As a primarily black person whose extended family straddles several fiercely-protected cultural traditions, I feel that the current cultural attitude towards blackface (et al) is an overcorrection. I don't think that dressing up as Diana Ross back in the eighties, for instance is cringe-worthy any more than Tom Hanks portraying a gay person or a disabled person or a villain should be considered inappropriate since the very point of Halloween and acting is to pretend to be someone you're not for a while. Sure, we now have the capability to cast actors who fit their roles more closely, and we should do that, but it seems to me that that reduces an actor's opportunities to stretch. However, considering how a person's intent is increasingly difficult to read (both because we are losing the ability to read people AND because people are more often employing ulterior motives) and because information is increasingly shared without context, I completely understand why indulging in another's culture is no longer appropriate. This is not to say that celebrating/engaging in other cultures is inherently a bad thing; it's just become politically problematic to do so without being accused of appropriation (which is when you actively pretend that a foreign culture is your own) or accused of mocking that culture (when you present that culture in caricature). It is my sincere hope that this relatively new phobia does not permanently have a chilling effect on cultural proliferation, discouraging people from learning about one another's ways of life.
I never particularly liked Megyn Kelly, but I did respect her dauntless interview with Trump, and firing her for expressing an opinion about Halloween makeup was just absurd. There were two instances where he was slurring his words on air and it was clear he was drunk. The network didn't renew his contract. Since then he's been involved in a drunk driving crash and violating parole by having drunken disputes with family. It's a sad case.
Phyllis George was the co-anchor of CBS’ morning show many years ago. She interviewed a man who was falsely accused of raping a woman then released when she recanted. The woman was in the studio with the man. At the end of the interview George asked the man if he’d give the woman a hug. She was fired soon after.
Here is a quote from Tucker Carlson that shows why he should never be taken seriously: "breaking news Pink Moon turns frogs gay." He actually said that on air one time.
I wonder if that wasn't tongue in cheek reference to that viral Alex Jones video where he is raving about "chemicals in the water turning the frigging frogs gay". 😂 The auto-tune remix song of that clip is an absolute banger
Why is it that we are now told that someone did "something bad", but the reporters don't tell us what was said/done in case it reflects badly on them? We used to have asterisks in place when examples were given.

They could have given A.J. one pass. He was clearly nervous as hell. Let him be nervous as hell his first day on television. It's not like he dropped the n-bomb.
Brian Williams has career ruined in one moment. Continues to work at MSNBC until he retires. I don't think Mojo knows the definition of career, ruin and/or moment.
I hate when tv personalities and entertainers apologize for saying something that is no big deal, and they act like they're so broken and upset about the incident. They are just apologizing to save their careers.
I love how being fired from FOX was the best thing that could have happened to Tucker Carlson, and today his popularity and income have both skyrocketed since he started his own show on X. Go TUCKER!!!👍👍👍
A lot of these aren’t really “in one moment”, but rather being terrible for a long time and getting found out. What about Charlo Greene? That was a moment to be remembered.
Trent Evans leaves his job and struggles financially for years. He has a car accident because he was intoxicated and the passenger died. What exactly was the "one moment" that ruined his career. Was it him leaving his job because of mental health? The years that passed before the car accident? Killing someone in a car accident and going to jail for 7 years? Does Mojo understand that a dictionary might be useful in the future.

As usual, your channel's title is clickbait and inaccurate. As your own script states, most of these professionals lost their jobs after investigations showed months, years, if not decades, of misconduct.
I’ve started to hit the ‘don’t recommend channel’ button for every one of these I come across. If everyone did that it might take them out of the algorithm and thus cut into their monetary returns on what you aptly described as ‘clickbait’.
Sabrina Earley downfall was that their were multiple stories that were all lies. She also currently still has a job in the media industry. Not "one moment" nor "career ruining".

