Chocolate self-saucing pudding in the All-in-One Multicooker

- Elle Vernon cooks a chocolate self-saucing pudding in the Philips All-in-One Multicooker, using the pressure cook function. It's an incredibly fast and easy dessert that you'll be making all winter long.
SELF-SAUCING CHOCOLATE AND PEAR PUDDING
preparation time: 5 mins
cooking time: 7 mins (excluding pressure building and release)
Serves 8
100g unsalted butter, chopped
2/3 cup milk
1 free-range egg, lightly beaten
1 cup caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1½ cups self-raising flour
2 Tbsp Dutch cocoa, sifted
1 firm pear, unpeeled, thinly sliced
Ice-cream and double cream, to serve
CHOCOLATE SAUCE
1 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp Dutch cocoa powder
500ml (2 cups) boiling water
STEP 1 Insert non-stick inner pot into the Philips All-In-One multi cooker and turn on at the power point. Select Sauté/sear. Select Cooking time. Press the ‘-’ button to decrease time to 2 minutes. Select Start. Immediately add butter and stir until melted. Press cancel if butter has melted before the cooking time is completed.
STEP 2 Carefully pour butter into a large mixing bowl (note: the inner bowl will be hot, so please use oven mits) then clean the outside of the bowl edge and sides with paper towel. Insert the greased inner pot back into the multi cooker.
STEP 3 To make the batter, in a mixing bowl, add milk, egg, caster sugar and vanilla and beat with a whisk until combined. Sift in flour and cocoa and beat with whisk until a smooth batter forms. Scatter the pear in the base of the pot in an even layer, then spoon batter over the top, spreading out, to the edges of the pot.
STEP 4 To create the chocolate sauce, sprinkle brown sugar over the batter, sift in cocoa then pour boiling water over the back of a large spoon.
STEP 5 Place lid on the cooker and close, Set valve on the lid to seal.
STEP 6 Select Pressure Cook. Select Steam. Select Cooking Time. Press the ‘-’ button to increase time to 5 minutes. Select Start.
STEP 7 When cooking time is complete, allow to stand for 12 minutes with lid on. Turn valve on the lid to vent, to allow any pressure to release. (There should be very minimal steam)
STEP 8 Serve pudding with ice-cream and cream.
COOKS NOTE: When cooking using the sauté/sear function, ensure the lid is off.
