build this channel up, so let me give you a tip: most creators and organizations who prioritize inclusivity and inclusive language, avoid the term “master / slave”.
Even if the original products use those terms, I recommend using different language, such as “primary / secondary”

@@q4sbgf9kfgrd6 I respect the thought from which you wrote your remark and support that; it is something we should consider in our time. But "primary/secondary" doesn't quite mean the same to me. Mind you I'm not a native English speaker, so it can be me. I think we should get used to being mindful and use more words to describe what we mean to say and not shortcuts from the past. Thank you for being observative and mindful.

I feel like you should have had 'includes paid promotion' on this vid.

You might be right. Affiliate marketing is a big grey zone to me and should be clarified by RUclips. I was not paid to make this video directly, nor was I commissioned to make this video, or even were in contact with Singular Sound about making this video. I decided to make it totally on my own to showcase how I MIDI sync my pedals. They happen to be Singular Sound products, and I am an affiliate for them which I might or might not get commissions from depending on who clicks and purchases or not. I do that with tons of other pedals as an affiliate for Sweetwater, but were never commissioned to make demos of any of them.
RUclips says ''Paid Promotion' means content created FOR a third party in exchange for compensation''. In this case, I did not make it ''for'' them, they never asked me anything. Here's how Google's AI is answering this question: ''Affiliate marketing is generally not considered "paid product placement" on RUclips, as long as you are promoting products independently without direct collaboration or payment from the company''.
Again, I might be wrong. If anyone has more experience with this, feel free to join the conversation and reply!

@AntoineMichaudGuitarLooping that's fair. I feel like if you're promoting a product and then giving a link to that product to presumably get some revenue. Then that's paid. But I'm not a expert or anything. Just my opinion as a watcher/consumer.
Best wishes and thanks for answering 😊

What’s the big deal? Watchers learn something and IF u buy Singular Sound gear (with the links he graciously provides), everybody wins!
He’s been using this gear forever; just look through his past videos. He wasn’t paid by SS to demo this gear; he literally said at the start, that he created this video to answer questions people asked after the Beat It video.
He even mentioned the affiliate link at the end of the video!
      There’s no issue here IMO

Great video. One tip, because I know you're trying to grow this channel. Most organizations & creators that prioritize exclusivity avoid the terms "master \ slave". Even if the gear uses those labels, they're not inclusive terms at all. And if the gear is even a few years old, I'm sure the vendor wouldn't use those terms if they produced the gear _today_. A suitable replacement is "primary \ secondary".
