Steve Morse type of song (reminds me Deep Purple's Sometimes I feel like screaming, with all the key changes), Portnoy odd time signatures and changes, Vocal Harmonies by Neal and Casey (pop oriented)... really one of their best songs. All the elements are there...
@@edw5761 Because it`s sooo boring? Don`t get me wrong, but this song is so lame (to me). THere is way more amazing stuff out there that delivers talent AND energy. This one is smth. that maybe`ll be played at a retirement home.
You people are idiots. This song is amazing, Steve Morse is incredible, the vocals are perfect, drumming and bass are rock solid, Neal's harmonies are beautiful
I love this song and I LOVE LOVE all the musicians in the band....so much talent. But idk about Flying Colors....just some kind of soul lacking...and the music is boring most times. This song is an exception. Just my opinion....
Man, this is the first time I think I've ever criticized Mike Portnoy online, but it has to be done. Someone in the comments below asked why this video only received so many views and I'll tell you why. it's because Portnoy just crapped all over the song with his playing. He took an amazing song with amazing vocals and great arrangement, and in true Portnoy fashion, made the song about himself. Standing up and telling the crowd literally when to 'feel' the song by making them clap when he thought they shoud instead of spontaneously. The overplaying was just song-crushing. I also blame Peter Collins for not putting his foot down in the recording session, and his bandmates for not speaking up to who many consider a demigod in the world of prog, including me. Mike, chill the f*ck out, the song is good. Let the true parts shine, namely the vocals and lovely guitar line. Forget the double guitar part. Try not to sound like any of the respective bands each of you hail. Damn, I wish I produced this song. (and many others)
Interesting critique but addressing your main point, it seems far more likely that Kayla doesn't have more views simply because the band isn't focused on marketing to mainstream listeners.
good Lord.....how can there exist that much beauty.....
dave la rue is the hero we all deserve
I met him twice. He is super cool too.
It's amazing to see "Master" Portnoy directing the audience applauding at the begining, but I couldn't expect less from him.

Geovanni Vezzaro Mattioli very well said m.
Well it's Steve Morse style there, you can always recognize it, no matter where he plays. 🥂
@@nikolamilenkovic8441 ohhh yes...And there is not that many to say that about...!!!!!
One of the best live performances and songs I've ever heard!
INCREDIBLE MIX OF PROG AND POP. It doesn't get any better than this (fan of hundreds of bands and tens of thousands of songs...)
I love this song!
I like the way they chose the intervals between the harmony and the vocal line!
+Diogo Aileoz YES! and I like the changing signatures, like 7/4 on verses vs. 6/4 on choruses. Very cool song!
I can't stop playing this album/DVD - I'm so glad I came across Flying Colors!!
Came across Flying Colors while listening to TransAtlantic - Great find, now one of my new favorite Super Group!
fantastic musicians, great song, emotions and power sound, go flying go
Absolutely one of the best songs ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!

its pretty boring... they picked a below par vocalist ...
You people are idiots. This song is amazing, Steve Morse is incredible, the vocals are perfect, drumming and bass are rock solid, Neal's harmonies are beautiful
Proving my theory once again that people are stupid
This band and song are so freaking amazing!
EPIC performance!
You want harmonies? There you got it!
The consistancy of the vocals are extremely dope
Is there a way Mike Portnoy doesn't get to be a fucking badass?!
I don't think so.
This band (if we can call them that way) is a gem.
Kinda freaked me out after realizing who was in this band. I happened on it by accident and knew the chorus for a year prior... Superband!
Nice song...👍👍👍👍
IMO, This is the greatest rock band ever.
Love it thanks
Steve in top form here. The band seems to inspire him. Much better solos than on the last Purple records.
oh man I love this song!!!
Awesome, fantastic song
Awesome band...
I thought Transatlantic was the ultimate Super Group...until now. Wow, the arrangements are incredible. The vocals superbly harmonized.
Neil More, Steve Morse, Mike Portnoy what a foundation on which to build.
Dave and Casey fit and blend in very well, too. All five are accomplished, capable and skillful musicians.
and Peter Trewawas bass player from Marillion!!
So beautiful......
ah!!! so much melody... these guys can turn the world :)
Awesome!
Rock On! hope to see you in NYC!
Great song! The odd time signatures give it a cool groove.
+Chris Cosentino I agree about the cool odd time signatures!
Isn't it just 3/4?
7/4 and 3/4, primarily.
@@RodolfoStanic I thought they were 7/8 and 6/8
Love it rest my case……..Goosebumps…..
Record label : how many legends do you have in the band ?

love the double guitars and you're way too harsh on Portnoy-he just seemed to really be enjoying what was going on.

Really? this is a Lip Sync....ffs~ Great song nonetheless !
