    A very enjoyable and sweet video. My favorite part was the beaver/muskrat who did his/her best telling your camera to get lost LOL. What a special place indeed! Thank you 😊

    Lovely vlog! I want to take the Skyline Road drive! My favorite part (besides the beautiful views) was when you explained about the Mammoth findings. You always explain things like a seasoned college professor and I enjoy that! 👍

    Amazing video! Loved all the wildlife. My fav part was that muskrat coming up to the camera and then rubbing rushing back to it’s safety spot. You are so lucky you live so close to such beautiful areas. I’m in miami, it takes like 5 hours to even start seeing some small hills here in Florida. I’m so looking forward to seeing all those areas on your videos some day.

    It would be really cool and helpful to us beginner suv rv'ers if you made a video about how to plan a trip starting from the idea when it's seeded in your mind. It would help us know how you find all these great hikes and points of interest in the middle of nowhere.

    You bring up a great point about selecting a destination but in reality is an excuse to journey there. I’ve spoken to many people that choose a location and that’s it. That’s where they are. I’m going to LA or I’m going to Miami. I feel this misses opportunities for greatness along the way. Not judging but I like doing it our way better. Favorite part? When you stop at the beginning of the skyline road. It just begs for possibility. Thx for sharing!

    Enjoyed your vlog! I've flyfished Huntington Creek below Electric Lake a few years ago before the forest fire inundated the creek with silt. I wish the water from Electric Lake cold be released in sufficient amounts to exposed the gravel in the creek to repopulate the creek with insects that trout required. The last time I was in the area I saw 3 forest fires presumably started by lightning strikes. It is a beautiful area!

  • @RicardoRoams

    Great video! I'm always amazed that you find such beautiful country that you seem to have mostly to yourself. I think the ghost town and its story was my favorite. You mentioned heavy snows in the winter of 1982-83. I found that interesting. Apparently heavy precipitation occurred throughout the west that season. Heavy snows also fell in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. The Glacier Point road in Yosemite was a month late opening up that year because of heavy snow. I was wondering if you came across any Geodetic survey markers in the ground on any of these peaks you hike?

    • @RicardoRoams

      Oops! I just found your answer to someone else asking about the survey markers.

    Great video! I'm surprised there are not USGS markers at the high points of each county. I just assumed if it were an official designation, there would be a marker. Love the scenery -- I look forward to exploring Utah in 2019.

    • @SUVRVing
      @SUVRVing  6 лет назад +2

      County highpointing is not a thing a ton of people do, and I don't think the USGS is interested in something so esoteric. It's not an official designation; people have just figured it out through their own research. There was a USGS benchmark on top, but nothing about it being a county high point. Thanks for watching!

    Hi. Beautiful Drive. I live in Luray, Virginia and my home is right next to Skyline Drive here. It is a 105 mile. It goes from Front Royal, Virginia to Waynesboro, Virginia. Very beautiful Drive and scenic place. Lots of hikes, waterfalls, trails, camping, lodging, Rangers are very helpful, great pull offs with different view. About 5 miles on 211 west is the famous Luray Cavern. Check it out online. Thanks Deb
