One of the problems with the Strip buses is crowding. Sometimes standing room only. Plus the buses stop at every casino for people to get on and off. This makes for very slow travel at times. It can take an hour to travel the 5 miles to Downtown if crowded and with traffic jams on the Strip. Walgreens and CVS also have ready made cold sandwiches for a quick snack.
Everytime I ride the Deuce it seems like there is a fight. A lot of lowlife degenerates ride the bus. I know it is more expensive but I would rather do the monorail or just take an Uber.
Since you touched upon the airport you should have mentioned the shuttle services that offer round trip rides to hotels for really low prices, way cheaper than cabs. Plus shuttle service certain properties offer for getting around the strip.
About the CATS buses…I consider myself a seasoned travel, very accustomed to using public transportation. But I gotta tell ya…I have landed up in some interesting neighborhoods (NOTE: not bad or dangerous!) when using CATS, simply because the routes can be confusing - especially if transferring is part of the ride. And sometimes - particularly on the weekends - buses simply never show up. I waited 2 hours for a bus one Sunday morning about 10 am…I think going south on Maryland..and no bus ever appeared. Finally walked to my destination….Not happy that day…wasted a lot of precious gambling time! So, just sayin’……
Also can grab some reasonable snacks at the ABC downtown. Man, I remember when there wasn’t a drugstore to be seen ANYWHERE convenient in Vegas….that has certainly changed!!.
Love this! Hard to do depending on what type of room or airbnb one stays at, but a huge savings on food is groceries instead of restaurants. Cardenas is an amazing Mexican grocery that has the best snacks, pre-seasoned meats to cook, and they even cook amazing food right there in store!!

If you want to save another $3 on The Deuce bus board on any street except Las Vegas Blvd. The bus stops are just off the Strip on any cross street (Flamingo, Tropicana, Sahara, Charleston). A 24 hour pass is $5 instead of $8.
Thanks for the tips as always.. always surprises me when vloggers talk about cheap drinks that no one seems to mention blondies bar at PH. We stayed there and it was great, I think it was $3 a pint or pay $10 upfront and it’s $1 per drink or pay $20 upfront and drink for free :-))))
I have always stayed at Harrahs,as it is centrally located on the Strip. But I also suggest to spend time in some of the off-Strip properties like Red Rock Casino. But the biggest bugbear is,of course, resort fees.
We'd stay in Henderson @ Sunset Station using our comp room offers & take rental car & park free @ Tropicana & walk or park free on other side of strip & walk. Also we'd stay in Laughlin at Aquarius comped rooms and drive to Vegas so never paid for rooms which saved $$$ and be extra funds to gamble with. Nice tips...thanks for sharing. 😃
A big one also to save some money is bringing food and drink with you. The TSA has a list of items you can and can not bring on a flight and a good amount of food and drinks are acceptable. 9/10 times the food at your local grocery store is cheaper than Vegas.

Solid tips. My biggest ones are to always get your water and snacks at target, CVS, ABC stores. And to take an hour to research happy hour specials
Given that Target and ABC are on the Strip, there’s no excuse not to go to either location.
ABC also has excellent Vegas shirts and hoodies.
