Excellent - a few years ago I wrote an essay on John Fowles - as part of my research I wrote to ITV asking for a copy of the South Bank Show programme which had an interview with Fowles and his wife in Lyme Regis with a very young Melvyn Bragg - to my surprise they sent me the video free of charge 3 days later ! All I have to do now is remember where I put the video .
Thanks for dropping by. i don't know of any particular place where you could discuss his work. You could discuss it with me if you like. I enjoy his writing immensely and The magus is number two in my top ten favorite books. cheers laurence
Jasdave Sandhu I was very much influenced with regard to my own writings by his use of description in "The Magus" After "A Maggot" was released we began a correspondence. I found him a very likable man regards Laurence James
Thanks for a great upload. Still time for me to try to get in some summer reading up here. I want to read "The French Lieutenant's Woman." Thanks for turning me on to some of his other works. I was an English major once, but I never came across his novels, believe it or not. Your channel is good for me. :)
is there anywhere that you know that we people can talk about this novel that has completely blown my mind...i love his imagery...his prose..he is not so much a novelist but rather a poet . I love this music also as it is so fitting. Pls let me know.

The musid is 'Shi Rui' by Pierre Vangelis.
I looked this song up in itunes and had it playing 2 seconds after the music in this youtube video; what an incredible delayed harmonic melody!

Will you please answer to bliblikiapink ? He/she is waiting for three months.:)
It is Johann Pachelbel's "Cannon".
I remember the book was great but the movie failed it.
why did you include an image from "Eyes Wide Shut"?
just confusion I'm afraid
wasn't it meant to be some dramatic element?
A careless mistake
