Literally the first thing you need to do when you spill liquid on electronics: Turn power off immediately, like force shut down, not the carefully clicked shut down thing, the hold the button for five seconds. Turn it upside down, even a good shake to help gravity do it's thing. Place on a towel under with it still upside down in a warm area. DO NOT TURN BACK ON. if it isn't filtered water, with only h20, DO NOT TURN BACK ON!!! This is when you can try taking it apart and cleaning with alcohol, but honestly after the first steps, just take it to the tech store for best results.

But I think the safest thing to do is just not have liquids that are capable of spilling on your electronics, around it in the first place. I'm aware of how unlucky and clumsy I am and I don't have the money to replace anything I have so I do my best to avoid these situations.

Listen guys here's what you got to do if you spilled liquid on your laptop or really any device if you don't want to get it replaced, first what you have to do is turn off your device, shut it off immediately! Then if you think it's possible or it's just plain obvious that liquid got into your device, take it apart, or if you don't feel comfortable doing that take it to someone who is, The next step is to dry thoroughly and then let it air dry for at least a day to make sure that there is no liquid left anywhere, and throughout this entire process you have to be sure to not turn on your device for any reason because the thing that breaks your devices when there's liquid inside of them is the electricity running through your device! so if you have your device off the entire time it should still work👍🏻 I don't know if anybody will see this but if it helps even one person I will be happy 🙂 Also I should probably add that if the device that you got wet is a compact device like a phone and you are inexperienced do not attempt to take it apart yourself, definitely go see a professional
Regardless of if you're comfortable taking it apart or not. You should always disconnect the battery and take off the back panel so it can properly air dry. There's little tabs on the back for the battery that lock and tabs for the back cover panel that also lock.
If you don’t have apple care I recommend you take this to a quality tech in your area who can see what component is damaged by the liquid. Could just be a a replaceable part of the board that can be removed and replaced with a quick solder.

As someone who is extremely clumsy, try not to keep an open drink near electronics, and if you have to use an open drink, ALWAYS keep it on a lower elevation than your desk, like on the floor or a low table
Rich dad = rich and privileged daughter I’ve dropped drinks near my tech on a few occasions now (inevitable with how ubiquitous tech is) but if you are aware of the fact that liquids kill tech, you can keep the liquid from drenching it (eg picking up and flipping the laptop to drain the cider before it got soaked) instead she just took a video.. wish she had bought her own laptop and forgotten apple care so she’d learn to be careful and conscious of what you’re doing instead of acting stupid for internet clout
