You, my friend, are a hero! Simple, clear, concise and well-paced explanation. I live in China where the internet is censored. Doing this manually instead of paying for a VPN subscription saved me a lot of money. Thank you so much!
@@ashishsharma9371 I've been asked a couple of times about this. I may in the near future produce one, it is pretty easy to update your ssh keys(easy today, hard yesterday) am I right or what
Awesome I'm so glad you found it informative. I do plan to do a followup with setup and such in a generic way so it should be able to be used across many chains
Since you initially set it up with a password, you will need to ensure that SSH is enabled and then add your keys to the server. It's a bit of a backward approach, but it should remedy your situation. docs.digitalocean.com/products/droplets/how-to/add-ssh-keys/to-existing-droplet/
im getting some issues in logging in, everything i do i cant login to putty, i use my password says access denied, i add ssh keys then try to connect says refused...
@@niyamathullaa2949 I think that means your SSH key from putty is incorrect. Just copy from the puttygen window and paste. However you may need to reset with DO now. Also found this askubuntu.com/questions/204400/ssh-public-key-no-supported-authentication-methods-available-server-sent-publ But if you cant access it just dismantle that droplett and redeploy reviewing and copying your address.
I get stuck after installing all updates and installing GUI on ubuntu. BEcause then when i open the command prompt through digitalocean ( not ssh'ing in yet ) it shows a GUI now ( as I wanted ) but I automatically am assigned "guest" status and therefore can do nothing. I got no privileges. Can't change anything. Reinstall did not change that. Google was no help. Stuck at that point lol. O_o - Yes, I did it without this guide because I want a GUI. Just telling for inspiration for future videos maybe.
Check the manual of DigitalOcean here: www.digitalocean.com/docs/droplets/how-to/add-ssh-keys/to-existing-droplet/ Just do the steps from the last chapter "Manually from the Droplet without Password-Based Access".
