What cpu should I upgrade then? Mines a Ryzen 5 3600 and looking for something that’s better for fps but also cheap. My motherboard only supports AMD cpus
Just upgrade to the next gen's Ryzen 5 5600X. Or Ryzen 7 5700X if you have the money. Your motherboard should support them, but I'd recommend updtating it to the latest BIOS to be sure before you swap. But frankly the 3600 is still a very capable CPU. You probably don't need to upgrade if it's only for gaming. You'd get more value out of a GPU upgrade (if you don't have a very good one already)

@@joseolvera9287 Ryzen CPU's are AM4 up to the 5000 series :) 7000 series uses LGA1718 so you'd need a new motherboard, new DDR5 ram and maybe even a new cooler. That's why to me upgrading to a 5000 series chip is more sensible if you don't have much to spend. But yeah, with a 3090 you should at least have a Ryzen 7, it's getting bottlenecked for sure right now.

Update your bios.
Get 5600x or 5900x or even 5800x
If you play at 4k, 5600x is enough

I don't own 3770
