I expect more from motherships due to the price and previous artistry. For 6 pans, quads and holiday palettes I expect PML to go for mass market appeal and good quality - but I have come to expect baked shades for the price premium of the motherships. Your looks are pretty but this just wants me to continue to purchase the older motherships and value my existing collection. And I completely agree that the mattes should have been mauves and purples as we need more cool tones by PML and the red “special shade” should have been a purple to light teal duochrome.
This palette may be a little basic, but honestly I can’t stop wearing it since I got it. And it’s true, those mattes just give me too much pinky vibe. Using the subliminal taupe or statuesque in the crease, and a touch of the pink mattes with the beautiful metallics and special shades, I’m loving the looks. And I loved each and every look you did. GORGEOUS!!!!
I’m really glad you used a different matte for the last look. 99% of the time I start a look with Moonlit Seduction with that same Subliminal shade or Statuesque. I like my looks so much more that way. They’ve never put Statuesque in a palette that I know of, and I wish it had gone in either Moonlit or Sunlit Seduction. My favorite look was the last one-but I can make a similar look with other Pat shadows. Sunlit Seduction is a total pass for me even on discount. I really hope it’s an anomaly too!

I understand the perspective of the "only work with the colors in the palette!" crowd, but I actually find it quite helpful, as it 1 is more realistic and makes it easier for me to decide whether the palette would add value to my collection, and 2 tells us something about the shades that are missing.
I love the palette and he is definitely on my wishlist. I don’t understand the commotions I hear from many people about this palette. If you don’t like the colors, don’t buy it. Waite for the next one. You have enough in your stash as long as you live. Thank you for your demo’s

I loved all 3 looks. 1 and 2 were my favs. I have all 11. I’m gonna bring the all matte 6 pan from earlier this year to use with the sparkly shades. The first look appeared to be a mini sunset on your eyes. Good job.
Great video! I can tell you were trying to stretch what was possible with this palette to create different looks. The palette seems to offer less variety than previous motherships. I loved all of your looks, though! Especially the middle one.
I collect every PM pallet released because I absolutely adore her formulas. Unfortunately, Sunlit Seduction was underwhelming for me. The special shades aren't that special. The Crimson shade and Amethyst shade are just meh to me. Yes they are beautiful, but compared to her previous MS releases, they compare more with her metallic shades, not the special shades. I really miss her baked formula. I do love the pink transition shade in this palette because she doesn't really have a pink tone like that in her other motherships, but..... I prefer more colorful looks. I do think she should have included a lavendar matte or a deep purple matte and maybe even a special duo or multichrome that shifted purple and gold or purple blue gold. That would have really taken this up a notch. I loved all your looks and the last one is prob my favorite! I have done 6 looks and made then all pretty different even tho they are all leaning in the same bronzy rosy tones. I do like this palette alot but my preferred method is pairing it with other palettes.
That Subliminal transition shade is the perfect contour shade for fair skin. I wish Pat would make her bronzer formula in that shade so I could have it in a big pan, and in a more buildable version for my face.

The last look made your blue eyes pop so much I almost started looking up colored contacts 💙✨🩵 I feel the same way about ceasing to buy Pat‘s palettes if it continues pink. And this Mothership is pretty but I, too, will be using other mattes with it and am disappointed by the lack of actual specialness in the last four shades. They are pretty but that is not what you expect for that price from what used to be the Motherships. But yes, also still absolutely love the other Motherships and other products of hers 🩵
A lot of the brands are being conservative this year it seems. I saw sneak peeks from Natasha Denona and Makeup by Mario, and they are beautiful neutral color stories, as is this one (well this one is neutral leaning wearable pink imo). Most companies were likely using extant components and saving on increased production costs, as they renegotiate and/or transition their budget for inflation, and are mindful of consumers in this time. Makes sense to me.. Personally prefer quads/quints for neutral shadow formulas (except viseart neutral mattes, oh man what a gem) so will likely pass on most of this year's bigger pans. Also Martina, CPB shadows work so well as face palettes too (depending on color story and skin tone)! Man, what a cool formula.

I think this would not be an issue if she released more than one mothership per year or if she did more neutral/cool undertoned or colorful mini palettes or quads throughout the year. She might get more business by catering to a variety of tastes that way...
my super oily and hooded lids are very tough! i use the UD primer potion and nyx glitter glue, but pat metallics always end up creasing on me!! in your experience, does it compare to the UD primer in staying power? thank youuuuu

I'm not buying it, even on sale. Its the first time I have ever looked at a Mothership and thought "meh, this is boring". The one shade I did like the look of was Blitz Crimson but then I saw how finnicky it is to work with and I'm like... well, that's a bummer. The astral shades are pretty but I feel the purpley one is somewhat out of place, to me the tone of it isn't conducive to a nice look when combined with the other colours. They are less toppery and more just super shiny metallic looking. They have more base pigment to them. The mattes and standard metallics are similar shades that we have all seen 1000 times over, within her collection and externally. Hugely disappointing. Sunlit seduction... just think of what we COULD have had. I would have loved an orangey, yellow, purple type of situation, could have still thrown a pink in there. THE SUN ISN'T FREAKIN' PINK PAT!!!! 🤣
Also, remember, I said hell I didn’t like that formula because it did like nothing when I used it with my sponge I actually got it to show up quite nicely when I used it with a brush I used number 17 from rephr
I find this palette very disappointing. The previous 2 were disappointing at first look but then had the feeling of “oh ok, I see what you are doing there”. This one is more “I just don’t want a Fluro transition shade. Wtf” Pink ran out on itself.
I watch and learn so much from you about pat mcgrath motherships. In fact, your videos are my go to when I want to use a pat mcgrath palette. I get melasma (spelling?) from the Sun too 🫤 I’m getting a treatment at the end of the summer at a skin spa so it’ll help reduce/remove it all….. I can’t wait lol. Gosh idk why you would need to apologize for using a matte from a different palette. People can be so uptight. I mix palettes a lot bc sometimes you just want something different! Plus is allows you to create even more looks! I’m really curious to see where PML goes in the future, something def seems off and she’s losing fans and her customer base. I truly wonder how much power she has or if investors are calling the shots especially since some pulled out and sold their shares…. Which generally means the company is not doing so well 😬

Just what I would do if I had the palette. Just get a neutral color and you have much more choice to make what you want. Perfect!😊
