At 13 years old, she debuted and was so successful that SM gambled and took BoA to the Japan to just try if they can penetrate through the Japanese market. BoA gained massive success and her popularity translated back to the Korean market as well, establishing the then teenager as the sole breadwinner of SM, prior to TVXQ getting their big break. BoA's success lead to the debut of TVXQ and SJ. She saved SM and became the reason for the Kpop's entrance to the Japanese market.

Exo was sm biggest money from 2013 to 2018, 6 years In a row, not only physical sales digital sales/stream/merch sales,etc exo contributed huge amount of money, growl was national smash hit song when they were still rookie. Sm started to invest in NcT for five years until last year they started to have some recognitions, don’t forget how much money sm invested in them in their rookie time. They need more time for returns. They r still far from exo’s achievements when exo debut for five years.
