@@bobinster9464 No.. what I found out recently is that if the dry paint is just a day or 2 old, it peels easily like this... If it's been months, it doesn't
If your paint is not peeling of, then use something pointed like scissors...My paint didn't peel of so easily from the palette, so I used the pointed edge of a scissors and it worked!! (My palette was made of Plastic and the paint I used was Acrylic, I don't know if it works for other palettes and color mediums)
I've seen a few artists use "press and seal" plastic wrap that's just wrapped around a piece of cardboard for an easy throw away palette- I tend to use palette paper and save my nicer palettes for watercolor or designer gouache only.
I just tear out a page from a magazine and use that as palette paper. For acrylics, you can spritz it and it helps keep the paint moist. I use it for oil paints as well and then I never have to clean the palette beneath it. (Just dispose of it properly as it may have oils on it.) Thanks for your suggestions as well. I'll be soaking a plate this morning and see what it can do.
That’s a great Idea 🙌🏻 I’ll try it out. I usually use Baking paper or even any left out plastic. Not sure if that keeps colours moist for long but definitely helps to keep palettes clean 👍🏻
The best way to clean painting pallet..... Thanks for the video mam....... Make such types of video.... This is very helpful for us..... Thanks again🙌🙌😘😘
At local community center art classes, our instructor gave everyone paint on disposable styrofoam plates. If you have extra paint, simply put the plate in a well sealed gallon ziplock bag and you might be able to preserve it a little longer.
Thanks for the tip !! I’ll keep in mind. But that maybe because u took too much of it or applied directly. It worked for me without melting because I took little by little on cotton. In fact the colorbar acetone is itself packed in plastic bottle 😅
If using a butter or plastic paper, v don't even need a palette in the 1st place! 😅... I tried all 4 methods with 4 dirty plastic palettes... Vinegar worked best on 1 of them... Nail polish remover & dish soap didn't work well but I managed to scrub as much as possible & they turned out to be okay as well... Vinegar didn't work out for another plastic palette... Guess I'll only end up throwing it away
I respect your efforts for this video but i kindly suggest you to give credits like "inspired from" to the orginal creator i.e. Ivy Lily Creative..i just had watch her video before this and i found that content is similar and she had posted in 2017 so clearly you were inspired from her. :)
Hi Chhaya, I am using basic acrylics since 10+ years. And have made this video after trying myself....even after forming layers over each other they come out from a plastic palette or a glass palette. Infact if the layers are formed one over other, its more easy to peel.
Don't know how she's able to peel the dried out paint so easily.. mine's as hard as stone!
Yes
Her layer of dry paint was thin I think

Such a well presented video!!! I loved every bit of it!
Thank you 🤗❤️
I do it a different way so it take less time just soke your palette in hot water and wake until it starts to peel
If we use plastic palette then it will shrink.....!!!

How to clean Palette with oil colours
Is this a plastic pallet?
Instead of nail polish remover, use acetone from a hardware store. Much more economical
Even I do same from 2 to 3 years even I wash my paint bottles
I don't think she's using acrylic colours, because acrylic is gets super hard when it dries :(
Thank you Soo much!
