Breast cancer occurs in men as well. Dear friend in Lancaster, SC, just had surgery and awaiting Oncology results. He was embarrassed for people to know this. He’s the second male I’ve known with this. Unfortunately the first man died at an early age. All males that detect a tumor should seek treatment immediately.

I am a "D", high density, and had breast surgery to remove tumors years ago. The technicians always comes back to take additional screens during mammograms. I have an aunt that survived breast cancer. I was never told about additional tests! I am going to contact my doctor! Why haven't we been told about this? I get those letters and think nothing about it. Bless this woman for sharing her story, the information, and you two for telling us!

The message is so important. I'm a 5 year breast cancer survivor. The kind of cancer I had became treatable because of cancer research. My Dr. told myhusband and I, had I come in with this kind of cancer a year and a half before, they would have told me there was nothing they could do for me, go home and get your life in order. I'm so thankful for the new breakthroughs being made.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 Beast Cancer. I had radical surgery which includes lymph nodes. This is still information I haven’t known. Very great information which we should all know. I live in Utah, Greatfully my state has insurance that covers ultersound and biopsy. Which determined that I was stage 4, I went right into chemo and radiation. Finally I had an MRI which showed my body was producing tumors, other than the ones I was being treated for. Then the surgeries start. So much more information is needed.

Sweet Jenny, thank you so much for showing this video about Heidi and her journey with breast cancer. This is not just something a “woman” gets, men too, and it’s not something that only older women get, my dear sister in law was just 44, with 5 babies at home. The youngest was 5 when she lost her mom…and I have had my own journey with breast cancer. I wish that the media would quit saying things like “I got to go get my boobs squished..”et. It’s not that painful, for me, it’s not painful at all, awkward positions, yes, but that’s only for a few minutes if that.

This interview also confirms how terrible our medical system is in this country. Yes self awareness & self adequacy is sadly the new norm. It’s also important to know that breast density is also due to age. So it’s important as we women age the breast density increases. This is something they don’t explain. That’s why it’s harder to find cancer in women over 40. Happy to know Heidi is still here to share her story & help others. That’s the best legacy a person can leave. Thank you ❤🎉

Due to your efforts-ALL OF YOU-I immediately called the Breast Center here at Portsmouth New Hampshire Regional Hospital. I had JUST had a mammogram and ultimately received the reassuring letter saying I’m fine. The thing is, I don’t know if my breasts are dense but I have had cystic breasts all my life and I’m approaching 73. In New Hampshire the requirements for the density reporting legally go into effect in January 2025. When insurance allows only one mammogram per year, there is no recourse but to wait to double check for many months. There wasn’t a tech available when I called, only an office person but she did look at my information and could not see any indication of the degree of density in my report.
THANK YOU for this video. Thank you for your courage and example Heidi. I want to be around to see my little grandchildren grow a few more years. I will share with friends and family!

I wasn't interested in watching this video at first, but I kept watching. I immediately remember being told that I have high density breast tissue, so I emailed my doctor while watching the rest of the video to request further testing. Thank you so much for sharing this story - thank you, Heidi! I will tell all of the women I know.

I rarely post but just had to say Thank You for posting this. Had a family member pass away from stage 4 breast cancer about a year and a half ago. It was so hard seeing her go through everything. I wish I could have helped her more and spent more time with her while she was here. I miss her soo much. Praying for Heidi and her family and friends.

🩷Thank you for this. I have my yearly mammogram tomorrow and have been told in the past I have dense breast. I’ve never been told how dense, so tomorrow I’ll be finding out and getting further tests done. Praying for you Heidi.🌷

I too have dense breasts with a C density. I live in Michigan and have been paying out of pocket to get MRI’s because my insurance won’t cover it. They would cover an ultrasound but my deductible is so high I would pay out of pocket either way. Thank you for sharing this very important information with others. You are truly inspiring and a light. Keep fighting the fight! God bless 🩷🩷

Prayers for you Heidi and thank you for this video. I have been active in the breast cancer community for 7 years now. I lost my mom to metastatic breast cancer 37 years ago when i was 23, I’m aware i have dense breast tissue but I didn’t know anything about degrees of density. Regarding the organization that I am involved with, I don’t know what % goes towards MBC. You better believe I will be asking lots of questions of that organization and my doctor. On a side note, to all the men (and women who love men) men can get breast cancer too. Please don’t overlook that fact and be diligent. Prayers for all the warriors, survivors and angels and those that love them

Thank you for the information on breast density. I had no idea. After seeing this video, I pulled up my last mammogram results and saw that I have a density category of C. I will talk to my doctor about having a regular ultrasound/MRI with the mammogram. I 100% believe we need to be our own advocates in healthcare. Thank you again for this information. You will save lives by getting this out there.