Don Lemon-major cringe.
Why? The people that jump all over this incident always make sure to edit out the rest of the piece, that they were talking about Haley criticizing the age of others.
Doesnt he love himself so much
Well over half the list are arguably doing better now than they were on a major network.
AND the dude who swore his first day and was fired... he did not even have a career to ruin yet.
Case in point... Tucker Carlson, who is making bank since he left Fox.
They're all sorry.....That they got caught
2:47 who are these?
Too many people on this list only got fired/lost their job because what they said was heard by the public.
Tucker didn't ruin his career it's thriving even more on his own 😂😂
Walter Cronkite was the best of them all.
I don’t know if he was a reporter, but Paul Harvey is my favorite personality. But most of these people weren’t reporters either, just people who can read a teleprompter.
Sadly, the casting couch is not a purely 1950s Hollywood phenomenon, and the culture of such pressure wasn't limited to the onscreen talent, as not just Weinstein, but also such as Les Moonves at CBS demonstrated.
Who thinks that the casting couch is purely a 1950s kind of thing?
Every time I see Meghan Kelly I think of how SURE she is that Santa is white 🤣😭
What race do you think Santa is?
Why wouldn't he be? He's European.
@@twrampage Eastern European.
It's Good To Be Santa! :)
@@twrampage santa originated from st nicholas, a 4th-century greek bishop who lived in what is now modern-day turkey. are turks "european"? and who says all europeans are white?
You might wanna look into Frank Sommerville. He was a well known local anchor in the San Francisco Bay Area. Poor dude basically became an alcoholic.
The auto-tune remix song of that clip is an absolute banger
@@Whatdoesthisboxdo bro a certified banger for sure 😂 it's a bop
@8:45 there is a clip online of charlie rose discussing the metoo movement. and you can see in real time, charlie rose realizing he is next.
You'd better make a new list soon everyone else on msnbc and cnn is going down
I think that Barbara Walter’s and Diane Sawyer were pretty influential.
“Matt Lauer can suck it!”
- Dr. Rick Marshall.
12:19: all this going on while some guy is fixing the ac, lol what?
Man has a job to do and schedule to keep. If her soapbox isn't causing the problem then she can stand on it all she wants.
None of the apologies ever seem sincere. They are "please save my job" apologies. That said, not all of these deserved to be fired immediately.
I love how Brian Williams made it known that it was his choice to leave NBC news.
Honorable mention: Mike Davis from 10TV Columbus
Why is it that we are now told that someone did "something bad", but the reporters don't tell us what was said/done in case it reflects badly on them? We used to have asterisks in place when examples were given.
I always wanted to know what happened to Stone Philips from Dateline MBC.
It's hard to give a thumbs-up 'like' to tragic and heartbreaking stories.
Indecent child focused media. Gotta sugarcoat everything don’t we.
more likely because youtube will demonetize videos that include certain keywords, especially those pertaining to pedos. they don't want to be seen as promoting that crap.

They could have given A.J. one pass. He was clearly nervous as hell. Let him be nervous as hell his first day on television. It's not like he dropped the n-bomb.
The fact that Connie Chung isn’t on this list makes me feel ancient.
I'm suprised that BBC news reporter Huw Edwards didn't make this list.
I don’t think 19 counts as he was not a reporter at the time.
I love how being fired from FOX was the best thing that could have happened to Tucker Carlson, and today his popularity and income have both skyrocketed since he started his own show on X.
Go TUCKER!!!👍👍👍
Dan Rather warned us all about corporate news.
Tolley Carr in nc should be on this list
okay , a little off of the subject ; doesnt Meek look like a love child between Tom Hanks and Alec Baldwin? just sayin,,, 2.35
A great addition would be Mike Willesee being fired from Melbourne's A Current Affair for being drunk on air.
16:34 Matt Lauer interviewing Bill O’Reily about sexual misconduct. lol
Great informative video

@@fastinbulvis2223agreed. Not really that informative if you follow basic news. These videos are more for “oh shit. I forgot that happened 15 years ago!”

These people say and do awful things, get fired and receive millions to go away... ridiculous. I once got fired for going to a family members funeral.
😮
As usual, your channel's title is clickbait and inaccurate. As your own script states, most of these professionals lost their jobs after investigations showed months, years, if not decades, of misconduct.
I’ve started to hit the ‘don’t recommend channel’ button for every one of these I come across. If everyone did that it might take them out of the algorithm and thus cut into their monetary returns on what you aptly described as ‘clickbait’.
a child diddler says ''what?"
Erm, your statement is inaccurate. Many of these were just 1 moment.
Sabrina Earley downfall was that their were multiple stories that were all lies. She also currently still has a job in the media industry. Not "one moment" nor "career ruining".
