John Haigh, thank you for this incredible presentation. It's inspiring to see how Benedictine College is reviving classical architecture with such passion and vision. Your work resonates deeply with those of us who value timeless design principles and strive to incorporate them into our projects. You've beautifully articulated what many of us feel and pursue in our own work. Bravo to you and the team for preserving and celebrating the essence of classical beauty in modern times!
I am beyond blessed to have received my undergraduate education in architecture at Benedictine. I don't think I would change anything about it even if I could. Thank you to John and President Minnis for fighting the good fight and doing your part to restore a sense of beauty in culture! May God continue to bless BC's architecture program.
P.S. After learning how to hand draw at Benedictine, I learned AutoCAD in a week during my first internship (with no formal training) and am quite proficient with it, so the concern about students who learn to execute their designs by hand not being able to adjust to technology is certainly a valid and logical question, but thankfully has no basis in reality. Skill in hand-drawing and drafting translates directly and efficiently to skill in computer-aided drafting, but it is certainly not the same the other way around!
@@ShankhajitSinghaRoyI’m currently designing a Gothic Cathedral for my thesis project :) while it’s not a “real” project since it’s for school, hopefully it will prepare me for the future if I ever do get the chance to build one from scratch!
@@AestheticCityConversations haha I don't know. I do watch a lot of RUclips with educational content about city designs like "Not just bikes", "city beautiful" and "climate town". But they are much more narrative driven, and with a lot of B roll to drive home a specific point. That tends to be quite popular. But if the same recipe is valid for this channel I can't tell. But in general, splitting content into many parts and uploading on a consistent schedule seems to be key for the algorithm. Also maybe the "Nebula" platform could be of interest?
The best Professor I’ve ever had by a long shot!

I wish your video gets millions of views because you have great content. Try running ads for your channel using some kind of system.

This is wonderful. There is hope..
Fantastic developments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes! And this is only one of the multiple schools 😍
Hopefully our Catholic colleges and universities will begin to offer an equivalent and parallel courses in the fine arts.
This is fantastic info. Would be great if it could be cut down into a more digestible format.
Great idea - what are you thinking about, RUclips shorts? Or a shorter version of the interview?
