Even our experience, when enhanced with tools like microscope, shows us that without tools we perceive less than it really is, even other than it really is. Then we deduce that what we percieve with tools might also differ from smth that can be seen with better tools. Then we go crazy.
It's because the way we perceive the world is flawed. When you see the color red, that color doesn't actually exist in the universe beyond our perception. There are no red objects in the universe. In the same way, nothing in the universe has a smell, a feel, a taste, a sound, etc. So it seems we can't actually perceive the way the universe IS, only the way our brain makes it appear to us.
Throughout this episode I was thinking the whole time, why does there need to be a deeper reality than the one we already percieve.

It's human nature to explore our curiosity and push beyond the limits

Great episode, thanks for uploading!
I have a dog named Charlie too. I love him very much. His nose is indeed cold btw.
I have a classmate whose name is Berkeley and one time I called them Barkley
In this episode we don't see any new argument in addition to old Greek sceptics.
The Greeks figured it all out back in ancient times

i like the part when the guy gets stabbed
Clearly from someone who doesn't understand empiricism.
Empiricism does have its limits. Did our understanding of the world change with the invention of the telescope?
