Full respect for a wonderful athlete. Chabal is one of the finest rugby players of all time.....100% passion, commitment and all courage. He is one of the players who keeps me interested in the game of rugby. A warrior and a great athlete, avec le Coeur de lion. Sebastien will always be a hero to so many rugby fans. Kia Kaha, monsieur Chabal. You made a huge difference to your chosen sport. One day I would love to shake your hand and to say "Merci bien."
This physique is literally why in the 700's, the Gaul's halted the northward progress of the Moors, who had made it all the way through Spain (al Andalus = Andalucia now) and into southern France. The fierce Gaul's repelled them. Now they make amazing rugby players.
Chabal has to be one of the strongest, most ferocious and aggressive No.8's ever. The hit on Ali Williams (who is a monster himself and didn't go in soft) was monstrous.
great video man :) 1:54 the way Chabal stops like a north-of-220 lbs-guy dead in his tracks, lifts him up in the air and throw him down like a rag doll, this is some serious power... scary dude to face off in his prime for sure... I wonder how a big rugby guy would fare in the NFL in terms of speed / power / explosiveness ?
Bioplastia Sao Luis ; same wonder here..NFL is said to be more explosive short outbursts of power and speed... And then all the breaks and tactics...All Rugby player have strong stamina...no NFL athlete could hold up 5 minutes in Rugby..and I know this as a fact...even the big props in rugby need to be moving constantly keeping up with the game and line of defense..whereas NFL is stop and go ..they only train strength and speed...and shoot roids like crazy...because no young athletes look like they are...weighing in heavier than heavyweight boxers and bigger than strongmen...realy... I did play both sports and Football was fun, cool but dead easy as a sportsman...Rugby however was tough as you are constantly giving 100% and trying to get back to normal...but then the situation does not let you...and you cannot let your mates down..and you see the fatter guys keep going on and think...what's wrong with me...I should be happy to do the extra work...btw in rugby I was 6'2" and 195pounds and in football later 6'2"and 265 pounds.
***** Actually, the Scots descended from the Gaels, i.e the Irish that migrated from Ireland and colonized parts of western Scotland and eventually eliminated the Pictish culture. The kingdom of Dál Riata is a good example of this. Couple this with the fact that the Romans in Britain at the time of relentless Irish invasions on Britain's west coast titled these invaders "Scoti", the term "Scot" evolved from this Gaelic link. The Scots are far -far- more Celtic than Viking, as much or nearly as much as the Irish themselves. England also has its own Celtic heritage, though it is often shunned in favour of this whole Anglo-Saxon and Viking heritage (The Vikings being a romanticized race of "warriors" who's battles I'd wager ebbed more towards loss than victory). So no, rugby is far more Celtic than Viking, considering the fact that three Celtic nations are actually any good at the sport (Ireland, Scotland, Wales), whereas there are no Nordic nations that play it. As well, the oldest successively documented rugby club in the world was formed in Dublin, Ireland. A Celtic nation.
Alan Kennedy Actually, No. Dál Riata is the only notable example of the Scots. The entirety of "pictish culture" was not eliminated by the Scots either, this can only be said to be on the frontier of the western Highlands. The areas around Caithness were still populated by the Pictish people up to the 7th century, when the Norse "invaded" - or more accurately, settled. The Scots had far less landholdings, designated mainly to the west coast. Even still, you haven't even discussed the Celts, Britons or Anglo-saxons.
Charlotte McCann It wasn't eliminated immediately with the creation of that kingdom, but it was eventually surpassed and forgotten. There were various factors to consider then, the Northumberlandish to the south and the Viking invaders later, but in the end most within the Kingdom of Alba (that which was formed from a merger of Dál Riata and the Picts) underwent a shift towards Gaelic custom. That's pretty much undeniable. The "Scots" as the Romans knew them expanded through a merge of cultures and custom via Gaelicization.
I was at the game at 3:20 and was literally 20 feet from Chabal when he made that try. It went down as one of the most utterly incredible things I've seen.
Chopping down Vickery like that takes some power, Regardless to who it is! Even if it's not Chabal, it's a freaking awesome hit!!! The sort i only get once a season, but they're always my highlights. xD
as an irish man sebastien must be one of the best ever back {4,5,6,7,8,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,9,10,11,12and even 14... and welcome to ireland anytime
Salut TheGreatRugbyworld!! Génial tes vidéos!!! Juste une petite erreur il me semble à 1:18 c'est dimitri dimitri szarzewski je crois. Avec le n°16 c'est le talonneur remplacant non? Enfin je crois

Yeah,right tucked in behind him.

+warriormonx So monstrous that Ali Williams suffered of a broken jaw after this charge from Chabal. And had to eat liquid for a while...
50 % human 50 % beast
+Inishizbablut 100% roids
100%best
I'm from Sweden and I'm proud to be a part of this sport. I hope to become as good as Chabal.

1:17 against a fat ass prop. That's insane strength.
Anyone else have "THIS IS SPARTA" going through their head before every tackle?
I do, and also at every ruck, maul and scrum there is
I'm gonna watch it again and try it hahaha.
the last viking sport
ross
Ancester of football and Rugby was the 'Soule'
ross I don't know about 'most likely'. There's plenty of Norse in our genepool, they did settle most the country for about a century.

this man is a machine. is the first time I see him, but it has become my idol.
Great Compilation
Probably not the greatest of all time. But possibly the most prolific/charismatic. Great video.
Chopping down Vickery like that takes some power, Regardless to who it is!

Someone who couldn't tame the beast bro ;)
What is the song called please its awesome!!! And so is Chabal of course!
PURE POWER!
Remarkably similar to Lomu. Same generation, same dedication. Marvellous rugby.
Always tackled fair and low or wrapped his arms. No cheap shots. Proper rugby man.
And had proper wheels too !
THE BEST ALL TIME!
perfectly understandable
Of course !
LEGENDE!!
Those tackles at the beginning, can only imagine the pain...
Entering the 2012 season there was about 200 players of 30 or older in the NFL
The best ball carrier in history.
Rugby or swinging a battleaxe, pretty much the two jobs he s most suited for :P
got a vid of tackle on the touch judge
@Apidium to show different views of each tackle, try etc
the best rugby players come from greece
Let the beast go! Fear the beard!
i`d rather get hit by a train, than by sebastien..
I have little to no interest in rugby, but still found this video pretty awesome.
Chabal literally inspired me to become a better 8man.
chabal vs martin johnson? would pay to see that fight
what a beast.
Tank
@1:20 c'est Szarzewski pas chabal !
ça c'est sur Chabal n'a jamais joué talonneur ;)
