It doesn't even sound like 4 instruments. It just sounds like 1 big string instrument. Bravo

      @@0_Ed that’s exactly what’s in this video..classical. it’s a string ensemble. But I see your point too. I still wouldn’t consider it a band tbh😅

I really like this performance, it has a good mix of delicacy and expressiveness. I find many performances of this piece missing something, but this just hits the spot!

Can you imagine! Faure,Debussy,Ravel all alive and working. No WW1 or 2,no Russian Revolution,no Holocaust. One could still believe in Beauty.

Curtis Institute, one of the finest ensembles...I love the use of the plucked notes in the 2nd movement. Great Romantic chamber music composition... it's amazing how the players switch so quickly between bowed and plucked notes ..all the players look young...which prbly accounts for such an energetic performance...

Maurice Ravel lovingly dedicated his exquisite String Quartet in F Major "To my dear master, Gabriel Fauré." After hearing the the piece premiered, Fauré kindly gave his assessment: “Stunted, badly balanced, and in a nutshell, a failure.”
