I have been using this exact Hercules set since the week they were introduced and never gave it a thought to review them; however, they have held up very well over a year and since I was used to grabbing Milwaukee or DeWalt quick bit kits when in the store (mainly for a few things in the kit- cheaper to get the kit than buy driver bits À la carte ) bottom line is yes these hold up much longer and they’re stronger than the comparables. Great review! MB I’ll do one on the sawzall blades 🤷🏼♂️
Good bits they hold up nicely. I built a deck and used my masterforce brushless impact and those bits and they held up well for what they are. Some people think they are junk but they are surprisingly good for the $. I like them good videos sir thanks.
Very nicely done video comparison of all the bits, I glad you did not put the Mikita gold bits in the video, every time I use those, they strip or break. Thanks for your time, video. Thanks again
If you do end up doing a big lineup of impact bits, included the Bauer brand as well as the Hercules. I'm curious to see how both Harbor Freight brands hold up to one another.
Just Like you said at the beginning of the video, I don't understand the pricing on these Harbor Freight bit sets because you can buy the DeWalt, Milwaukee and Bosch bit sets at that same price point.
I've got a set of these Hercules and the similar Bauer, as well as the drill bits. I have gotten them when they've had coupons for $4 or $5 off - since you generally can't use the 20% off ones. I think the quality of both of their brands is great, albeit I don't think the pricing, even with any type of coupon savings is negligible. I will say that the Hercules bit set case like the one you show seems to not hold onto the bits great over time as I've had many come loose all over the case. So, that bit case appears like it would secure them well, but that's not been my experience. I do like the bits, and for me they would last a long time.
I have some Makita Gold bits, and I was driving Robertson screws with one of them this weekend. The bit held up - I didn't quite ream out the head of any screws, but I did let it slip out a a couple of times and spin against the heads. In general I find Wera bits are the best, but the Makita Gold have held up very well for me, too. I just ordered some Wera Robertson bits, so the next time I driving those screws I'll see if these Wera bits hold better than Makita.
Another great video. These bits look like they can stack up to the big boys but HF need to sell these for several dollars less to compete with them. At around $12 I'd be interested this bit kit.
Wait…..HF basically doubled the durability of the premium brands and you’re gonna say that they need to be cheaper? Why? They are offering a better product.
I was at work last night thinking about running a question by you about bit sets and then I got home and saw you uploaded this video. Sweet! Why are most SAE hex bit sets missing the 7/32 size?
Good Information! I would like to see another video of other premium bits under these same test. I might give the Hercules A try now. At least #2 Phillips if they get a nice bite on the head
What do you recommend for long impact bits? I've been looking to see if there's any good sets available, and it seems like there's almost nothing out there at a decent price with a variety.
I picked up some Hercules P2 impact bits and find that they cam out of screw heads much more easily than the Milwaukee bits that I have. They were so cheap, I just tossed em in the trash. That's where they belong.
Nice review. The Hercules bits seem pretty good, but they are too expensive for Harbor Freight. You can get a 45-piece Milwaukee driver bit set for $24.97 at Home Depot -- and the Milwaukee set is 30x longer life compared to Hercules measly 10x (that last part was sarcasm). But around Black Friday at least, Home Depot has deals on big bit sets from Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, and Ryobi. Last year, for example, a 104-piece Milwaukee set for $19.88 (normally $60) and a 142-piece set for $29.88 normally ($70). Around where I am, the sets never seem to sell out right away, so I stock up.
Very nice set and case i kind of think its cool that Harbor Freight is carrying a higher quality Line in the store although because of What they have been known. For i will always think of them as a discount store for less expensive tools not as my go to for premium grade items as far as your torture test I dont know how to actually Take that of course anything will break if its abused with many of the tips ive been kind of buying quantity instead of quality as a rule i may however buy a large amount of quality in one particular size that I’m driving a lot of in that fastener for myself i usually purchase those. Thru my hardware supplier so i dont. Really know who manufactured that lot mostly i purchased in bulk thru Fasten All in 50lb boxes

Probably the best tool/misc channel on RUclips, good video quality, good info, good test. Thanks Catus 👨🔧

thanks so much for this review. this gives me the confidence to buy this set for my hobby use knowing that it's not overtly substandard.

They are really good Michael

You sold me ....on the skill cutter.
The Bosch cases are really nice and customizable
The hercules bits. Have been the best bits i have ever usrd.

01:30 - TIME!!!
combatjumpmaster89 Just like Uncle Bumblefuck!
Very thorough review, thanks...👍👍
I been on the fence till now , in need of a new bit kit an I think I just found it .
😎👍🏾
Where can you get that Skill cutter

I have a strong feeling that those Hercules bits are made by the same manufacturer who makes the bits for Milwaukee tools.
I need about a half dozen of these sets. Every 6 months or so.
Entertaining and informative, thanks again.
I heard Hercules doesn't fit in the screw as good though. Is that true?
What do you recommend for long impact bits? I've been looking to see if there's any good sets available, and it seems like there's almost nothing out there at a decent price with a variety.
Are the bits easily replaced? A lot of stuff at HB is sold in kit form only. Lose a piece and it can't be replaced.
They have some all the more common bits available on little packs but I'm not sure if they sell every bit in the set individually
Nice job. Where is that cat?
Why do you get more power with full shank and what does that mean?
What is the CoO of the H.F. bits?

Did you say 6160 aluminum or did you mean 6061 aluminum?
Anybody else thinking Eddie Murphy, "Hercules, Hercules!"?
Good stuff Big Cat.. 👍

The retention is better than the dumb Milwaukee ones that are so tight that you can’t get the short bits out
Harbor freight Hercules brand is leaving the shelves... Changing color to the Makita teal green and a battery change.... I'm waiting
Not exactly Makita it's more of a brighter blue, I have the "gen 1" Hercules they're great tools
👍😎☕🔨🔧

The case is a copy of the new Bosch bit cases
Copy of a Milwaukee case
Exactly
Harbor freight sucks you can get a Bosch, Masterforce, Dewalt, Kolbolt, Milwaukee for the same or cheaper. 😎🏒🇺🇸🐧
Oh waaaa waaaa waaaaa
