Brother your car is incredible. I'm getting ready to go to the dealership to buy the new '24 Crosstrek in white and was watching videos to hype myself up. cheers
Loving the setup and how it all came together. Money comes and goes. Being passionate and enthusiastic about something is good for the soul. Love your energy. Just subscribed. All I can think of that's missing from the build are a set of fuzzy dice hanging from your rear view mirror and a bowler bowling (trophy) as a hood ornament. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Nice. I have an 2021 Impreza sport hatchback in manual. Most of what I've done has been accessorising. Something you might consider that i did was getting an low 5 watt solar powered trickle charger and wire it directly to your battery. I also added an solar powered vent fan to suck hot air out of the car pushing it outside through one of my window louvers. I have done interior lighting and pinstriped the subie and replaced the halogen headlights with LEDs. Love your light bar. You truly are an Subaru owner who loves his Subie...Oh i also have an illuminated ball shifter that i made. 🏹🤠 👍
Man, like I told u before, on other video comments, your Crosstrek looks really nice. If I can get mine to look at least 1/2 as nice as yours I'll be happy. Awesome work brother. I'm from S.A. too by the way, maybe we'll see around sometime, lol.
I buy a lot of used parts and factory 2nds for my rides. I don't buy much for appearance stuff. For my 2016, I got a hitch, 1" taller Falkens, DNA dry-cotton airfilter, Fumoto oil-drain valve, amber fog LEDs, Primitive skids, and a multi-mount winch. A rear diff-locker is coming in the future. The handling and MPG is still pretty good. Commuting in blizzards is a non-issue. I often avg mid 30s on a tank, setting the cruise around the speed limit. This car actually averaged 46.2MPG on a tank while the lighter stock tires were on it. I already had Yakima crossbars and a big roofbox for roadtrips in the shed. I have a roll-up roofbag too. This little car pulls my 4x8 trailer fine, loaded with home-project supplies, motos, sailing dinghy, etc. Bicycles, surfboards, canoe/kayaks, and snowboards haul easily.
Well, RUclips algorithm has me sideways now. Thanks to the creativity to create this bad ass crossover I need to tell my wife plans have changed. I was looking at 2018-2021 Subaru wrx but this is clean.
Just came across your content. I've been considering ditching my GTI for a Crosstrek (different stage in life at this point haha) after 5 years. Also in Texas! I like your stuff man, just subbed!
In 2019 i bought a Crosstrek instead of a GTI. I love the crosstrek, but it just doesn't have the Pep in it's step if you know what i mean. There are things you can do to make it feel like it's faster, like the Pedal Commander, but you sacrifice fuel for it. Eventually i'm gonna build it, but for a 5 seater(comfortably) it's great. It's lighter than some sporty cars. It has some aftermarket utility. I mean there's a turbo kit for it. And it's decent for offroading. It's not a rock crawler, but it'll get through alot. The head unit is okay. It's not great and very finnicky with android auto and apple car play. But considering Suburu put effort into it and didn't just stick a tablet on top of the dash is refreshing to see. It's just an unassuming economy car that isn't the most boring thing to drive. Although, the manual is highly recommended. Although with the manual you don't get the option of the better engine. The manual is better for what this car was intended to do, the CVT is for the people who bought it cause they thought it looked cool. The manaul is much more responsive to driver input, being that it has a conventional transmission, as opposed to a CVT, which is not the same as an automatic. I love the car don't get me wrong, but sometimes i wish i got the GTI. But with the crosstrek, you won't get torque steer, when you put more power into it.
@@mattevans1643 I ended up deciding to keep my GTI. I'm the only owner, I've had it since 2016 and it's only got 33K miles on it. Plus I've sunk an extra ~$10K on it getting it the way I want with mods and all. We may end up needing to get my wife a new vehicle within the next month depending on a recall situation with FIAT and the Crosstrek is very high on the list.
@@mattevans1643 I've been on the fence on whether to buy a GTI or a Crosstrek. Each have their merits that I enjoy. So far I've settled for a 2016 CX-5 I've had for 3 years, but I'm dying to trade it in. I'd really rather have both.
Looks awesome. Rewatching this from long ago. But for that price, the spoiler looks like crap, this is why it was deep inside eBay, definitely not a treasure. Wouldn’t even know there was one without telling us. 1:29
Hey Strady super stoked on your new build Mazda is sick. Was wondering if I can get you to email me the full list for this cross trek.. love your channel great. Thanks
Love the build, I have a similar build, but wondering if I have purchased a AFE catback exhaust system, would I need FB20D Catpipe even if the afe comes with a catback already? I am new to adding headers and any exhaust systems. Any helpful answers would be greatly appreciated.
Yowza, I was just thinking about doing some mod work on the 2015. Well after I finish my 2002 bug-eye. Just got completed an engine rebuild, brakes exhaust and Weds wheels and extra orange sparco's and winter tires. I just don't know how much horsepower I can get on the Crosstrek it's at 182 right now without a Cobb tuner or anything.
Can you do a short video on the sound system and subwoofer? I'm looking to put one in mine (21 LTD), but I haven't really seen anyone do quite what I'm hoping for. Right now I've got a 12" JBL BassPro that I had in my old Civic, but if I put it in the rear of the Crosstrek I lose like half the available space. Getting a box that I can still stack on top of would be great, but I also don't know too much about sound systems and what is OK and what's not.
Did you have to drill holes to install the roof rails as base mode doesn't have them? Would share your installation experience as 2024 base doesn't have roof rails.
Nice build man. Just a question. Does the added control arms, sway bar and lift kits reduce the suspension travel? Like how does they perform when you want to go some offroads?
The first step to any serious off road adventure is disconnecting your sway bars, a lift kit increases suspension travel, and i would imagine off road control arms would only help
the performance mods really make a diff? i know you lose a lil pep with the lift and tire combo... which im about to do to my 2015... but i dunno if the intake exhaust and other small lil bolt ons are worth it or if its just gonna be noise..
It's a Suburu they hold their value. I have a 2018 with a cracked windshield(unrepairable) and got offered $22k. I bought it for $23k. Considering i've owned it for 3 years that's a pretty good offer that i should accept. Especially since i would make $10k out of it. You won't ever recoup money from mods. Mods do not add value. Now if it's something crazy like you stuck a hellcat in it, then it's worth instantly more, just for the engine. But you will never get back the money you spent. Putting $10k worth of mods into a car does not add value. But it does help sustain value, if you are selling to the right person. If it was totaled in a crash, you're shit out of luck. SALVAGE WHAT YOU CAN AND SELL IT OFF for a loss. Cars are always a loss, until 30 years from now when they are super rare, but good luck holding onto it for that long, especially with the laws being made about all cars being sold being required to be electrical taking over the western US, and some of the rest of the world being put into effect.

Did it feel underpowered without any performance mods? How does the performance feel now? I'm looking at a 2013 crosstek, it has a decent amount of mods already, just concerned about the 150hp. What would you suggest to bump it up to 200hp? Thanks!
If you want to bump it up to 200hp, buy a different car lol there’s not much you can do with these engines to make 200hp unless you want to dump major cash into it
The Crosstrek bolt pattern is 5x100. If you find a wheel you really like but isn't offered in that pattern, you can buy a hub adapter. I don't like that idea, but it is a choice.
Cool build, lots of unnecessary mods though. Alot of aesthetic mods are not needed. Its like making a pretty girl go through multiple plasyic surgeries to make her even prettier. You gotta be careful though cuz you risk making your car look like Mickie Rourke if you work on it too much.
