      Ketovore is basically animal sourced keto. As long as it meets the macro requirements of keto. Which is generally below 20 grams of carb per day. Ketovore is often mentioned as max 10 g.
      Most carnivores are not doing keto though, cause their fat to protein ratio are too close to 1:1.
      You need to add a lot of additional fat to cooked meat, to get a classic keto macro or even modified keto.

      Just curious... Have you ever fasted from jalapeños for an extended period of time (30, 60, 90) to see if there might be any benefit to eliminating them?

    I’m new to all of this. It is so confusing-people like Dr. Neal Barnard say that meat causes cancer, yet meat seems to cure cancer and other medical issues.

    • @alphacause
      @alphacause 2 часа назад

      I can sympathize, as when I was new to this low carb/carnivore space, I was bombarded by detractors who were peddling a vegan/vegetarian diet and deriding the low carb meat based approach as dangerous. There are many great resources in the low carb/meat based community that can debunk a lot of what Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. Joel Furhman, Dr. John McDougal, and other plant based luminaries like to peddle. I would recommend, on top of Dr. Anthony Chaffee's excellent work, the work of Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Georgia Ede and Dr. Paul Saladino. While Dr. Saladino has modified his position to include some plant foods, he has done a pretty detailed job in debunking many of the plant based claims against red meat.
      Regarding the studies that plant based doctors promote, nearly all of them are based on observational work, meaning they use population studies and draw spurious correlations from that work. The problem with those studies is that they don't take into account confounding factors in the population that actually may account for the healthy outcome. The studies that Dr. Chaffee cites here are clinical trials that show the remediation of illness. When categorizing the trustworthiness and accuracy of studies, the observational studies that plant based advocates use are far weaker than the interventional clinical trials that Dr. Chaffee references. I hope that helps.

      I did plant based for a while and the hunger was awful. I went carnivore and can go 23 hours or longer and not hungry at all. The anxiety is so much less. Knee pain from going up stairs is non-existent. So much healing on carnivore it's just amazing.
      I had a cancer diagnosis in June '23 and told if I didn't do chemo that I would be dead in a year. I didn't do chemo, I quit all sugars and starches and went carnivore. I'm still alive and feeling better than ever! Yay!
      It isn't the meat that gave me cancer. Read or listen to the book from Nina Teicholz - The Big Fat Surprise. She debunks all the lies we've been told and the doctors are taught in medical school. Very eye opening.

    "When you remove something and the effect goes away, that should make you think. When you bring that something back and the effect comes back, then you're really on to something."
    That is not controlled science, albeit reasonable logical practice. However, it is an incomplete picture and not proof that meat is the only diet made for mankind. For example, in the beginning of 2020, I switched from a whole food mixed diet of meat, vegetables, dairy, and fruit to an ORGANIC ONLY whole food mixed diet and practiced/studied this for four years. The effects of nasal congestion, phlegm, recurring respiratory "illnesses" (toxin elimination), skin issues (toxin elimination), and constipation (toxin retention) completely vanished. Does this mean that an organic whole food mixed diet is the only diet made for man kind? Of course not. Though I had eliminated those effects, the effect of high blood pressure remained. In 2024 I switched to a lion diet--beef, salt, and water, with occasional chicken and pork. No dairy, no sugars, no carbs, and nothing plant based. My blood pressure has since dropped from an average of 156/95 to 120/85 and as low as 116/78. Clearly, the effect of high blood pressure went away. Does THIS mean that lion diet is the only diet made for man kind. Of course not. Though my blood pressure returned to normal and has stabilized, I am once again experiencing congestion, phlegm, throat irritation, respiratory "illness" (toxin elimination), skin issues (toxin elimination), and constipation (toxin retention, and perhaps the reason for respiratory and skin erruptions) while enjoying the excellent blood pressure. To those who have advised that I increase my fat intake to address the constipation, I consume as much fat as I can stomach without nausea, including adding tallow to everything and literally warming and drinking it, and eating all the fat left on my family's dinner plates. It has not corrected constipation, and constipation can lead to other consequences. For now, I will remain on lion diet and give this study a fair assessment. After one full year if I cannot correct these issues--or sooner if the effects become serious--I will go back to an organic only whole food mixed diet, but this time without dairy and fruit (no sugars). It may be that I need to vary my diet from time to time. Time will tell.
    Edit: I forgot to mention, while on whole food mixed and on lion diet I ate wild caught cod and salmon.

    This was an engrossing presentation. Thank you, Dr. Chaffee, for summarizing the growing body of evidence showing the effectiveness of a predominately meat based diet in remediating multiple illnesses, while also giving a succinct explanation of why mainstream medicine is so reluctant to adopt a low carb meat based approach, despite its demonstrable efficacy.

    Sorry, too lazy to look it up and figure out for myself what a “lean mass hyper-responder” is. Would anyone be willing to explain to me concisely in layperson’s terms?

    • @vincalorenzen4542
      @vincalorenzen4542 19 минут назад

      Simply put, it's the idea that at least some people who are lean can have high LDL and it doesn't mean they will get heart disease.
      All the data shows LDL has a sweet spot, and it's higher than when most doctors start talking statins.
