Taurus was one of my first ships and my daily for a long while, until i swapped to the corsair. Now i fly the c1 as my daily and while the zeus is tempting, i love the c1 and dont plan to swap
Also a Taurus pilot and my thoughts are practically identical. The extra firepower and extra cargo space on the Taurus is amazing on paper. In practical terms, though, once the cargo update happens, loading it is going to be clunky at best and the firepower is a lot less appealing once you realize it turns like a pig.
@@Sentinels-Reprieve I'm really looking forward to the Zeus. Plan is to melt down my Taurus and Freelancer and replace them with a CL. I'll probably use what's left over to get an ES.
Pretty much my thoughts exactly, except I’m actually considering the MR. All the Zeus models are tempting, and I’d hate to miss out on a magical 32 SCU weevil egg box, but when I think about my typical evening adventures the small hold in the MR would be fine, and I often have 2 crew. I’d still have the Taurus available for dedicated combat salvage runs. Still, I keep eyeing that Clipper. I’ve got CCUs to all of them in the hangar, so we’ll see how they pan out!
Looking forward for that solo/with a friend space trucker life or really whatever i find out there in the verse. I hope the CL fills that empty spot for me the C1 doesn't, more 32 SCU spots.
@Vioblight it's not just about weapons. The Taurus is the big brother of the CL in literally every way. Protection, cargo, weapons, range, crew capacity, and components. It beats the CL in all of those categories. The only place the CL may top the Taurus is burst speed and smaller crew demand. That's it. I've been trying to get people to see that all of the Connies will get a monstrous buff that'll put them back on the map again... People are sleeping on Chris Roberts babies and it's a BIG mistake lol... These ships will undoubtedly get special treatment.
@@durtyred86 yah after some time I’d agree. Engineering testing has increased the base health of bigger ships by like 10x so they live longer and need components replaced. Btw now the constellation has 4 size 5 guns and no longer has size 4’s
@@Vioblight yea, I've gotta look into it. I'm still running the x2 s4 and x2 s5 lol. I could be wrong but I think the smaller weapon size has a better chance of hitting those smaller pain in the @$$ targets that like to zip around. I have run x4 s5's too and they wreck.
Love the concept of the Zeus. Bought the CL and ES. twin entry is almost a must have for me and it does not have a cargo elevator, it just gonna work i think. good size, looks good.
I got an eye on the Zeus ES cause I want a multi-role-capable exploration ship and the Aquila doesn't cut it for me, at least not compared to the other Connies. My favorite is the Phoenix, the passenger area is godlike and the PDS is probably even more enticing than the improved scanner of the Aquila. If they gave it a lot more speed to get around I might consider it, but for now I struggle to even justify the Zeus as a replacement. It's a bit of a Spirit situation for me.
I would really like some more info on how they are going to add more exploration and the need for improved scanners etc. Part of eve online I used to really enjoy.
Which is better is going to change massively based on armor class and engineering. The Taurus may be unmanageable without a proper crew in the future, but may also be quite a bit tankier than the Zeus.
I wish the Zeus CL had the freelancer max as a loaner instead of the C1, max is much closer in cargo, even if it doesn't look as nice. Very interested in the CL, although I like the solstice paint a lot more than the default paint.
Yeah I agree with you about the Connie being a bit aged. It's cumbersome and the layout is bad. I have the Zeus cl because it'll fit just the right niche I need. It'll be new and functional too
The Constellation Taurus is a real hidden gem. I don' t see the Zeus being better for general use but the MR version could be a great choice for bounty hunting when we get Bounty Hunting V2.
Prediction. You'll get the CL, fly it for a bit and then feel silly for giving up the extra cargo / smuggling area / combat ability etc. Don't fall for new and shiney when it does so many things worse.
If I only had a Cutlass Black, or Freelancer, the Zeus would really appeal me. but if I had a Cat or Hercules, the Zeus would be redundant. I think EVERYBODY should have a Connie in their hangar. So I would not trade a Taurus for a Zeus, unless I had a Phoenix or Andromeda, and ALSO had a larger cargo ship. That Taurus is gonna make a big difference in earning if you don't have bigger. I am expecting 1.0 earnings vs costs to be WAY different than what we have seen in Alpha.
Connies are so hard to beat in terms of multi-role performance. In particular the military platform they seem to be built on. What I mean by that, is that just like pure combat-focused ships, the Connies also pack a relatively high amount of shields, armor and weaponry into a relatively small frame. Take ship designs with other tasks in mind in comparison like the MSR or the Spirit, and while nimbler and faster, their much smaller armaments and defenses in relation to their overall size makes them a lot less suited for combat scenarios than the Connies.
If you're after a versatile daily driver ship with a touch of style, you can't go wrong with the Zues MK2. But if you need a tougher ship with outstanding firepower for those nail-biting moments, then the Connie is the way to go. The Connie ships variant boasts a whopping 96 SCU Cargo, while the Cargo variant of the Connie Taurus has 174 SCU. If you want to rake in more cash in the early game while still packing a punch, then the Constellation Ships are a must. But if ur in just a PIMP ride with easy access for loading and unloading cargo then Zues MK2 32 SCU is also a must because 1 its sexy and 2 its sleek.
connyt T is a really good ship BUT- struts blocking the sight is a huge drawback ... elevator acces is not for me, i prefer ramps and its just OLD. BUT its going to out damage the CL so much its not eeven funny :D so Conny is probably going to be a better ship
People are getting some of these ships and their size designation mixed up bad... The Taurus is an upgrade in every way to the CL. In fact, the CL is a little brother if you will. The C-1 is not comparable to the CL at all, it's more comparable to the Cutless-Black. The Freelancer MAX is comparable to the CL. So while we're all entitled to our preference for sure, It's a good idea that some of you realize that these ships aren't directly competing with each other. Please don't make the mistake of looking at the components of the CL and assuming it's the "better ship" because of it. All ships will get a change to their components eventually.
I upgraded C1 to a Zeus Mk2 CL. and then something else on the c1, because I just love the c1. But I certainly wouldn't swap my Taurus for the Zeus Mk2 as a dailey driver. That would be a step backwards in every respect, less cargo, only 2xs4 weapons instead of 4xs5 weapons, it also has significantly more missiles, both turret and tractor beam have the same. The Conni is also better in terms of overall HP. So swapping a Conni for a Zeus is a bad deal. But swapping a Cutlass Black, C1 or Freelancer Max for a Zeus Mk2 CL will definitely be worth it.
(new to SC) Bought the game 1 year ago and just casual enjoying so far, never got into more information about ships and gameplay besides playing and learning by myself. So i started with the Titan, then upgraded to the Cutty now to the c1 (bc of style points). But i can only upgrade to the Zeus mk2 MR. How did you buy to CL version ?
@@schmax3627 You have to wait until the ES and CL Variations are in the store. They are rotated throughout the year SOMETIMES. Normally all ships are on sale then as it is not Military focused. Just depends on what ship manufacturer is being shown off that day(s) just like how Invictus has different manufacturers on different days.
IMO for a $50 increase from the Zeus to Taurus, the Taurus wins hands down with better weapons, hull armor, cargo size, and ease of access to the cargo. And it is not like the increase is $100 plus. I just really hope they do a golden pass of the connie and give it the love it deserves. I remember when the table worked on the connie near the seat.
