Whoa! Thats like almost $33,000 a year just on accomodation! Plus add in travel and food...they have a really nice "fund". What is so extreme about that? I mean good for them to do it but they have a pretty big budget...
I live the same way. Started using Airbnb in 2013, along with with hotels too and have traveled to lots of cities around the world staying on a monthly basis (which is a more economical way). All my stuff (minimal stuff) stays in storage. Wouldn't have it any other way.
I’m glad to hear someone mention how long they are staying in Airbnbs because hopping for 10 days all the time can get pricey. Some Airbnb monthly prices are half of what you spend at 2 places within 20 days. Just have to really research your place and area if you’re going to stay there a month. Been planning my retirement plan also and this one works better.
Awesome. I'm 66 years old, travel mostly in the United States and Canada and I stay in mostly hostels, which I love. I have never stayed at an AirBnb because of of some of the negativity surrounding people of color in some of these places.
..Maybe hostels are better in certain countries but that is not the case everywhere. As an older traveler, I would say that hostels may not be suitable for older people. It is ok for younger people with different budget, lifestyle and priorities. Also, you may be surprised to know that in certain places renting Airbnb for longer (ie. one or two month) may be more economical.
I love that someone who is 62 starts a sentence with: "When we settle down..."

Gosh that last bit hurt. Astounding that some people still feel that way. I am glad you are overcoming it.
Great travel experience Thanks Carol
Thanks for the tips. I hope to do the same thing in a fees years time.
How do you manage the Schengen visas. Or get around it?
Inspiring...
Isn't staying in B&B is more expensive than staying in a hostel?
