Sad times for all Croatians. My mother’s parents may have moved the family to the US in search or better life, but as kids we were constantly reminded where “home” was. They strove to reinforce our Croatian-ness in every conceivable way growing up.
During these days my grandparents were devastated by the scope of the violence but were thrilled about the prospect of an independent Croatian nation.

Thank you for this video.
My grandfather was injured during the siege of Dubrovnik. But Dubrovnik and Croatia prevailed a much bigger aggressor that wanted to destroy this jewel of the Adriatic Sea. Watching Ukraine today, the story of Dubrovnik and Croatia only shows that no one can conquer you if you are brave enough to fight for your home.
