@@queenofstamford3141 the main problem we've had is that we can't kill games off. personally I was hoping for an experienced striker to come in and help the team as giroud and batshuayi have proved all season long they're not up to it. would've been far less of a gamble to bring someone like mertens or cavani in and have them not do well at this stage of their career than have the potential scenario of frank facing the media if we can't sort out our form without having signed anyone.

He is obviously not satisfied with the playing time allotted him, he is one of the most experienced and successful players in the team with laurels and individual honours, yet he never complained. His concern was the success of a young team under a young coach. Giroud is simply an asset like Peter Cech, like Michael Ballack.
What's most embarrassing about this situation is not just that we got the ban overturned, implying we wanted to do business, but the reality that we couldn't get a transfer done regardless. You would have thought that Chelsea would have had targets identified and availability known by agents well before January. It's not like January opens and you start looking. We've had a whole year to prepare for this. That said, Dortmund and RB Leipzig qualifying to the knockout rounds and being involved in a title race made them unrealistic, as was Chilwell with Leicester doing better than us. On the plus side, at least we haven't panicked and spent for the sake of it!
