Awesome video! One point; after Malak gains Crit Immunity, Zaalbar can only apply Armor Shred if he gets a crit on a droid. Power Blast only applies Armor Shred on a crit, so save it for when the droids are present.
great guide. Followed the fight tactics to a T for the Lightside and finished it first attempt. I Didn't have as strong characters as yours and didn't bother with the re-modding, but had all the same zetas. Finished it with 5 armor shred on malak and overall 2 star result. The same drain you got against mission killed mine. Thanks :D

If you don't finish off any of the Jedi captives I think the droids will keep spawning. So you want to just focus the droids for as long as you can to get as many stacks of armor shred as you can.

Hey man just wanted to say thank you, I've worked my butt off for months to make sure I was ready for Malak whenever he came back and was surprised last night, but ready. Had Zetas on nearly everyone, but watched your video and after a few tries I got it. I ended up AOE-ing the tenacity up and he absorbed whatever is immediately to his left, but I was able to just out attack him, only lost Zaalbar.
Ahnald thanks for the tips I think I was beating my head against a brick wall trying to get this today. Watched your video and went back in after 23 tries and got it on my 24th.
Thanks for the tips! This was even harder than Chewbacca to get and took a LOT of patience. My characters were slightly stronger than yours, so the timing took a lot of care, but this is the only method that worked. Scoring four armor shreds is a trickier thing than one might think.
After failing way too many times without applying zalbaar's basic omega, I found it was crucial for recharging his protection enough to survive the final push on Malak. Let Malak get the tenacity buff and he won't put fear on you either.
Ahnald you legend, got the 3 stars, unfortunately couldn't do the dark side version, was too lazy/couldn't be bothered xD but I'm proud I was able to get the light side, thanks!

Finally! I had Revan at relic 2. Bastilla at g12. Everyone else at g11. I had to just keep giving the assists to Revan instead of Zalbar. Him and Missions attack wasn’t killing the droids fast enough to keep dark rage down. I really didn’t wanna g12 everybody if I didn’t need to.
Thanks for the guide I've just unlock malak using your strategy but you dont want malak get the crit immunity stasis field because malak has a crit immunity in the start of the encounter (one of his ability gives him). I did it with g11 and g12 zalbaar and i had 3 zeta (general, hero on revan and of course misson )
I got him at 5 am local time, with 3 hours left for the event Took me 5 hours of constant trying G11 Revan leadership zeta, G11 badstila leadership zeta, G11 Jolee NO zeta G10 mission with zeta, G10 zalbaar with zeta It was almost impossible and I would have never been able to do it without your video For that sir, I am forever grateful Thank you

Now, of all the Malak Event vids on youtube this one is imo the most helpful, thanks! :-) I managed to get the buggger in the end but I still dislike this event - the mechanics are cool, the fact that the light path is more difficult is a nice touch, the 17500GP+ and short notice paywall is undestandable (someone has to pay for the game to run and develop) but even then the difficulty is set too high and people like me who dont have the gear maxed out and their best mods are not really "best" have to repeat the attempts too many times fighting not Malak and his mechanics but RNG - which is boring.
I’m actually excited to see more mythic enents. As long as their releases are farther in advance, it can bring a nice amount of challenge to the game. Let’s just hope Jedi Luke won’t be this ridiculous. The game changers need to retain some sanity after all
Ok so update - Shreds still apply even after DM consumes the Crit immunity buff. Idk if it’s a bug, but I’ll take it! Beat it with g10 mission and Z, so pretty happy about that
Malak wasn't getting Armor Shred because his AOE only inflicts Armor Shred on a critical hit, and Malak had the crit immunity buff - you could try taking out the tenacity stasis field first, giving you time to inflict more AS
Ahnald you wouldn't believe me if I told you I got JKR DR and Malak all F2p but I actually did it. Did Malak with zetas on Mission and Zaalbar at G10 which was brutal
I saved ship arena crystals for 6 months not spending any. I used those to get shipments of light side toons and for revan. Then I had revan so I used him to take first in my shard for Another 4-5 months and still getting top ship arena meaning I got 900 crystals a day plus dailies. It was easy to save up 40k crystals to rinse and repeat when dark side toons came out
Would the event be easier if you got rid of the 2 pods on the left and the tenacity up pod on the right and force him to only get the crit hit immunity?
I don't get this. I have a stronger team that what Ahnald is using and I can't get past this fight. I can only get 2 stacks of shred armor (Zaalbar has 249 speed) and once all the stasis fields are down, I'm keeping Malak from enraging (stacks of Dark rage never get to 30 or even close) but I still get wrecked by him. The shred armor is what I don't get...my Zaalbar get's 2 stacks and that's it. The 3rd never lands and I usually don't even get a chance to try to get the third stack again before Zaalbar gets nuked. Sooo frustrating. Edit 30 minute later: JEEBUS CHRIST! The RNG Gods heard my anguish and I managed to get 4 stacks of Shred Armor on Malak before Zaalbar bit it and that was enough to get this done. HALIFUCKINGLEUYA!!
As much as I want to approve this video I think the best advice is just to gear your characters as much as possible. Even though the game says 17,500 being the bear minimum you still wont do as much damage like this video shows. :\ None of the strategies of every video I saw worked so far.

i'm having a nightmare trying to complete the light side, i've got all of the squad to level 12 and all 6 dotmods, Malek keeps taunting, so i have to keep hitting him, which is not what i need, not sure what to do..... :(
are mission and Zalbar Gear12 required? I cant get them to stay in long, turn order no where close to this and just cant complete this still. I've even moved mods around

What causes the droids to stop spawning? After a few rounds of killing them they won't spawn and so I cant keep his stacks down
CG changed it cause they're a-holes
I have the same issue!! They stop spawning and I can’t keep malak stacks low. Have you been able to beat the event?
If you don't finish off any of the Jedi captives I think the droids will keep spawning. So you want to just focus the droids for as long as you can to get as many stacks of armor shred as you can.
This challenge is literally impossible now, got all the heroes at 21k+ (Revan at 28.5 and bastilla at 24k) and i still cant beat this

How does Z keep inflicting armor Shred if DM has Crit hit immunity? The ability says, inflict armor shred on a critical hit. 🤷♂️

Had to slow play it. With 8 armor shreds. My Jedi were maxed gear with Offense on JKR and Bastie, just like Ahnald recommended

in a nut shell dont hit malak unlerss he taunt, when not taunting destroy droids,when droids are not spawn yet go kill stasis chamber untill respawn

All of you youtubers are mis reading zalbars kit. He just has to get a crit to apply armor shred it doesnt have to crit the target.

El Druido it probably registered it as a critical then took away the damage
