I don’t know if it was the music choice or if she just ROCKED HER SKILLS but this is one of the few times I’ve watched a skating performance and not had my heart in my mouth incase she fell... I KNEW she was going to nail it because SHE KNEW she was going to too! It was BEAUTIFUL TO WATCH
You’re also deducted points if your outfit touches the ice and her outfit did somewhere in the beginning but I believe this is just entertainment skating
I was told that the skaters would concentrate on getting the jump on the drop and they wouldn’t really be able to focus on the rest of the routine (I’m a skater and this is what I have been told so no one come at me please)
Sadie P in some competitive programs their performances are choreographed that way but it is more an exception than a rule since it is not the easiest thing to do catching the timing of the music along with focusing perfectly for the takeoff and landing the jump etc....
my favourite thing recently has been watching smaller contemporary ice skating performances because the passion they give is unreal, and you can tell they actually love the song they're doing it to as well and it just makes me so happy
Because it wasn't perfect. A lot of us in the comments are competitive/professional figure skater like myself and we like to discuss the flaws and of course the good parts too.
The costume she is wearing is amazing of how it shines in the light and imagine how you would feel with the wind in your face I would feel powerful and-free!
I watched a video from you thats about 8 years old and this is 4 years old and your evolution of skill, dress performance, professionally is soo impressing
She is literally gliding, doing jumps, and numerous spins while on ice with knifes attached to shoes (Professional skates are so sharp it can cut you badly just like a knife)
Raissa Custodio noup, but as a skater myself it sometimes happens. When your jump was over rotated or you didn’t land correctly (could be a lot of reasons) that happens, sometimes you even fall. So don’t worry while nothing more serious happens it okey. :) hope this helped
anotherblonde I’m not sure cause her jump before was an axel and that is when most skaters do tho kind of like thing you know? Like that little jump 🤨 but you may be right heheheh I’m not sure or maybe she didn’t land and did an Euler I’m not sure
Nicole Salher yeah, I’ve rewatched that part a lot and I still can’t figure out whether it was intentional or not. Cause I do think the Euler always looks a bit awkward but she looks particularly unstable and it is after an Axel as you pointed out. Then again, it’s the right movement. Idk maybe she lost balance and sort of spontaneously did an Euler to cover it up?
For anybody who doesn’t know this isn’t a real completion it’s for entertainment it’s not judged I’m a figure skater and if anybody ever turned off the light and turned on any music like that they would be out this isn’t real figure skating it’s just for the public’s entertainment
