I really like this performance, it has a good mix of delicacy and expressiveness. I find many performances of this piece missing something, but this just hits the spot!
Curtis Institute, one of the finest ensembles...I love the use of the plucked notes in the 2nd movement. Great Romantic chamber music composition... it's amazing how the players switch so quickly between bowed and plucked notes ..all the players look young...which prbly accounts for such an energetic performance...
Maurice Ravel lovingly dedicated his exquisite String Quartet in F Major "To my dear master, Gabriel Fauré." After hearing the the piece premiered, Fauré kindly gave his assessment: “Stunted, badly balanced, and in a nutshell, a failure.”
Talk about doing this piece of music justice. Thank you all!
0:03 I. Allegro moderato. Très doux
8:45 II. Assez vif. Très rythmé
16:03 III. Très lent
25:26 IV. Vif et agité
It doesn't even sound like 4 instruments. It just sounds like 1 big string instrument. Bravo
Favorite recording of this piece 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 And I admire the cellist, she is clearly having so much fun playing!
Yep, cellist is such a badass xD She's killing it
Bravo! Great ensemble playing!
They're so comfortable playing together. I wanna be in a band that vibes like this
That ain’t a band
@@ChamMansourpeople like you are the reason classical music is dying
@@ItbeRey I mean.. it is. Band just means ‘put together’ which is basically the same thing as ensemble
It’s just ensemble is more fancy and classical
@@0_Ed that’s exactly what’s in this video..classical. it’s a string ensemble. But I see your point too. I still wouldn’t consider it a band tbh😅

As good as any recording out there. Fantastic.
Can you imagine! Faure,Debussy,Ravel all alive and working. No WW1 or 2,no Russian Revolution,no Holocaust. One could still believe in Beauty.
What a time that must have been, to be an Impressionist.
the russian revolution is the most beautiful thing to ever come out of russia
13:43 lmao the cellist

romantic ?
Definitely not romantic era - unless you mean to describe it as ‘romantic’, as in romance.
Superbly played and recorded
Beautifully played! And one of my favorites too!
It was electric an glorious! So much fire and passion!
Love the cellist’s attitude 🥹

They sound similar because they both were French impressionists
